  1. I've heard this too but was scared it bang it out of shape, guess I can give it some baby taps and slowly adjust to make sure I don't over do it
  2. I have a Brazos Zigracker on my limited gun that I had a dovetail cut for a while back. Now I am starting notice that the slide racker is slightly lose (I can wiggle it around in the dovetail). In addition I shot a match last night and noticed the slide racker had come out about half way catching on the second ball detent. I figure its only a matter of time before I lose it during a stage, is there anything I can do to force a tighter fit?
  3. Here's my source: https://www.czub.cz/en/cz-shadow-2-or.html
  4. On the CZUB website it says 1.33 kg which converts to 46.914 ounces. I think that's a huge oversight on their part and hopefully it's remedied for its released in the states
  5. A pic I took when I first got but a new (to me) 6" Limited Gun in .40 from FGW
  6. At what distance? Major or minor? Either way that is a VERY fast split time. If my splits were that fast when "trying to go fast" I'd just slow it down a tad and focus on getting 2 As with ~.15 splits.
  7. When resetting the trigger do you only let it out until you feel that tactile click? If so its just asking to get trigger freeze. Now obviously you don't want to do the opposite and just let your finger loose and slap the trigger on the way back in. Find a happy medium where you're using your muscle memory to reset rather than waiting to feel that tactile click
  8. don't ride out the reset helped me a lot
  9. Honestly I've considered this, but I think I'm just going to wait for the OR version to hit the US I don't really enjoy shooting production. I started with it because it was the most affordable. Hi cap mags and magwells let me focus more on actually shooting and less on the other things.
  10. This would be more of a fun gun that Any thing. Just being used when my limited major gun is out of commission
  11. I used to be a production shooter with a shadow 2, but have since switched to limited. I am debating making my shadow 2 my backup gun for when I want to get wwork done on my 2011. I am local to CZ custom so I was planning on taking it there. My plans so far were to get a magwell, some +6 basepads w/follower + springs from henning, and the SAO conversion. Any other work I should consider while I have it in the shop?
  12. So on my last reloading session I really focused on consistency. Went back to the range and shot some more 25 yard groups taking a bit more time, (but still off hand) and the tightened up a bit (don't have a picture right now). I do think I probably just need to practice more at 25 yards to get smaller groups but I am pretty happy with the sizing as of now. I don't have access to a ransom rest at this point so further load development is on pause until I can get a hold of one.
  13. Thats a good point, I'll try just shooting my current load off of a rest to see how they group
  14. My crimp is between .420 and .425 on any given round, not sure where that falls on the spectrum of things Currently unclassified in limited but probably around a low B according to the classifiers I have shot
  15. off hand maybe around 1 seconds per shot, maybe a bit faster? I'll have to try that I haven't shot any other pistols in the past few months so I couldn't really give you a good answer As for ears and eyes I don't think that was much of a factor, got lasik a few years ago and its still great and I was doubled up with custom plugs and howard leights with gel cups
  16. Good idea, that won't be too hard I'll give it a shot next time I'm at the bench and see how it goes
  17. Is there a recommended order to adjust things in? I don't want to change too many things at once, that way I can observe what I'm doing and how it effects the round.
  18. There is a program called SubMOA yup its a free app on iphone, not sure if its for other phones though
  19. EGW sells a 6" Stainless for ~40$ and a 6" tungsetn for ~120$ if I recall correctly
  20. I got my splits into the .15 range by doing a TON of bill drills, that being said I think it is much more important to focus on transition times, will stack up to more time off a run typically by cutting down on that time rather than the time between trigger pulls
  21. I use lok grips on my shadow 2 and they help a lot, I couldn't use the stock grips without the gun starting to slip after a few minutes, also using liquid grip/progrip/chalk helps a ton
  22. On the topics of 25 yard groups, practicing at the range the other day with my FGW 2011, I managed this as my group: (1/2" squares for reference) Now as I am shooting with Irons I Was wondering what I can do to tighten up the group, I felt as though my front sight was covering the entire center of the target. For reference I am shooting 180 gr Bayous with 4.4 gr of Aliant Sport pistol loaded to 1.18 out of a 6" barrel
  23. so you were right about the firing pin, took it to a gun smith to look at, and turns out when I zeroed it the other day, the screw in the top of the sights went down to low, which caused the firing pin to get caught on it. Once backing the screw out, the firing pin immediately went back to its normal position; and apparently, that was enough to throw off the feeding. So the rounds were coming up and hitting the firing pin, once I moved it back, no issues. I had the screw ground down a bit so it will no longer cause that issue when screwed down to the zero I was using
  24. Ill have to give that a try tomorrow morning, thanks for that video, will be useful
