To the OP the only reason I've changed from decocker to manual safety for competition is because I now want both my P09 and Sp-01 to operate the same with regard to that feature.

I'm on the same hunt. Henning group has a bunch of Shadow sights and I'll be calling them soon to see if they make anything for the SP-01 (safety). What I'm looking for is a sight set that doesn't have a ton of daylight out front around the front sight but more like what the LPA TRT sights have on my 92G.

It’s the bottom lug of the barrel. The hole, that the slide stop goes through, is “peanut” shaped.
LOL, I won't be forgetting that one soon!!! Thanks.

Take a Q-tip and liberally apply Amsoil Off Road grease inside the peanut lug on the barrel. Then apply a light coating on the slide stop shaft. It won’t eliminate the marks but will drastically reduce the wear.
"Peanut lug"?? Haven't heard of that one yet...

One thing I haven't seen being mentioned is the "bagging" comparisons across firearms at ICHDH. Or is "bagging" limited to Level 1 matches?

I’ve got a fully tuned SP01 that has just under a 6lb da and 2lb sa pull, the gun does not hold be back. As long as the trigger has been worked over and it has the correct springs they can be very competitive. I’ve got friends that have Shadow 2’s that think my trigger is just a good, mine just had a bit more reset due to the FPB.
So what's your 'list' for "fully tuned"? The new SP01 hasn't cooled off from the trip from the LGS yet and looking for tune ups.

Kind of like breaking in leather?
Not an unlikely consideration. Just a bit disconcerting with all the bits in the slide. Not necessarily one would consider an appropriate slide lube.

My holster is double layered and the inside kydex is red. I notice the same with it chewing up a bit of the red after a session of dry firing. I haven't noticed any negative effects after a few months of it.
Dry fire time is when I notice it the most. At a match this weekend there was negligible 'chewing' so I'll wait to see what happens over the next month and then go heavier with a file/sandpaper to smooth out the sharp edges if needed. Thanks!

Some IWB holsters I've bought have done the same but it never caused issues. I think it eventually stopped
Thanks, I've worked the slide a bit and it seems to have calmed it down some.

Any one else having an issue with the forward slide serrations chewing up your kydex holster? I have the equipment to make my own holsters and have made 3 already and there have been no issues with my process. I made this one a bit tighter than others I've made and noticed the "chewing" so I loosened it up a bit (the body of the holster, not the retention on the trigger guard). Issue still continued. Running my finger along the forward slide serrations it does feel sharper than on my other pistols too. Unless there are any other suggestions from the group think here I see the only solution being GENTLY rounding the upper serration corners. I need to find a solution to this issue since I don't know how well tiny bit of kydex work as a slide lube.

Do you guys like to use the 2 part epoxy or the JB weld putty stuff? Thanks
Two part works for me.

Forget the "neutral" grip. You are trying to control and limit a violent movement. The only way to do that is with force, and the more force the better the control. It's a super simple concept. And definitely check out CHALEE's book, I wish I had a book like that when I first started. It would have saved me years of trying to figure certain things out slowly on my own.
One of the big take-aways from Big Panda's video on this subject is to measure grip on your strong hand with the trigger finger extended out straight. I don't have a dynamometer to measure grip strength but with the grip strength exerciser that I use I always grip it with my trigger finger extended and occasionally will pause to make sure I can "pull the trigger" without altering the grip portion in that hand.

Death grip to the point of shaking is what throws aim off for me. Hard grip just this side of shaking is my sweet spot.

It's really only tricky on unloaded starts, then all mags must be only 10
Good point. That one escaped me!

Are all mags loaded with 10 rounds?
Can you load 11 in your first mag to start with 10+1 like IDPA?
Or, can you load and chamber, then drop the mag, and add in a new 10 round mag to go 10+1 on your first shots.
As per D4 #9 you must have 10 rounds in each mag after the start signal which means at 'make ready' a mag with 11 rounds is legal just so that +1 is in the chamber at the start signal. There is nothing wrong with load the chamber, drop the mag and add 10 round mag just alot of extra steps.

My mail lady and I have an agreement. She is kinda small. I tell her to leave them at the post office and I'll pick them up there.
I'm known at the post office as "the guy with the heavy packages".
"What is in here" has been the question. "Oh just some lead" is the response.

Got a bunch of this same purple washed stuff in 40
I tumbled it and loaded it and I'm still loading it FWIW
As I've gone through this batch reloading there seems to be no issue. With all of the snow recently I haven't had a chance to get out to the range to see how they work in the gun but not so concerned so far.

Phantom is single side decocker. No rhs lever.
Thanks, some of the other images of Phantoms just might not be Phantoms then...SP01's.
-
I'm considering picking up a 01 Phantom and saw one of the pictures on the site where the right side decocker lever is absent. Is this a standard feature of an older version or newer version...or just "switchable" from left to right? Or is this just a screwed up pistol and that's why it's priced so well?

I entered a note on the order to Precision, .357 dia which they acknowledged having noted as such, we will see.
Precision is a good way to go, great service/follow through. They even sent out a very generous "sample" pack no charge when the first order I placed ended up not being what was needed. Good email response and customer service.
Ergonomic benefit of RRK

I've done some searching here for benefits of the RRK and off it goes into the weeds with out any specific mention of benefits with regard to what I'm looking for. Since I have fingers that are kind of like spider legs, long and skinny is that 5.0mm set back of any benefit for those of us that don't have "stubby" fingers? From reading the web site the overall trigger travel isn't changed so I'd much rather spend the lesser amount for just the 85 trigger (I'm growing increasingly grumpy re: the stock SP-01 trigger) and be off and running to the next modification. Thanks All.
