  1. What spring kits / parts are you using in a S&W 627 pc to lower the trigger pull and smooth it out? Is one brand better than the other? I’m looking to get a smooth 7.5lb trigger pull. I sent my 627 pc to S&W for a “ Competition “ trigger job, but it came back just a tiny fraction better than it was out of the box, and I have $225 dollars less!!! That was a couple of years ago, I got pretty PO’ed with S&W and put the gun in the safe and never bothered with revolver competition. I also sold off several of my other Smith guns, down to 2, and switch to CZ!! ???? Now I’m wanting to give revolver a try again, but this time I’m going to do all of my own work. What suggestions does anyone have on tuning the Smith’s, gear such as holsters, moon clips, moon clip holders, moon clip tools, ect. I’m planning on using 38LC brass, 160 Bayou Bullets, and probably titegroup, 1.300 AOL.
  2. I am new to competitive revolver shooting and I’ve been wanting to give it a try. I’ve had a S&W 627 PC sitting in the safe for several years, just waiting. So you know I have been shooting uspsa production and limited on and off for the last 7 years. The thing is I have been reading and studying as many posts as I can find on 38 shorts or mids, and the last 2 posts state what I’ve been thinking all along. Why not just use long colts. I’m planning to run straight long colt brass at 1.20 and 158-160 gr Barry’s and Bayou Bullets, because that’s what I have. Does any one have a few recipes for long colts? I’m wanting to reach 825-840 FPS. What should the AOL be? Any suggestions on revolver gear, holster, moon clips, tools, moon clip holders? Thank you
