Anyone? Bueller? Any advice where to look?

Anyone familiar with these .45s? Have a chance at one, LNIB, and just wondering if the hype about the fit and finish on these are really worth it. Any info would be appreciated. i've been able to find out some about the 9 and 40 but pretty much nothing about the 45, even numbers produced. Thanks for any help.

Seems like my experience mirrors many of yours. In the past they were fine and buying accessories went fine for me. In the last few months, however, ordering ammo from them just doesn’t work. Delivery times get changed or extended by months when the same items are for sale for earlier delivery at higher cost, etc. Even when they indicate a great price and in-stock ammo I don’t even bother now. Please tell me if I’m wrong - I’d be happy to be corrected and told they’re delivering ammo when promised. And, yes, we all know we’re in the middle of a global pandemic...

Anyone having a good experience buying ammo from them? I tried placing a few orders with them only to have a few days or weeks turn into a few months on products that went up in price since my ordering. Luckily I was bale to cancel and now I'm wary of even ordering anything that reads in stock. And no,this does not just seem to be a simple "global pandemic" issue. Hope I'm wrong and someone here will correct me. - And if this is inappropriate or in te wrong place, sorry, feel free to move or delete.

So is it unusual for Tanfo to identify some of the earlier EA# Stock II as Stock 1 in their lookup guide? Anyone else see this with an EA #?

Thanks for posting the references to that earlier thread I didn’t find. That was helpful. Also, just looked up one if the EA serials on the mag reference site - was from 2013 but said frame was Stock I. Odd? Or typical for those numbers when you look them up?

Trying to keep track of some of the differences in Witness Stock IIs - I’ve had ones with just the M serial number in the frame’s right side and nothing above it on the slide. I’ve also seen some saying Stock II 9x19 on the slide and EA serial. Is that showing a change in importers and dates or something else? I believe the beavertail changed over time. If this is all somewhere else, my apologies, and just point me over there. Thanks

Exactly - I don't remember that being the case in the past. Others list it at various prices but out of stock. Guess I might sell the one I don't use because people probably want or need them here.

Maybe it's me but I remember that it was easy - and much cheaper - to get an SRO 2.5 a while ago. Now it seems like the 1.0 is around but 2.5s aren't. Did I miss something? Or is it just another victim of 2020?

I've read so many good and bad comments about the varieties of 80% Glock lowers that I wanted to get some good opinions here. I've always wanted to try one and now is a good time for me. What brands are good, what to look out for, who had good results, which are trash, etc. and any other caveats would certainly be welcome. Thanks.

I'm a fan of the old ones, the gen 1 and gen 2, the 34 gen 4, and almost all the gen5s myself. Still like my Gen 2 G17 for sentimental reasons and works great when I take it out fo the tupperware.

I've come to believe that no house is complete without a Glock 17 and an old copy of "Frampton Comes Alive". (That's a bone for all the older members here.) Funny - no one said a 17L.

For those asking - this isn't really to fill any particular need. I'm happy to say I've got a lot of those bases covered. It's more to see ideas for a fun gun or maybe just something out there now that's really, really good that everyone might like. I've also had quite a few and been a member for a number of years. i have to admit I haven't been able to handle every one out there but most of the basic ones - 26, 43, 17, 19, 34...and various gen 2s, 3s, 4s and a 5 here and there. So if someone opened up the glock showcase and said pick one, what would you get these days? Thanks for the ideas already.

Got plenty of fun pieces here (although only one old G17) and have my GSSF cert to use. Disregarding the rest of my collection and any one particular use, what would you use it on? I've got to put my order in soon. Thanks for some god ideas in advance!

Picked my 9mm Trojan up - looked like it never saw the light of day. Came with everything seen (one STI mag and an extra that was a Kimber) and the old red manual that was untouched. Nothing, however, with a date, but it looks like we've narrowed that down in this thread. Maybe I can look up the serial sometime. Just got back from the range after using it for the first time and was very happy with it and amazed at how little recoil I felt. Then I used my Kimber Custom II (alloy) .45 for a bit and went back to my (heavier) 9mm Trojan. Now it was like shooting a .22. (Not exactly true, but darn close.) Very happy with everything except....the plain black front sight. Time to make a call to Dawson. Anyone picked up and changed out their front sight on one that wants to share their two cents? Appreciate it. Thanks.

Found one review/mention from 2010 and another from 2011 with the large rollmark, but a 2014 with the small so it looks like TheSandman probably nailed it at around 2012 from my google fu. Don't see anything yet about any changes, though.

Looks like this one near me is a bit older than the owner thought/said, although it looks mint. Anything else change with them - for better or worse?

Came across a Trojan 9mm for sale and have seen some others around. Some have a large “Trojan” centered on the slide and some smaller one closer to the rear. Can anyone tell me when they made the change from one to another? Any differences other than that? Thanks.

I know I'm practicing less because of ammo cost and wondering what the future will bring, that's for sure. I can imagine that even with participation in matches staying up, it's the case foe many. (That and a renewed interest in reloading.)

Trying to remember/track down when they changed the “Stock II” on the slide from script to block and what other changes went with that. Sorry if it’s here somewhere but I couldn’t find it. Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Thanks all. Tried to just hold higher but old habits die hard, I guess. I’ll take a look at elevating the Cmore , although I love how it’s dead-on right now, and the Magpul. I don’t think I’d do a very good DIY solution, myself, in comparison but a good idea, too. I’ll be sure to report back. Thanks.

My JP has a standard Hogue Overmolded Carbine stock and I'd like a bit more room off the stock. Would anyone recommend a specific cheek riser for it - or just a new stock. I'm OK with the stock otherwise. Thanks.
