  1. OK barrel is built with an "F" FSB... and they said even if it isn't marked it will be an "F" height

Really don't know how that will translate to a 9mm anyway...

I do need to research how zero is set with the two apertures and 9mm

AND it doesn't come with a sight post, so I'll buy a .270 and a .300 just for the fun of it....

  2. I have everything but magazines on order.

I went with a 16” barrel with an A2 cage and a fsb for simplicity’s sake. I have carbine and mid length handguards and went with mid length since it looks less goofy than carbine length.

I do need to clarify with them  that it is a non “f” marked and has a sight post.

I went with a Faxon bolt as it’s description by the manufacturer had answered most all my questions.

I’m very tempted to try a few of the less expensive magazines, but if I just go with oem Glock  I know I’ll avoid headaches.

I’ll have to check bolt travel and I’m prepared to make a spacer if I need to.

  3. Here is where I’m at at the moment, the magazine adapter is the only thing I currently have on order.

I’m researching the bolt, buffer and barrel.

Im fairly certain I’ll be using the deflector and half dust cover set up since it is a classic look and I like it…

  4. I'm assembling parts for my AR9 build.

I have a slick side A1 upper and I'm going to have a pinned A style front sight and 16" barrel.

This upper is super nice so I may switch it with my beat up 601 uppered rifle....

I went with the Stern glock mag adapter due to the bolt hold open feature and the dependable magazine options. It's almost twice the price of some others but I figured it was kind of important....

XM style stock and CAR foregrip, I'll see if I can find an open cage hider. I found a krinkov style hider that is pretty nice...

  5. Just a word or two about the Alpha and Bul pistol customer service.

Alpha was/is coming out with an improved version 2, so I had emailed them about the changes and haven't heard back from them. +- 2 months

Bul did respond to me but didn't answer a couple of the important questions I had.

I still may get a Bul down the road, but may get a commander size since my carry is covered now.

  6. ****DESCISION HAS BEEN MADE****

Springfield has a hellcat pro package with 5 magazines and a range bag, in addition to the pistol soft case for just north of $500.

The local shop has an online store, and I ordered from there, but they had one in stock Monday, so I'll find out later if I can pick it up today...  So I did get to fondle it, and that really sealed the deal, not a thing I would change.

They also had the optic model but the 5 mag one was a better deal..  that was very nice too, never shot an optic pistola..

I do believe I will be looking at an optic for it, I just need to research what fits... and so far I have found +4 mag extensions so I'll get a few of those...

Thank you everyone for the recommendations, I looked at the blade techs but unfortunately they are not left hand friendly. As of now I am sick between the Black Scorpions and DAA single stack racer

are the black scorpion left hand friendly?

  8. I do quite like the black scorpion pouches….

-BUT- they are a humongous pain in the posterior, if you want to move them, or if you want to use/convert them to double stack.

-BUT- they are wonderful for both double or single stack. And can be rotated in any direction and tilted away or closer to the belt.

-IF- I had to do it all over again, I would buy Blade-Tech mag pouch pros for either single or double stack, but they are not convertible. And they can be rotated in most usable directions, but cannot be tilted.

with the tech lock they can be easily moved

  9. I got the extras I had on order in.

I am still going to order a couple more of the EZ8 shell carriers, and see what works best for me, vs. the 4x4’s

Depending on loadout I could fit 3 ez8 shotshell holders =24 shells

I could fit 4 of the 4x4’s in the same space or less

I didn’t need a second ar mag pouch, but I was placing an order with blade tech anyway so I thought I’d try theirs out.. so far I really like it.  It will replace the taco pouch.

I got another belt… just as nice as my others (ghost, shootersconn, black scorpion)

3 single stack pouches = 30 or 24 extra rounds

    2 dubble stack pouches = 42 rounds

and my holster can be switched to my dubble stack pistola easily.

  10. I am concentrating on a new carry pistol right meow, so the “target/competition” pistol has taken a backseat,

-BUT- a local shop has a 5” Springfield Emissary in little used condition that has me very interested.

the only thing missing is I had my heart set on an adjustable rear sight, but I like everything else about it.

I would add a short magwell to either.

The squared trigger guard is weird but not uncomfortable

I have ordered from them on faith.  It was a similar wait but the product did arrive.

I haven't heard any signs of small business crash and run yet, but I'm watching the 30 day mark to contest the charge if I don't hear anything.

  12. Looking at whiz-bang dubble stacks, I think I’m heading toward the Bul ultralight in 9mm, for a carry pistol.

I will look at a competition 4.25” or 5” in the future but not sure if I’d go .45.

If I stick with 9mm, I’ll go with Bul for sure.

their website is very unclear about what magazine they will send you if you order extras…

actually quite a few over the years,, some were not compatible due to length or mag pad or funnel design. Some were just completely different.
Of top of head some very different designs.. The Para Ordnance, use in PO , Remingtons, and some Rock island or Armsoce clones.
Then there is the STI modular frame style,, more common today used in STI's SVI, SPS and some other imports.
No idea about BUL,,, and at one time Wilson combat had a doublestack frame with its own mags.
Then there is the Caspian design which is similar to Tanfoglio mags.

well carp... I figured it wouldn't be simple....
