I just ordered 2 black scorpion pcc pouches.  How do you like them?

I like them, but the bladetechish mounts aren’t as nice as blade techs, I replaced mine with real blade techs.

the mounts were moved to less critical equipment. They are nice and solid enough but lacked the ability to mount to molle.

  2. I dunno the jp5 just looks super overpriced for what you get.

The mpx is a little better priced but still more than I’d be comfortable with.

If I were looking for something I’d be looking at the Palmetto AK-V…

I did build myself an AR-9 recently out of spare parts and am still considering getting an AK-V because I’m having lots of fun with the AR-9..

If I get an AK-V I’m still under the price of an mpx for both pcc’s.

  3. I was very interested in the Sig 365 tac and the hellcat pro.

the local gun shop had multiple hellcats to try but no sigs…

so the hellcat won out by default, I do believe the sig would have been $300 more with two mags and I got the hellcat with 5 mags…

no optic on either model I was looking at.

If I were to run across the sig I would like to try it..

this was my journey… it was a lot different than I had originally intended.

  4. So far my Rock River Arms has been quite good.

haven't measured my col but 130's are flawless

I really bought the barrel based on the availability with a FSB, but have been pleasantly impressed by the quality.

I may try some 147's at some point, but I'm deciding what my standard load will be.

  5. Very windy at the range today.

I sighted the short leaf at 50m and used a top hold on the short at 200m.

I’ll sort the long leaf when the weather gets nicer, and I’ll figure out what ammo I’ll be using regularly.

these were some 130’ s that I’m almost out of and I don’t remember where I got them.

Very happy with the Rise armament flat trigger.

the bolt hold open is nice, but it is fragile, a not so sharp rap on the buttstock or anywhere else will close the bolt.

  6. Here is my new quandry...

I ordered a light that will fit this pistol.

I have an AIWB holster on the way for the pistol+optic, AND I have an OWB holster for competition that will work for competition with the optic that I like very much. no light option on these two holsters.

I do believe this pistol will also be suitable to carry and compete with the light attached.

I would be very happy with another AIWB holster that includes the light.  and I do have no problem ordering another AIWB for this porpoise.

The only OWB holster I can find that I somewhat like does not have the retention type I like for competition, and I doubt any maker would make one in the future.

Do I remove the light for competition or suck it up and train with the pistol and light and a holster I don't like as much?

I have never had a pistol with a light -or- an optic, let alone both so all new territory for me....

I got the rise armament pcc for my pcc and the alg act to try out on another build.

    thanks for the heads up!

I had ordered the flat trigger before I realized there was a curved one, but I don’t regret it, seems very much nicer than stock.

  8. Buffer tube spacer, Rise trigger, mags, and front sight post came in.

I am still waiting on an adapter for the large hole on the front pin of the colt upper, and I have a front sling swivel in the same package.

I may trade off one of my CZ P-09’s or my WWII REM 11 for a Glock 34, 17, 19 now that I have a supply of Glock mags.

If you are planning to shoot it in USPSA, unfortunately not legal due to the bull barrel in SS.

I do actually prefer square trigger guards on 1911s - gives slightly more room for my support hand fingers to press up against it

Good point, I really only shoot at a local “action pistol” and the rules are mostly be safe and have fun.

I ended up getting a Springfield hellcat pro for carry and on a whim built an AR9 so my competition pistol money has dried up for a short time.

Im still leaning toward the Colt lite rather heavily.

in the mean time my metro commander has been proving itself quite well.

  10. Ordered Friday from the shops webstore, got a call and picked it up today (Tuesday).

smaller than an officers 1911, and 15 rounds of 9mm…

trigger is nicer than a glock for sure, and quite nice for a striker.

ill shoot a video in the next couple days if I’m not to busy with my pcc build.

I had some small parts to order from midway and to get some coupon I added two more magazines… so 7 will be the number of the magazines I have…

I’ll buy maybe 4 or 5 of the mag extensions and probably use it for competition too

so far two companies make +4 extensions, haven’t seen +5’s…

  11. I was not expecting the barrel to ship for maybe another week as they said they build them to order…

    it will be here Monday!

I do believe everything will have arrived by Monday, EXCEPT the magazines….. I have not gotten notification of those shipping yet….

the Stern Defense magwell adapter arrived today, and while it was twice the price of some others, I believe I made the right decision, it is very well made.

Replace the pistol mag pouches with a quad pouch. It adds more room for other stuff.

That’s my more than I’ll need 3 gun set up, I could also go vertical with the pistol pouches and fit them in tighter. And I have double stacks so I could get by with less pistol mags.

the last piece of the puzzle was the shotgun shell holders, the ez8’s are super easy to use.

i do still like the 4x4 holders, and may use them from time to time, and I have them on my tacticool zombies/shtf plate carrier…

I had alice gear with one of those 1918 canvas shell holders, and extra shells rolling around in my med kit (along with loose .38’s) and pockets back when it counted, so I really appreciate the gamesmanship options available today.

it’s nice to do this for fun

  13. I got an email about a sale on Glock 33 round magazines….  $34 each…

    I hope 8 will get me by….

I also got the rise armament pcc trigger as was suggested in another thread.

    I wasn’t planning on a fancy trigger but….
