  1. Leo doesn’t know this, but he was a very influential factor in my decision to purchase a CTS .40 from CZ Custom. I made the purchase without ever holding or shooting a CTS. I couldn’t be happier with it. Custom 2011’s are nice, no doubt about it, but a TSO or CTS is half the cost of a 2011 and are just as competitive. My CTS has run 100% since new. 5000+ rounds and not a single failure. If you doubt the effectiveness of a TSO or CTS watch some of Leo’s YouTube videos. Fast and flat AF.
  2. I like to engage the "easy" alphas first so I can get the jitters, shakes, and quickly condition myself to the sights and recoil control. If there is no time penalty the "easy" alphas are my go to first.
  3. The actual string time was 4.54/4.23. Is there a better application or program out there to review video? Certainly, nothing can replace a shot timer, but I never get to see what my actual draw, reload, and split times are. I know what they are in live and dry fire practice.
  4. I ran a CM-01 a few weeks ago and can’t seem to get my split/transition times from the video I have. I did import Can You Count into ClipShot and uploaded it. Has anyone used this app? I’m surprised that most folks didn’t know there was such an app. If you don’t, then you do now. It’s really neat for keeping track of all those core skill times. I’ve practiced faster draws at this distance and reloads, but I would venture to say this is about as fast as I can produce on demand everytime. Thanks again for all the responses. I apologize for the length of time it took me to prepare for the second string.
  5. Postal Bob. What are your bullets and velocities? Are 180gr Berry’s still wildly popular?
  6. Thanks Mike. I've done my best job with making the stroke as smooth and consistent as possible. Recently, I started weighing 10 charges into one pan and dividing by 10 to get good average for the load. I'm going to load up 100 with starline brass and 100 from mixed once fired brass. Hopefully that will give me a good indication of how much the brass plays a role in deviations. I'm also going to give a pound Prima V a shot here soon. I've been using nothing but N320 for the last 8lbs.
  7. Appreciate all the responses. Naturally, getting faster at any of these fundamentals is the goal. I think the times Gooldylocks posted are good. 1sec draw and A hit is a tough one!
  8. I have a drill book by Steve Anderson that only focuses on GM times as well. I'm more curious about the progress tracking in core fundamentals as a shooter advances in class. You think a 1.0sec draw/reload and .20 split/trans are C-class?
  9. Are there any baseline times for core fundamentals in competitive shooting? For example, what should a C-class limited/open shooter be able to consistently reload? B-class, A-class, M-class, etc. What are typical baseline splits at 10 yards for a C-class, B-class etc. I'm mostly concerned with time for Limited division. My splits are typically .25sec, reloads 1.8sec, 2-reload-2 4.3sec, & draw 2 shots 1.7sec. I can always draw and reload faster in dry fire than live fire. I would say my times for these events are average during live fire. I have done them faster, however not consistent. Looking for consistent times, not peak times. Preferably from live matches and not practice. Splits (10 yards) - GM - ? M - ? A - ? B - ? C - ? Reload GM - ? M - ? A - ? B - ? C - ? 2 - reload - 2 (10 yards) GM - ? M - ? A - ? B - ? C - ? draw & 2 shots (10 yards) GM - ? M - ? A - ? B - ? C - ?
  10. Shooting a CZ CTS .40 First classifier. It was cold, wet, windy, and I had the preshoot jitters. Slow turn, slow draw, and too many Deltas. My goal is 6.0sec and no Deltas by summer.
  11. Currently using Berry’s 180gr FPRS. That’s what I chrono’d with. My limited gun is a CZ CTS .40 from CZ Custom.
  12. I appreciate all the responses! I have some starline brass I’ll load up and test for consistency. Didnt realize each individual case with different head stamps could vary so much. Thought for sure it had to be something a bit more complicated. I recently started depriming, resizing, and wet tumbling hoping for more consistency in deviations.
  13. Tons of fun! This may be old news to some, but the $10 practiscore app is the coolest app for this sport. Where does practiscore get data for classes?
  14. Just to clarify I'm not getting any spillage on the shell plate. I now realize this may be in the wrong thread.
  15. Looking for any comments or suggestions regarding the powder drop on the Dillion 650. I was just recently able to chrono my .40 reloads and not only noticed I was only making an average of 161 PF, but that my deviations were around 40-50 ft/sec. I had a few rounds make major and several more that did not. My concern is the deviations. My powder drop seems to drop a fairly consistent charge, however I have noticed a fluctuation in the powder safety measure thats only there to show an under/over charge situation. That little notch seems to occasionally move on some charges ever so slightly. By that I mean, not all powder charges seem to be consistent with that safety bar that goes into the filled case. If i weigh every one the deviation in gr seems to be only by .1gr occasionally. I've polished the powder bar and cleaned the funnel a few times which hasn't made any noticeable difference. I won't post my load data (per the rules), however it is the most common load for 180gr .40 using N320. I'm struggling to make major and consistent deviations right now.
  16. Fairly new to competitive shooting. Started USPSA last summer with the Wichita Practical Pistol Shooters out of Wichita, KS. I mostly shoot at Range54 for any local guys here. Plan to shoot the Freestate USPSA, Oklahoma Sectional, and Area 3. Can't think of a better way to spend a few days. Always open to any tips, comment, and help along the way. Recently ran my first 4 classifiers and appear to be a C class shooter. I started with a Glock 34 shooting limited minor. Switched over to a CZ CTS .40 in February for major. Still getting used to reloading and shooting .40. So far its been a blast with lots of apparent improvement over the weeks and months. Started reloading last fall with a Dillion 650 and so far have only reloaded 9mm and .40. Just ticked over 10,000 reloads. I'm sure by now the machine has paid for itself. For anyone familiar with the CZC flat trigger, is there a longer overtravel adjustment screw? anyone know the current size and thread pitch of the overtravel screw. I haven't got ahold of the guys a CZ custom to ask, but thought I would ask here. I need more overtravel adjustment.
