I recently bought a new M&P 45 4.5". Installed a Novak competition sight set (fiber front, elevation adjustable rear) and Apex FSS.
In no-time I was able to shoot it as accurately @ 25y as my Gold Cup Trophy with plain Hornady 230gr FMJ's.
I am pleasantly surprised and very happy with my M&P 45.

I once ended up with 1 in my UZI. It didn't fire and when I cycled the gun manually, I felt powder spray over my hand. Unscrewed the barrel and sure enough there was a projectile in it. A light tap on a cleaning rod was enough to get it out.

It probably has been discussed before: Which system throws more consistent loads?
I can kind of imagine the "clunk" helps settle extruded powders a bit just like the vibrating contraptions some have strapped to the powder measure.

I use HiViz sights on both my SuperNova and M2. I honestly wouldn't know if I could get by without a rear sight, I never tried, and so far I like 'm.

Yep! Same thing happens when going in backwards. What surprised me though, is that after the initial "click", all move around just fine. (Until the get stuck halfway of courseI) Im loading 230gr fmj hornady.

I recently started reloading 45ACP. About 10% of the rounds "fail" the case gauge: The case rim stops the case from going in all the way, but once "clicked" in with force, the case can be spun around in the gauge freely. It seems to be not brass brand specific. Is this something common or is there a problem somewhere?
So far all "problem" rounds cycled just fine.

You may need to set the RCBS die to a little over-cam to get proper headspace.
Also, if its taking a lot of force to get the expander ball back through the neck, you may be stretching headspace.
I size my LC 308 in 2 stages. First pass is Redding Small Base with "sloppy" neck bushing to ease the passage of the expander ball (dented necks from semi-autos).
Second pass is Forster shoulder bump with correct bushing, no expander. You'll be happy with the Forster shoulder bump!
Also recommend the RCBS Precision Mic. Great tool to measure headspace from fired brass out of your rifle and set your press acoordingly.

I don't lube for neck sizing only. I use neck dies with shoulder bump where possible and bushings for the neck. No expander ball.

Forget the production rate comparisons for a moment.
How much more joy do you get when reloading with a Dillon 1050 than when reloading the same cartridge with a Dillon 650 ?

I'd say 37% more joy. Having 3 positions on the crank is a big one for me. Processing military 308 takes a long stroke and loading only a short stroke as it's a way lighter process. Add the primer seating on the upstroke and the pocket swager and there's no going back.

I remember thinking something was wrong and that I should probably not force it. I was right. Something was wrong and I should not have forced it. Since the (308 Redding) die did not look the same after I got done ruining screwdrivers and other objects trying to pound the case out through the removed decapper opening, I tossed it yesterday after sitting on my bench for more than a year with the case still in it. The case didn't look the same either btw and neither did the Workmate.
That said, the solution was one that you know very well, called Gunstop.

I reload for the FAL on a S1050 and use a separate toolhead to size, swage and trim to process the once-fired military brass.
The sizing die on this toolhead is a Redding small base (FL) die with neck bushing. The FAL tends to dent the case mouth, so the expander is needed. The bushing is "sloppy" to make it easier to pull the expander ball back through the neck. The reloading toolhead spots a Forster shoulder bump die with a smaller size neck bushing to hold the bullet with minimal crimp, no expander. The shoulder bump should be redundant as headspace is already set by the sizing die and the trim die on the trim toolhead, but I like the "just in case" feature.

If I see this during a reloading session I simply remove the case after I seated the primer, don't advance the shell plate and again push the handle as if you seat a primer while using a toothbrush to clean the empty and popped out primer seat anvil. Reinsert the primed case and advance the shell plate. Carry on.

Got the follower in the mail and installed yesterday. Again, great service from the Nordic guys.
I'll bring the old one tomorrow.
As for the issue with the cheap Winchester ammo, it persisted with the few rounds I tried to cycle. Knowing the Remington Sport Loads work, I'm not going to mess with it for now.

Just to add to that, I had a PM from 2 guys at Nordic asking me to call them. They are getting one out today, so maybe I'll have it in time for my match on Sunday (I'm just 30 miles east of them). Outstanding customer service!

Thanks everybody for helping me to sort this out so quick. Hope to use it this Sunday in a match, I upgrade from a Mossberg 535 to this one. Just have to get a few more boxes of Remington now. Btw.... Mine doesn't feel like something binds when pumping.

I trimmed the spring as per the Nordic instructions. IIRC it says to cut it 16" longer than the tube.
First test completed: Remington shells cycle! Test was done with only 1 round in the tube to simulate the "last round issue". 15 rounds without hiccups using the Nordic follower.
I have attached a picture of the ejection port while pumped back. The Winchester round is stuck in the tube. It gets released when pumping forward. I also have this problem with Winchester X shells.

Yep... That's the 1, the Supernova-only version. Will try the original one tonight. Also got a box of Remington shells to try.

Ha! I once tried to size and trim military 308 using OS, but decided very short into the process that that wasn't going to cut it.
Tried the Dillon lube and never looked back.
