BAM inbound! I talked to Eddie today (great guy to deal with btw, he called me back even without me leaving a message) and he's shipping me a BAM.
I'll post an after picture once installed.

Wow, thanks guys! That puts me on a BAM mission. I tried calling Cameon's a few time today at 623-780-2708 but nobody there. I'm gonna try calling Eddie tomorrow as well.

Thanks, the BAM seems to be more supersized than others, but out of stock everywhere I looked. Cameon's webstore seems blank and directs to Ebay store which is also empty. I'll give 'm a call this week. BAM looks more promising than BAM II.

I've asked before and I believe the Dawson Heavy ICE or Big Ice was suggested. Looking at the Dawson website pictures I'm having my doubts if that is even going to help me. The STI tactical looks like it sticks out less or maybe this one

I don't have chrono data at hand, but AA#7 has worked well for me in 357 and 44 using std primers.
WW296 and spm primer gets easily >1650fps out of 5" barrel and that's just middle of the chart load.

I had a rear sight pin walking out. When I called STI they told me to ship the slide to them and they would replace the sight.
I ended up tapping the pin out a bit to each side and applied a drop of red loctite before tapping it back (had to be quick on the 2nd side). It seems to hold up so far.

Just thought I'd report back as I had to buy one and find out....
Cycling the press seems smooth, I'm not sure if or how much more smooth as I now load 45 on my 1050.
It doesn't look pretty though: It looks like the 2nd ring is located at the bottom of 230gr seating depth, my loaded 185 and 200's have a clear "wasp waist".
It's not likely I'm replacing my other (Dillon) sizing dies. I'm a Redding fan but this one seems like a solution looking for a problem.

The inserts I have are similar in function but they start with a small slit that only works with rifle bullet tips.

Yeah, I bought it in 223 and Got the conversion kit for 308 through Rick with the new 308 dropper.
Does the new model not need a nose guide block anymore? It's the little insert that tips an upside down bullet sideways so it can be flipped by the ramp.

Found out that the new spring tube adapter doesn't fit the old unit and that there is no nose guide plate in the conversion kit.
I hope Rick can help out or I'll have to buy a complete unit after all....

So I'm halfway setting up my new 1050 tool head for 45 and I'm noticing that when the powder measure clears the brass part of the bullet dropper by a hair, the tube of the powder measure rides against the primer alarm. At the end of the stroke it lifts the lid a bit. is there anything I'm missing or doing wrong? I don't believe it's going to cause issues, it just kind of bothers me a bit.

BullyDog, the follower may need a little help in the form of some additional weight. Also check the back of the primer slide, there is a piece of rubber (gas) hose that causes issues if its worn or torn.

I got myself a case sifter set (yellow, blue and black that fit on a 5 gal bucket). Main reason was they had a 380 insert. So... This morning I collected all dirty 38, 45, 9mm, some 357 and a few 40s I could find and tossed 'm in the big Dillon. I had to fire it up a few times for a second to make 'm all fit in there. Come to take 'm out and every single 45 has a 9 lodged in it. The I need nose pliers kind of lodged. I'm still trying to figure out what made me think this was a good idea...

Got the 1050 45acp conversion parts ordered and a Mr. B. conversion kit. I happened to be at Ace today and I also got a bracket, flange and pipe for the 650 as the hint of sharing seems attractive . Swapping the feeder is now super easy.

Silly question, but did you insert the follower? I taped a 158gr bullet to the top and as mentioned by others the nut should be snug but not tight.
the tip is blue for small primers and red for large.

Thank you! And with that I'm seeing a 3rd option. I think I'm going to dismantle my 223 tool head (for now) for the 1050 and repurpose it for 45. I loaded 223 about 5 years ago and my stash isn't going to run out anytime soon. Then I might as well get a 2nd bulletfeeder. It looks like the new type hangs on the case feeder and I'm hoping there is room enough to hang it on the 1050 without removing the old bulletfeeder. For 9 and maybe the rest I can just hang it on the 650 case feeder. Or just try it in 45 on the 650 first....

That's my assumption since there are no conversion kits available for Mr Bulletfeeder. Are you saying those calibers are close enough to 9mm and 45 to work? I would have thought if that were the case it would have been advertised as such.

I like the small primer pocket detection option! I shoot 45 the most, but in all honesty none of my quantities qualify for anything more than a 550 (which I have too), currently probably 150-200 rounds per week for 45.
To me it's all about comfort. Just loaded 400 rounds of 308, which with prepped brass I can do sitting with the handle in the short position - no push to seat a primer. I don't mind changing calibers on the 650, only thing I don't like about it is swapping the primer punch. A bulletfeeder on the 650 would not work with 38/357/44 anyways, just 9mm.
Remains the question of the powder activator vs the Mr Bulletfeeder funnel. Anyone?

I also have a 1050 setup in 308 with Mr Bulletfeeder.
It looks like I can change the 1050 from 308 to 45 by swapping the plastic thingy at the bottom of the case feeder tube and the tool head. I also need to buy the expander (would I need to run the swager?) and a powder activator, but a powder funnel is also included with the 45acp Bulletfeeder conversion kit. I would have to get the large spiral tube with the conversion kit as well. Adding up a 1050 tool head and Mr Bulletfeeder conversionkit in 45acp adds up to >$400.
Or I could just buy a Mr Bulletfeeder for my XL650 for $470.
The 1050 is a dedicated 308 press and on the 650 I load 9mm, 38sp, 357m, 44m and 45cap.
What would you do?
For who loads 45 on a 1050, do you use the funnel from the bulletfeeder or the Dillon powder activator?

I'm not sure if I notice a link between the gas setting in a FAL and the "ring effect"; I have seen first reloads of once fired brass (LC) having a ring when barely pooping the empty case out.
That said I use a SB sizing die and bump shoulders enough to accommodate tight headspaced LR-308 type rifles where the rotating bolt & carrier don't have the force of the FAL to smack an "out-of-spec" round in battery. I even pulled +/- 400 bullets and reloaded with 2 grains (WC846) less (different story - sloppy DPMS firing pin hole causing pierced primers) but still a hit & miss when it comes to the ring. Like you I'm guessing the original firing is the most likely cause.

Just changed calibers on my Dillon 650 from 45acp to 357m and it hit me how much easier 357 cycled through the press (both Dillon sizers). Anyone use the .45acp 2-ring Redding die on a 650 and notice the difference in effort to cycle the press compared to a Dillon sizing die?

If I were interested, I would be tweetering myself. I don't want to listen to newsreaders going on about hashtag this and hashtag that. Can't even watch deadliest Catch these days without tweeters in your face. I hate it!
And while I'm at it, I hate viral just as much. When I hear viral, I don't want to see it anymore or even know about it.
So there, off my chest. I feel better now.
