Hi Mike, I deeply regret that I have to confirm herewith that we have over here in Germany also very crazy politicians - no doubt about this fact. But - up to now they didn´t manage to disarm us ! And on the topic of pistol grip shotgun stocks - it is not much lost due to this regulation because on which occasions do you need a shotgun only equipped with a pistol grip ??? DVC THOR-HAMMER

Hi, In case you are EU-Citizen you need an European Firearms Certificate and an inviation from the match organizer and you are ready to go - exempted of course "Tony Blairs Island" In case you come from a not so cultured country you have to follow other procedures. DVC THOR-HAMMER

Hi Adrie, Which range in Denmark ? We are not able to rent a shooting bay in Philippsburg because the owner of this shooting range - beeing the German IPSC-Regional Director - does not approve such kind of private projects. His opinion is that such training projects should only be executed by the German Shooting Confederation - BDS. DVC THOR-HAMMER

Hi, Actually I am looking for a shooting range where a 2 days practical shotgun- and rifle class with 15 students could be held by mid of June 2006. The shooting range should have at least a 100 meter bay facility - better 300 meter if possible - furthermore steel targets (gongs/plates/pepper-popper) should be available. I have asked already several shooting club officials in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and in the Czech Republik - they all refused to rent us their shooting ranges. Obviously they have enough money in their club cash boxes and are not willing to assist the further development of the practical shooting sport. Any ideas where such a class could be held ? Hi Mike.45, Thank you very much for your reply. Due to the fact that I am shooting practical pistol, shotgun and rifle since approximately 25 years while living in Germany I know these German guys also very well. But speaking frankly - I don´t think that these guys are actually shooting on the same level as Mr. Kurt Miller or Mr. Matt Burkett - to name only two of the best 3-gunners actually living on planet earth. And we want to learn and to be trained only from the best instructors available - because in the near future we want to beat these nice US-guys in competition :-) DVC THOR-HAMMER P.S.: Your recommendations in your second post are much better and I am already in contact with one of the guys you named there.

Hello, We would like to hold a practical rifle and/or shotgun class on the other side of the big pond - in this case in Germany. Is somebody of the US top shooters / top instructors interested to come to Germany to hold such classes ? The main focus should be on IPSC-style practical shooting. Hi Dan, While shooting standard or modified division I am using fibre optic front and rear sights. When shooting open division I am using a red dot sight. To get peoples mind changed I initiated over here in Germany some kind of precision slug side event. The shooter is required to shoot 20 slugs at a PPS-1500-target in a distance of 100 meter, the oval 10-ring on this target is 15 cm high and 10 cm wide. Last time the winner came up with 198 points - that means that he had put 18 slugs in the 10-ring and only 2 in the 9-ring. He was using a Saiga shotgun with a smoothbore barrel equipped with a rifled choke. DVC THOR-HAMMER

No ! Out of my Benelli M3 Super 90 with a smoothbore barrel together with S&B slugs I can achieve under 20 cm at 100 meter shooting distance. Screwing in a rifled choke I am getting something under 15 cm. And no - I am not changing barrels while shooting an IPSC-match because it is not legal. DVC THOR-HAMMER

No agreement to this statement ! Since the invention of the shotgun and the early slug ammo some decades have passed and there happened some improvements meanwhile. With a modern shotgun and modern slug ammo you can easily achieve dispersions of under 20 cm at 100 meter shooting distance; with sabot type slugs under 10 cm ! Why limit this gun to half the distance only ? DVC THOR-HAMMER

THOR-HAMMER, When i am in Germany i always buy Lapua SK-Sportslugs 28 g 12/67,5 and Lapua SK birdshot 32 g 60 mm for pump and 62,5 for semie-auto. You ever tried them? Greetings Adrie Hi Adrie, Yes - I have tried this ammo also. I am not using this ammo because : 1.) The other brands of ammo I got in the past for a lower price. 2.) I found that the slugs from S&B are the most accurate out of my gun (dispersion under 20 cm at 100 meter shooting distance) 3.) I do not like to mix shells with different length (12 x 67,5 / 62,5 / 60) by shooting a match without cleaning the camber in-between - you are asking for possible trouble (extracting problems) if you do so ! And so far SK/LAPUA does not offer slug-shorties. 4.) Ammo from SK/LAPUA was not so readily available as the other brands. DVC THOR-HAMMER

Hi, Some time back the US armed forces adopted the gas operated Benelli M4 under the military type designation "M1014 - Joint Service Combat Shotgun" as their duty shotgun. How does this weapon perform in the field ? Any weak spots detected so far ? So far I have not seen much Benelli M4´s in usage by the 3-gun-community or the IPSC-community. Reason for this fact ? Hello, I am just curious why nearly nobody is using adjustable chokes in the shotgun action shooting disciplines like IPSC, USPSA or 3-Gun-Competitions. Early this year I purchased one adjustable titanium choke from TRUGLO. The choke is working fine with shot - but is unfortunately not shooting to the same POI with slugs; this is why - most probably - TRUGLO does not recommend in the instruction leaflet the usage of slugs. But what about the Poly-Choke ? They claim that their adjustable choke is also suitable for slugs. Has anyone hands-on experience with this device ? DVC THOR-HAMMER
