  1. I stippled my 320 grip and it worked great but I was looking for more grip. I ended up doing a silicone carbide (glue n grit). It’s way better than my stippled grip. I didn’t want to deal with the grip tape falling off either that’s why I went With the Glue n Grit. The best part about the 320 is you can always buy another grip if it doesn’t turn out and your out maybe $40.

I run SSI scale grips.  The only way to stop the grips becoming loose is to use JB cold weld epoxy on the contact surface between the grip panels and the frame, then apply red loctite on the screws.   Just the red loctite loosen up eventually around 8k or so for me.  With JB cold weld, it has held up for the past 50k with no sign of getting loose.

I actually ran scales when I first got it and I had the worst time keeping those tight. I did use a industrial grade metal super glue to try to keep them from moving but it lasted 1 match. Those grips were too small for me anyway and switched to glue and grit factory wood grips and they have been much much better but still come loose after a while. Maybe its just operator error? Lol

  3. On the fence about this one.  I shot limited all this year but will be moving back to production for next year and was planning on shooting my 320 again. I just got it back from Sig for the recall work and plan on putting a GG comp trigger in as well as buying a X5 grip module. My question is, is the X5 worth the upgrade? I do like the optic plate and rear sight combo option (I hate the small rear P320 sight). Does the gun track and handle that much better? I have shot 10rds out of one last year and it wasn't enough to form a opinion on it.  Just not sure it will be worth it to upgrade to the X5 ?

  4. My issue with the sight is the elevation screw is coming loose under recoil. I tried all the little tricks to get it to stop but even with red locktite the screw starts to move after 300rds. I put a dab of epoxy on it and am going to see how that works.

My extractor had the bottom little wave part that helps guide the case to the breech worn down so it would hang up at times. it was worn just slightly but a new one made all the difference.

I haven't tried a Oring under the screw yet but I red locktite the screws but it seems eventually they come loose at some point. Ill try the Oring. Thanks.

  5. Bought a used Limited .40 beginning of this year. Original owner said the pistol had 15-20k through it. I have put about 3-4k through it to now for this season. I know he replaced the  rear sight once. My rear sight just is starting to move and will need replaced again. My slide stop broke 500 rds ago. My extractor was causing FTF issues that was a issue with original owner. My grip screws keep coming loose. While these are not big issues and you'll likely run into same stuff on any gun, this is just my experience. A few local guys who shoot .40 cal Stock 2 minor for production always seem to shudder in fear when talking about shooting .40 major through their guns. Lol. When the gun runs its awesome. I just can't get it to go through a month of shooting with out annoying issues.

  6. I bought those Plastic Ebay grips on my Limited .40 after a split case blew my wood ones apart.  I ended up doing a silicone carbide on them and they worked great... at first.  With the warm weather here the grips pretty much melted and won't stay tight. After shooting a few stages during a match in the summer I could bend them completely in half. Just a heads up!

  7. I don't have a gold team but recently on my Limited .40 I was having feeding issues. Tried different bullets, tried multiple mags, even bought new mag tubes. Inspected the brass and found marks on where the extractor clips on. On certain brass it would gouge into the brass  and lock it up. Even if it didn't lock up you could feel it that it just wasn't smooth. Anyways found the extractor was worn, the little part on the bottom that helps guide the case into extractor was worn. Replaced the extractor and shot a major match last weekend and it functioned 100%. Good Luck!

  8. I had a LnL for about 3 years. When it works it works great. My biggest complaint was that after about 400-800 rounds I have to mess with the shell plate timing. I had the lock washer on the plate bolt, a rock solid bench (made a big improvement overall operation,) proper grease, etc. I just couldn't get it to not start going out of time. A lot of times just pulling the shell plate and cleaning and greasing the plate would help but it required pawl adjustment mostly. Maybe I had a crappy press? There were other things that I hated about it and had other issues with it but I will say when it worked it worked great. I was tired of constant adjusting and having issues with long reloading sessions so I sold it and bought a 650. Honestly I should have bought a 650 from the beginning. It just works. Ive loaded over 1500 rounds on it and have not had 1 issue so far. Im sure at some point I might  but for me and how much ammo I load it was the best decision I made in while. Lol.

  9. Ive since sold my LnL for a 650 but...

    On my 9mm I had:

    1-Size and decap

    2- Powder with PTX

    3- Powder Cop

    4- Bullet Feeder

5- Seat n Crimp (Lee die) Seat n Crimp worked well for me on my Production gun

    On .40 I had

    1- Size n decap

    2- Powder with PTX

    3-Powder Cop

    4-Bullet seater

5- Crimp (My limited gun didn't like the seat and crimp combo)

Thanks for the reply.  I might sand down the wood and epoxy/SiC them.

I tried the PD palm swell grips this weekend on another gun. I had the stock wood grips that I did a glue n grit on them. I prefer the stock grips. Its more comfy to me. I had a bad case the other week and ended up blowing the wood grips off of my gun so I bought the resin replica grips off Ebay and did a glue and grit on those also. They are working just as good.

I do 18 with the Henning extensions, just to make sure I can seat the magazines during a match. I can do 20+1 for a loaded start then 18 after that.

Having the gun go bang, clang when the mag hits the floor is no fun if I have a weak reload.

Thats exactly what I did this weekend. Only ran 20rds if it was a bigger stage and downloaded if it was a classifier that required a reload.

  12. I just ended up giving up.  Barney round 1 and then seat the 19-round mag in the gun.  Oh yeah and tug on it to ensure it's fully seated unless you get extra style points for punching out and having the mag drop to the ground.

Yeah that always is a option. With 19 my reloads are much more reliable.
