@johnbu the difference is that I took the time to remove the final 1mm or so by hand with a coarse curved file, then sanded it to contour with 80gr sandpaper wrapped around a wooden dowel, and finished with a dremel.

Thats why mine doesn't really have "this was ground on" looking edges.

No, it still has that look. @johnbu worked smarter, not harder. #LearnFromYourElders

Tanfos have in Europe a long and well earned repuation of cracking frames and slides when you shoot thousands of rounds in competition. CZs break only slide stops from time to time.

Tanfos can be made to work extremely well with Eric Grauffel custom parts but that does not help with the frames.

In Europe Tanfos were losing markets to CZ big time already before Shadow 2. CZs just plain work.

    Not.

Thanks. Guess I need a Shadow top end.

I'm sure there are tons of people that have a stock sp01 sear cage assembly they're willing to part with. I'd do that as a spare, rather than sourcing a shadow slide and milling it. Mill a sp01 top end.

Do you think if it makes too much contact with nose of bolo during the trigger pull back, it'll push bolo upward and cause early dropping of hammer? I almost have like scrape marks like bolo is really making significant contact. I don't ever recall my cz having that.

He took the bolo out and was still getting light hits. I will say I'm surprised it still occurred w the PD 14#. Yet moved to a lighter firing pin and it went away? Something isn't adding up. Esp since using the EG light spring. He literally went to lighter firing pin and spring and it cured the light strikes. That goes against pretty much every single persons experience here when tuning these.

Perfect screenshot to show you should still have had your pointer finger on the mag to guide it up and in. That's just a bad reload. Once it gets caught, you're trying to ram it in from the bottom, and it's not even close to being in the correct position.

Not trying to be negative, just realistic about what you're showing. Practice more!

  6. In the video, you're trying to shove it in from the bottom, before it even gets a chance to get in the magwell. Try gripping the mag higher, using your pointer finger as a guide into the magwell. Not sure if you already do this, but I couldn't see that well from the .gif.

Edit: by looking at the .gif you're trying to rock it in. You should have been able to tell it wasn't even close to entering the magwell correct, and slowed down to adjust. You can't just ram it in there (that's what she said).

Typically I only use a Type 2 disco with FPB CZ's to keep them legal for production/SSP.

The T3 is the "oversized" disco, not the T2. The T3 won't work with the FPB CZ's as I stated earlier. The T2 is drop-in, as the T3 is typically less likely depending on the competency of the person doing the trigger job. It's still smaller than the bolo. I know a Few guys that have gone the bolo route in their CZ ('s) over the T3 and been very happy.

I am not sure what you mean. I have fitted many oversized disconnectors to CZ75's in the past. Is the CGW sear that much different than stock?

Sorry, let me clarify - have you fit a Firing Pin Block model CZ75 with a T3? If so, did you replace the FPB lifter with a spacer (pictured below), or install a pre-b sear/cgw sear?

Personally I've decided I'll go back over and play in IDPA a little bit, but I'm not spending that kind of money on the "other" sport, which was my first love before I knew any better.

I will likely end up with a $325 Witness Steel 9mm with some severely reworked internals, and the slide milled for a 1911 or other common front sight dovetail to fit a fiber optic front blade.

I'm curious to see what a $500ish budget can do with this platform.

You'll reach that budget with just the gun and mill work.

Is that speculation or confirmed? Hadn't heard they were trying to get an import contract, but if they did I'd buy another SIII from PD just to support them.

That's me just wishing on a star after the horrible customer service EAA provided me. On numerous occasions.

    Update:

I did email Tanfoglio about these Unica parts.  They clarified that these parts "are offered for Stock 2, 3, Limited Pro, etc.", as the product page on their official website indicates.  Tanfoglio considers these USPSA and IPSC Production legal parts.

The other thing they pointed out is that Tanfoglio indeed ships Stock 2/3 or Xtreme versions of those with Unica parts upon customer demands in Europe, but not in the USA probably due to firearm importing regulations/overheads.

EAA a third party vendor. They buy, then resell. It just happens that Tanfo deals only with them for USA import and distribution. EAA isn't going to order custom guns for anyone; they can barely handle customer service. Hopefully patriot defense wins the next contract for importation from Tanfo...

I really see no point in the Xtreme Models if you shoot USPSA. The PD parts are producing much better results than the Xtreme parts. Given the price point in the US for a new S2/3 you could put PD parts into a new gun for less than an Xtreme. If you shoot IPSC then thats a different story.

    Agreed.
