My issues:
The BOLO says that it will only work with gen 2 trigger bar- is this correct?
1 hour ago, tattooo said:Looks like somebody had a rough day and passed it along.... if your gonna help out dont be all high and mighty about it....Jeez
Nowhere does it say the bolo only works with the gen 2 trigger bar. So, not only is OP incapable of basic reading and comprehension, but he is asking us for help with a problem, while making up his own techncal product specifications. Yes, that does irritate me...

It was a bit unclear on their site as their product descriptions are less than useful.
I'm sorry you find my question annoying socal, but when you don't know what to search, the search feature is a bit hard to use effectively.
Thanks for the info @SouperMan, appreciate the help.
Search 1: bolo, trigger bar, gen 2
Search 2: bolo, safety, fit
-
But to answer your questions -
1. The bolo works with gen 1 AND gen 2 trigger bars. There is just a different mod for the gen 2.
2. The safety not working. You'll need to use the search feature here... I refuse to let you off that easy.

Did you email or call Patriot Defense? I'm guessing no, since youre asking questions that would easily be answered in the product description, on the PD website...

I run a 15.5 PD hammer spring with a well broken in and polished Stock ll. It has a sub 6 pound DA and very sub 2 pound SA. Hits properly seated Winchester, S&B, Fiocchi and of course Federal primers. I ran the 14 pound spring but had some light strikes at bad times. I'm sure it was primer seating problems. I went to the 15.5 to make things easier.
My current problem is seating primers too deep. Turns out .014" is crushed too much and will not fire. Now to get the right feel.
Sort your brass by headstamp.

I run 10# in two guns with 100% success, using Win primers. Two things need to happen:
1. Tune your bolo for longer DA stroke by removing material from the nose.
2. Your primers need to be .008-.010" deep. Preferably with an indentation mark.
The bolo is not preventing the use of a 10# spring - the tune/set-up is.

That is Tanfo talk for getting primers deep enough to run 100%
I use .010

I can tell you right now, that S&B primers are a no go with the 13 pound P D Springs but good to go with winchesters that are seated Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. (.006) and good with federals ( .003). What factory ammo are you using?
.006 is deep.
.010 is deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
No dimple, no care.

I know a lot that have done it, none regret doing it. Might even improve accuracy ;-) Look up Taylor Throating.
You'd be better off sending to PD.

It's kind of confusing when most people think about it - they think they're taking a spec barrel and reaming it.
It's the opposite with the tanfos - they are coming put of the factory out of spec and undersized. The reamer at patriot defense will put your chamber and lead at a SAAMI spec.

What's custom about your grips?

My suggestion - 38SC

Yes, 100%

DAA alpha x all the way. You'll be very happy with it.

Just to clarify for those wondering - this is why he is getting the early DA drop. The previous owner attempted to fit, what appears to be a bolo or t3, with the stock hammer. The wing was filed too much, and the angle no longer supported the disco on the trigger bar. That 45° angle needs to be a 90° angle.
-
This is very imoortant: either 1. Run the stock disco, or 2. Get a bolo AND a titan hammer. Don't get a bolo with the stock hammer, like you already have.
Good luck and keep us in the loop.
-
You can see in picture 3, that is a poorly fit disconnector. You need a new one. It looks like a T3, but may very well be a bolo. Either way, you can see that one has a cut on the wing and a few other places. Either put a stock disco back in or order a bolo.
Edit: it looks like that because the person that installed it did not use a titan hammer, and did not fit it correctly. So, either run a stock disco, or get a titan/bolo combo. Can't fault the parts because of a garbage gunsmith.

Does the hammer tend to drop sooner when you slowly pull the trigger back or when you just pull as hard as you can?
I'd take the gun apart and look at the disconnector. Specifically the right wing if it's a two wing. Send a pic if you can. This man knows.

I will. Unfortunately it caused me to loose 1 round capacity in one 140 mag and 2 rounds in another 140 mag. My 170 mag can only hold 27
I'll let you know how they work

Tune your spring, maybe the follower. If you clip a few coils, you'll get your capacity back. Just don't get crazy, you'll loose feeding for last round or two, if you cut too many.

Nailed it. Excellent job. This is exactly what Tanfo users, that are using MBX mags, should do. This is what I was explaining - sorry I didn't get around to posting pics.
Well done.

Excellent trigger. If you take the pretravel screw out and run it with a bolo/titan set up, you'll love it even more.
I put one in JJ's SAO gun with a delta, since he didn't have a titan, at the time.

What you don't see is the backend of posts like these. OP makes this post - there will be 10 other people that stop reading at "bolo doesn't work with Gen 2 trigger bar." and now I have to explain to all those people that OP didn't know what he was talking about, when it CLEARLY states on the website the technical and modification requirements to get a bolo to fit in a specific platform. That takes away time I have available for people who actually have read the product description, understand it, but just need a little more clarification or help. I can guarantee you, for every post you make like this, there are 100 other people that picked-up the phone or sent an email, and got whatever issue they had, worked out in a matter of minutes. This doesn't extend to just "regular business hours." Send and email or ask for a call back - it'll happen within the hour... unless I'm asleep. For instance, just the other day, on a Sunday, I was at the zoo with my family. I took almost the entire time there to correspond with a customer in South Africa about fitting a bolo. So, contrary to Enos popular belief, my level of respect for bolo customers is beyond what you can comprehend.
Be part of the solution if there is a problem - how can it be improved? I will gladly amend any confusing parts of the product description or technical/fitting descriptions. Thanks
Lol, if you only knew the amount of time I spend helping customers. 10/10 people that just read what your wrote are thinking - "When I contacted them, their customer service was GREAT." It's just every once in a while, one of these OP's pop up, and it rustles my jimmies. Also, I don't work for PD.
