Nice. That’s a good deal.My gf just laughed at me when I told her she should buy me one.

Both are really good quality. I shoot blue because they ship fast to me, good quality and 10% discount on 10k+. I like that the new ones don’t give smurf fingers also.
-
That’s a really good diagram to show people how profile affects oal.
-
I haven’t shot a g5 17. the 34 MOS is a really solid overall performer for competition.

I run 200 blues with 4.3gr N320 @1.185 and runs about 170 pf out of a 5" Schuemann barrel. Been very happy with it.

3.7gr-3.8gr. Makes power factor out of glock 34 factory barrel, but you may need 4.0gr To be safe and get good accuracy.
Thats pretty much my 124 gr load also. Have had good results with it.

Congrats.

The 35 is a solid platform. I started with a gen 3 35 in Ltd and now I shoot it in production. You can’t really go wrong with it. I have thought about building a TF sightblock gun out of a Leo trade in 22 for the hell of it. The 35 offers more flexibility overall in case you want to use it in prod.
The frame weight has has limited holster availability and if you go non-kydex you will have to mod it. If you go custom kydex you will have to have a very clean draw or it will bind.ghost holster isn’t too bad of a mod job but the locking mechanism is a bit awkward.

I was going the math and 5.0 is a few tenths more than expected. I use 3.2 with a 200 gr blue and make about 133pf.
so 3.2/.75=4.26 gr and you will need a bit more of jhp vs moly. Not sure what your oal is, I run about 1.135 and shooting from a g35.

I was trying to point out is how off the rails the conversation was getting from the actual question with the CO competition debate.

This thread seems to have taken a serious turn from the OP’s question of looking for edc optic suggestion.

co: g34

Be willing to give up close Charlies to push more speed and remember that you have a lot more ammo

Seems like a rds on a defensive edc gun is more of a liability. If my life is on the line, I like simple and reliable. Most likely it is going to be < 7 yards and probably more point shooting with a slight sight overlay. I trust my index for center mass at that range. Just my 2 cents.
I do like the RMR overall though.

What is your load data?

Feeding reliability, bottom line
Yup. Find a length that your gun likes and go from there.

Had to readjust my loads to make 125k.... Wow was way low.
Got over 5.0gr of N320 just to make minor on the 150gr JHP...... Holy!Wow. That is a lot more powder than I would think.
-
In theory you should get better feeding when the bullet has less distance to travel to hit the feed ramp.
-
Longer oal might help in feeding for a 2011. It should lower the pressure a little also but may take a little more powder to make the same velocity.
-
I generally load 9mm to run across multiple platforms. My sti eats them really well so I haven’t bothered loading long.
-
The last time I got a guide rod from them it was just a Glockstore branded one and I got replacements from them. 13 should work.

I was able to find that it is used in the non-toxic Federal Premium BallistiClean frangie ammo.
if anyone has reloaded it, let me know.
