  1. Ok guys,  just a heads up. It happened. Shot myself in the foot. New E2 grip and pinned safety. Had everything down pat and started doing turn and draws.

The E2 fits my double Alpha racer holster a little different. Was snagging. Thought I had it worked out and went back to live fire. Was pushing the drill hard, snagged and bang.

No excuses for disnegaging safety in the motion.

I normally disengage at about a 45 degree arc in my draw.

If any can learn from my mistake please do....

    Buddy driving me now.

  2. My E2 grip came yesterday. Will see this weekend how I like the extra weight vs the plastic grip.

I am mainly changing due to the flex in the plastic grip. During a mag change I could grip it firm enough to stop the magazine from dropping. I had stippled the grip but really did not remove any plastic. The front strap area on my plastic grip seems thin.

I know some love the hundo gauge or the other similar alternatives.

I find them overly restrictive. Yes I do believe that rounds that pass the hundo gauge will probably chamber 100% of the time in my gun.

But so will rounds that I check in my actual chamber.

Once I get my process dialed in for a given load I can almost guarantee that my rounds will chamber.

For practice rounds that is good enough for me.

For match ammo: Since I am already cleaning my gun prior to the match it is no problem to grab my nice clean barrel and plunk the 250/500 rounds I need for the match.

Now I know they fit in my barrel and I don't give a hoot if they fit in the hundo or not. And some of them won't.

So I would suggest you save the $110 and buy yourself some other goodie. ?

Just curious, do you own a Hundo??

I hated to spend that on one, but man it saves time! At 10K Rds this year alone, it really speed things up.

Frankford Arsenal Vibra Prime. After I deburred mine and learned it's quirks, I love it!

  4. I also see very little evidence of second lug engagement. Maybe a smidge at 10oclock. With that many rounds at that power factor, you should see evidence of second lug engagement.

Also does look like most of first lug engagement is concentrated In the 10-11 range. Fit does not look square.

First lug is doing all the work. That can lead to shearing off the edge of the first lug . Google Schueman barrel timing article.

  5. Mine has the first popple hole even further away (not a short) and gets stuff on the right side ..

I used to shoot Blue Bullets and the haze was horrible and real hard to remove.

Switched to Precision Delta and now I could probably go  2 matches. Before it was 2 stages.

I believe some of it was the polymer coating on the Blue Bullets.

  6. When I would roll the gun in my hand to reach the mag release, my finger tips all end up in the middle of the front strap area. Enough pressure to deform the middle of the front strap and mash it into the magazine.

Dykem'd all my mags today. The drop free with no marks, till I squeeze....

Will post up pics of the fitting and finish when it gets here.

  7. Less than 2 weeks from the NC and TN state matches, tired of fighting magazine ejection issues with STI plastic grip.

I tuned my 2 STI mags and thought I had cured it.

When getting really aggressive on mag changes I sometimes have mags that do not fall out. Thought it was just the STI mags. Been running about 300 Rds of live fire 3 times a week practicing core skills. Noticed it doing mag change practice.

I  can duplicate the grip squeeze and cause every mag I have to drag! MBX And STI.

So the E2 is on the way!

  8. Dry fire every day but Wednesday ( have my grandson that day), live fire 3 times last week up till now.

20 yard double time are consistent 1.3-1.4. draw times at 20 are consistent 1.teens with some 1.08 occasionally. Dry fire paying off here.

09-04 first try last range day was an A class. Several Master class score in practice. Fastest time was 3.26 but had a Mike. Had to slow down to 3.5-3.6 to get all hits.

Practiced table starts. 2 seconds best and unloaded but holstered. Average 2 with some 1.75-1.8

Practiced some 5 yard Sprint with a reload. 3 seconds to 3.5.....

Dry fire pays off on sight pick up from draw!

  9. Currently B in CO and PCC and C in open. Just a few points away in Open from B. I have two level II matches this month, looking for class bump to B. Goal is to be at least A by December which will be 12 months in Open.

Ultimately would like to hit Master in Open, then bring my other divisions up.

Small Pistol Primers + 9 Major loads = Failboat................ Use Small Rifle Primers and enjoy not having these problems anymore.

I am now at the 12K round count with Win small pistol and 9Major!

No issues since installing a Matt McLean extended firing pin around 500-700 round count ....

Hahaha YES. Not even in the same ballpark.

Please explain reasons? I own neither, but curious as to what makes one better than the other?

Accuracy? Speed? Fit and finish? Reliability?

I realize that when we look at how much we are spending here, personal reasons such as looks, finish etc play a huge roll.
