Do you shoot Reloaded ammo or off the shelf ?

I shoot 100, 115, 124, 147 and 165. The 147's show almost no jump when fired with an Alchin Comp. All at 1.140

Loaded on a Dillon with a Lee Factory Crimp Die.

    Now 147g Blue Bullets N340 3.8g  OAL 1.140

  2. I had the Cmore on it and had to build a cheek pad out of pieces of yoga mat and

a elastic knee brace the brought the stock up 5/8". But I hated it.

Then I got a mount from Brian for a Venom that replaced the rear sight.

Thought I had it made in the shade. Then the problems started.

When I first got it I shot a couple of hundred rnds with irons.

It was very fast and accurate.

    But i shoot steel with a 22/45.

I'm POed because I like the rifle. I think if the extractor issue is solved i'll be happy with it.

I am also with you. When i first got it I shot at least a 1000rnds of 100g to 165g bullets without a hiccup and never cleaned it.

Now after a couple thousand rnds its starts having issues.

  3. I thought about stretching the spring.

I think the extractor needs a mod in the shape of the hook and the depth.

If you compare it to other extractors an look at how it fits in the case notch above the rim

    It doesn't compare.

Ruger needs to make parts available. Namely, Firing Pin and spring , Extractor and spring, ejector and recoil spring.

I would be more then happy to purchase these to have as spares.

I would like to know how rnds shooters put through the Carbine before cleaning.

  4. To late for the pictures I put it back together. Will try and take some next cleaning.

A case in the end of the bolt it pretty loose compared to several other guns .

I am trying to get another extractor. When I do I will modify this one.

The only place you can get any is Ruger and I cant find where you can buy spare parts.

If you cant get spare parts you cant use it for competition.

Maybe the rifle was dirty. Maybe there is not enough tension.

The bolt face was extremely dirty.

Guess I'll work on my AR and see if I can dial it in.

BTW.....doing the mod to the extractor like Frozen did......also seems to help as well. Really hope someone address's the extractor at some point in the after market world

Not sure I follow this. Can you tell me or point me to the Frozen mod?

  6. I shoot 100, 115, 124, 147 and 165. The 147's show almost no jump when fired with an Alchin Comp.

Loaded on a Dillon with a Lee Factory Crimp Die.

    N340 3.8g  OAL 1.140

It was amazing to me that the Carbine eats anything!

The 100's were a little hot and I think the copper was coming off.

I liked the 147's so i stuck with them.

I need to put the bolt back together and see how well it holds the case.

The other thing is you have to completely disassemble the rifle for cleaning.

You cant just take the barrel of and shoot some brake cleaner on the bolt.

Trigger group needs virtually no cleaning.

And around the top of the mag well and ejector just needs to be wiped out.

The bolt takes all the carbon and crap.

Its hard to tell with the side pictures of the extractor if mine is worn more.

Regardless I have been looking at extractors on my other 9's and they definitely have a more pronounced hook and notch for the case rim.

The Ruger extractor it looks like a good failure point.

I cant get a decent picture of my extractor.

Hopefully someone will come up with a more reliable extractor.

Look I love the rifle but!

  7. I am sure there will be plenty of aftermarket parts eventually.

The thing is when I first got it, it was great super accurate and when

I got the plate from Brian for the rear sight mount of the red dot I thought

I was in business. Got rid of my cheek pad and went for it.

So now I have had issues at 3 matches.

The thing is it out shoots the AR period.

  8. Can you turn it on its side and take the picture?

I shoot with another guy that also has the same problem.

It's intermittent but it never happened before.

I almost DQ'ed last night. I had to shoot out the last rnd twice.

+ the gun gets pretty dirty unlike the AR.

I just looked at the extractor on a new hybrid bolt I have and hook is quite a bit more pronounced.

I need to do more investigation.

Personally I would just run the brimstone trigger if you want an overtravel stop. So much cleaner install, hammers and sears seem to vary, some are happy with the ones they used

So since I don't have a 10/22 and am not familiar with any of the trigger group parts. How about a list of 10/22 parts you  use in the PC Carbine.

And all I see is Brimstone the brimstone trigger and work on the Ruger 10/22 stock trigger. Does Brimstone make other 10/22 parts?

.  I shot the match clean but slower than I would have with my AR 9mm.  I find I cannot move the same way I would have if I had a pistol grip stock. mbx COMP.  I am surprised how flat

Pretty interesting I have the same issue . On my AR I have a vertical grip. And I find that I shoot it much faster although the groups are not as tight. I told someone else that I shoot with

and has a Ruger I was going to try the AR this weekend.

  11. I just got my Beartooth Comb Raising Kit 2.0. I spent almost 1 hour trying to get it to fit. Couple of things.

Its to long for the Ruger stock. The thicker pads do not conform to the top of the stock pushing you head to the side. It worked, but my cheek weld with the 1/2" and 5/8" pad

put the dot to the left of the window. I am back to my ugly stock until I find a stick on that is 1/2"

  12. I am in agreement. The lever never worked for me. Flexed to much and actually jammed. After I took the lever off I put the button on the weak side. I shot 2 stages and on both running down

the lane I moved my weak hand back and inadvertently dropped the mag. I moved it to the strong side and it works as should. Mostly doing a mag change is  during classifiers. If a manufacture can make a lever works I am in. One other thing is I put the charge handle on and then took it off the Ruger works fine. I haven had a jam yet so the charge handle I believe

doesn't need to be extended.   The gun eats anything. Sub minor or even major. 100g to 165g bullets. All different loads and powders.

I've got that on my 10/22. The spacers are mix and match different sizes so you stack them to get the right height. I wrapped the foam with electrical tape and then slid the cover over because the foam would roll out of place on it's own.

Works great, looks a bit ugly

  14. I found a cheek rest that is made out of neoprene and can go from 1/8" to 5/8" that should put me on the center of the dot.

Yep. He made one for a friend of mines Ruger and then made one for me. I have an Alchin comp on one of my Ruger steel rimfire guns. Just some info for the

rimfire guns. I was using CCI Standard Velocity and moved to MiniMags. More gas.

What distance are you shooting your double taps?

I have been noticing the groups that close (around 1") since I moved from 100g RNHB to the 115s. I shot 6 stages so far with the 115s. Distances are variable. Double tap groups are tighter then I have ever had with any of my guns. Other shooters are telling me the gun

doesn't jump. Only thing I am changing now is the cheek plate and will make it more permanent. I am going to wait a couple more months before i start butchering the plastic.

I see they make a  PCC specific comp.  I like the MBX the best so far but I have only tried the MBX, Taccom 2 port, and a JP.  I really do not care for the aesthetics of the MBX.  I just ordered the Allchin to see how it goes.

I have a Taccom on my AR Carbine. I shoot with a guy that makes a 3 port that a bunch are using on there AR's. I like the Ruger much more.

I am considering making a stock but plate out of starboard in the shape of the MBX "Fang" .

I have to almost hold the rifle on top of my shoulder to get a good cheek weld with a Cmore on the gun.

    Looking for ideas.

I made a temporary cheek rest out of strips of yoga mat and athletic wrap. It sits up 1/2". It worked but I need a little bit more to get the correct view of the Cmore dot.

Then i think I may get the Baretta Gel Tec cheek pad and put some adhesive foam from Wallmart under it to get it to the proper height and be done with that issue. My next

project may be to cut a triangle out of the stock. The gun has great balance but its a bit heavy. I also think I finally found the load but haven't chroned it yet.

115g  over 4.8g HP38 at 1.135. Using an Alchin Comp. Double tap groups are about 1". The guns is sweet!

My release lever did the same thing...until I applied a little TW-25B to the stainless steel spacer...now all is well.

I put some Super Lube on it and got it to work a little bit but it was still hard to press.

I am going to polish the edges to a mirror finish then try it again.

For now put the button back on.

Keep the detent in place and tighten the screw. once everything is tight, rotate the lever counter clockwise untill the lever is stopped by the detent hitting the top of the hole.

I re installed the lever being careful to rotate the lever as far down as it would go before tightening the screw. Attached is a picture of the lever being pressed by my trigger finger.5ad1e9ad6fd23_20180414_073059b.thumb.jpg.bd67417cea7b77aa90fc09b996547cc4.jpg
