  1. Just recently got into loading with a 650...was hard to keep up with the amount my wife an I shoot using a 550. I'm thinking I should load like 5k and stay well stocked up so I can focus on other things rather then trying to keep up with loading. Just curious how many rounds you guys load and stock up on before I get to crazy playing with this 650 ?

  2. Yup...it happened today. Go to do a mag change and boom goes the dynamite after I seated the new mag. Had my finger where it shouldn't be and well....sent one over the berm. Scared the ? out of me! Trying to be fast and getting ahead of myself. Time to dial it back and practice some reloads. Hanging my head in shame till the next match. ?

  3. Like others said 650...I bought the 550 years ago and didn't listen to those that said 650....I was wrong and have regretted it ever since..someday I'll get a 650 but in the mean time I'll keep complaining that I can barely keep up reloading cuz I didn't buy the right press

  4. I don't want to be the negative Nancy but...$1200 does not seem like it will go along way with a lim gun....not to mention the gear, mags etc. I got into a 2011 and shooting limited cuz I won one in a raffle and it has become the most expensive free thing ever. But it's so much more fun than shooting production!

  5. I have only ever come across one person who cast their own bullets. He showed me the whole process and it was pretty cool. That being said... I thought it was something I wanted to do until I saw it all first hand. Looks like a lot could go wrong...fire, lead posining, noxious fumes, screwing up the hardness etc. I can barely keep up with reloading to support my shooting habit let alone casting bullets as it would add a whole lot of time to the reloading process. I'd have to be retired with literally nothing else to do before I could get into casting.

  6. I wondered what this "40 long" business was all about when I got into limited with a 2011...now that I've been to the range with both my 40 long loads and factory length ammo I See the difference..Intermittent feeding issues with the shorter ammo. Loading longer...just under 1.2 for me a my lim guns run perfect.

  7. I'm weak at stage planning also...went to limited nationals and shot with a lot of guys above my lvl...shooting 22 stages with A's, M's & GM's taught me a lot about planning. I didn't try to mimic what they were doing at the time for obvious reason but sure gave me a lot of insight of what I need to work on to get better.
