Are there any magwells that work with the factory SP-01 basepads? Or is it just a requirement that you switch to something fancy/aluminum?

I can't answer your question directly but the SP01 mags upward travel is limited by the floorplate's contact with the frame. I assume that most magwells are going to change the magazine's relationship to the mag catch. CZ has a Chechmate style magwell that doesn't have any floorplate warnings so maybe that's possible a solution?

  2. The P09 just feels off. All the weight is in the huge slide and the pistol has a terrible trigger. If I'm going to shoot a plastic pistol I'm not going to waste my time with DA/SA. Come on CZ, let's see a full size P10!

  3. I have a RHT on a SP hanger. There isn't any interference for irons or MRD. Most of the competition based holsters are open from the front of the slide breech back according to USPSA and IDPA rules. The RHT holster is rigid and fits very precisely, especially with the thumb screws.

I think the 170mm ETS mags are a little akward. Also they are so light that they come out of the gun pretty slow when trying to do quick reloads. That is the one downside to these. They are super light.

That's my biggest gripe with ETS; I can hardly get them out of the gun. I went back to mags with extensions because the ETS mags are so sluggish. OK range mags though.

  5. Mixed brass means mixed case capacity and variation in pressure. Never say never but I doubt you'll ever get great consistency with mixed range brass. So long as I make PF and it's accurate I don't care, pistols are not generally shot at distances that 50fps ES is noticeable. I'd also guess that if you're using mixed range brass accuracy isn't a limiting factor either. If you need extremely consistent ammo I'd start with either new or brass that is all from the same lot and then work up the OCW.

He's saying that ammo that needs to be loaded .03-.04 shorter for a CZ, XD, or Tanfo will work fine in the longer-throated Glocks, M&Ps, Sigs, etc., and he's right.  He's not saying super short ammo in general.  He's talking about a difference of less than a dime's thickness.

Sounds like your're saying it's not a problem unless it is. A dime's thickness is enough to choke a factory CZ barrel.

  7. You can take a Gen 3 trigger an drop it straight into a Gen 4. I'm running a 6lb return springs and lightened striker springs. I have various spring kits in three different Gen 4's and have none of the issues listed above. I think at this point I have tried a dozen different disconnectors, every spring combination mentioned in this thread, and multiple drop in triggers. The only issues I've seen (outside of trigger feel preference) are too light recoil springs that cause the slide to retract with the striker (not my gun). Glocks are painfully simple, buy a few springs and disconnectors and try them out.

  8. No, they're actually shorter internally than factory Glock mags. My reloads that function 100% in Glock mags are almost a problem in ETS mags. If I drop the mags in the dirt a few times my reloads will start to hang up in the tubes.

  9. I'd rather ream the throat than ever have to worry about COL. I bought a reamer from brownells and took care of it myself. My Shadow will fit any bullet that will fit in any of my other pistols and I can still reach the lands within the magazine COL limits. I realize there is a concern with the nitride coating but pistols don't generally generate that much heat or wear out throats. My vote is to ream it out.

  10. I shoot both a G34 and SP01 Shadow. I switched to the Glock from an M&P and initially had trouble pushing shots left. I don't have that problem with the Shadow. I found that my natural tendency to press the trigger with the center of my finger didn't work for some reason with the Glock. As soon as I started burying my finger in the trigger I stopped pushing left. There is a Pat Mac video on Youtube that discusses finger placement and training, it's worth watching.

Perhaps after I finish loading these 7500 rounds! I didn't want to do Titegroup since I am consistently reading that it is very to explode your gun with it.

It's easy to explode your gun doing any number of things incorrectly. I'd be more concerned with squibs as a new reloader jumping into a fiddly progressive press right out of the gate.

  12. I looked for a powder that worked for a bunch of different cartridges and bullet weights while being cheap. I tinkered until I got it to work and then spent the rest on more lead and range brass. Titegroup all the things. I don't care if it's dirty (it's no worse than other powders mentioned by others).

  13. I have ten ETS 9mm 140mm mags as well as standard 17rd ETS mags. The 140mm mags don't feed right with 22 rounds in them; they get a light stem bind that is corrected by tapping the slide. if I download the magazines to 21 rounds they feed fine. They are very difficult to insert loaded with 22 rounds on a closed slide. They were $12ea though so I'd probably still buy them again.

  14. I have two of the Gen 4 guide rods in two different G34's. They were initially pretty difficult to insert, it felt like the reciprocating end was binding on the rod. After fiddling they went in but were difficult to get out. They both have a few thousand rounds on them now and are much easier to get in. They still have the binding feeling to get out but much less than before. None of this has any discernible effect when pulling back the slide manually or firing the pistol.
