Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Nimitz, I'm with you but then again I'm kinda hard core. LOL I carry a set of steel in my truck at all times. Our previous MD got lazy and started setting four stages total because it was too hot in the Summer, then because ammo was short. Now, I'm pretty much in charge and we run 6 official stages monthly and all scores are uploaded to SCSA. That is a pieve of mine. I hate going to a match out of town and never seeing the scores posted. I think that is half the fun of competing, we all want to see our improvements and how we are doing compared to the rest. I have been considering adding a made up stage, and I'm sure it would be fun, I am just not sure about diluting Steel Challenge. I guess we can try it and see the reaction.
  2. When I started shooting SC 3 years ago I went through a ton of mouse fart loads thinking it would help. Once I go faster I figured out that on the longer shots I was having to wait to hear the ding before continuing. It caused hesitation. Heck I got to where the a 25 yard shot followed by a close shot nearly hit at the same time. LOL Now I shoot hotter loads with my revolver and run faster than most of the rimfire. So what difference does power factor really make? Let people play with their loads, in the long run like was said before, it's going to come down to who puts in the work.
  3. CCPRC is teaming up with the NAS Aviator Foundation for a two day steel challenge event Oct. 24 & 25. (8 stages both days) Saturday the 24th is the fundraiser portion @ $65 which will include lunch, a t-shirt, and prizes. Sunday will be the CCPRC portion @ $20. Lunch will be available for purchase. Scores from both days will be combined and plaques will be awarded to the top shooters . You don't have to shoot both days to be eligible. If you want to shoot a third gun there will be a handful of spots on Friday with the RO's and volunteers. For more information and links to registration forms email Byron Hough seabear@2-houghs.com I tried adding the links to registration but the forum kept locking up. Come join us for some great fun !
