I live in sunny Jacksonville, a 5th generation Florida Cracker. I am a Navy vet, my last duty station was Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where I was the Naval Station Armorer as well as gunsmith, weapons and marksmanship instructor, security trainer, range master, designated marksman and Chief Executive Officer In Charge Of Diddly Squat. I've done some IPSC shooting back in the early 90's as well as competing at the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard Rifle and Pistol Championship. My favorite thing to do is prove people wrong when they say an AR-15 is not accurate at 1,000 yards and that no 1911 .45ACP on the planet can outshoot their deer rifle at 100 yards. I am a member at the Gateway Rifle and Pistol Club here in Jacksonville where I shoot a little of everything that goes bang and occasionally I even hit something. I've recently gotten back into handloading and I'm interested in trying my hand at competing with an open major gun. So my days of lurking here are over and I'm going to start asking questions and getting more involved.
