Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Can anyone let me know if there is a weaver mount made to fit a HK USP tactical 45 auto? And if one is made, who makes it?
  2. I am located in the Phoenix area, and we have a state run range called Ben Avery. I took my wife there to teach her how to shoot. Now this girl was afraid of guns, in fact her whole life she hated them. I have been shooting since I was about 9 years old, and didn't learn any proper technique until I joined the Army. In my opinion guys let someone else teach your wife to shoot, because you will probably piss her off. Even if you are fine teaching someone else, teaching your wife anything is a whole different beast. Anyway, the point to all this is when we went out to shoot, one of the range guys told us about a program they had called Annie Oakley Shoot. It is a great program that is once a week and there is no men allowed. They furnish the guns, and the ammo, and give them a lot of great instruction. They start them out with .22's, which is way better for her to learn with than my 9mm. Now she loves to shoot, and she avoided all the bad shooting habits I would have taught her. And she is now one hell of a shot.
  3. Forgot to mention, on Gunbroker it's a whole different story. I did get screwed by a non-paying bidder for an AR15, and another idiot on a Glock 19, that payed by paypal and after I shipped it to the FFL address, about 2 months later paypal subtracteed the money from my account because the moron told them it was fraud. Which after investigating I found out it was not. What really happened was, he was a felon and somehow didn't know he couldn't buy a firearm. So I had to contact the FFL, so he could ship it back. But what really suckes is I had to have it shipped to an FFL even though it was my damn gun! I pretty much have given up on Gunbroker for several reasons.
  4. I was actually a power seller on ebay for a while, but tapered off on my listings for a while so they took my power seller status away. But I didn't have to many problems with non-paying bidders, partly because I was pretty clear about the merchandise I was selling, and partly because I won't hesitate to file a non-paying bidder alert on someone. If they get two they are suspended for good from eBay. I'm sure most of you are thinking, "well, why would'nt they just start a new account". And the reason is, eBay collects quite a bit of info on you, and you would have to go to quite a bit of trouble to open a new account. You would have to open it under a new name, and you would have to have a credit card on file for that name. A new paypal account, and a new email address. Not to mention, it is a pain to get your feedback numbers high, starting over would just suck. I used to also write in my ad that, no bidding unless you have at least 10 feedbacks, and none of them negative.
  5. Good point, I personally believe that the earth has more oil then we will ever need. We know more about outer space then we do of the inside of our own planet. But trying to get to that oil is not cost effective. There are so many factors that are affecting this issue, and we as the little guys have little choice but to just hang on for the ride.
  6. Personally, I think China is the largest factor in what is going on. Their oil consumption is way up. As a matter of fact their oil consumption grows by 7.5% per year, that’s seven times faster then the U.S. I guess they need all that oil to manufacture every damn thing sold in the U.S. Not to mention the incredible amounts it takes to build up their military. All I can say is they are coming, maybe not now. But believe it when I say they are on their way. And their first stop is Taiwan. Remember that, each time you pass up a product made in the U.S. or by one of our allies, for a cheaper piece of Chinese crap. Just ask Dillon Precision, who descided to drop OKO to go with a cheaper, and lower quality Chinese sight for a few more pennies profit. And I'm sure if you all think hard you can come up with an instance where you have been affected by the Reds, need I say Wal-Mart anyone. If we don't wake up now, and get our butts up to ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge), which is estimated to have the largest oil reserves in America, and use that time to come up with a useful alternate to petroleum. Our days as a super power are numbered. I hope you all like Kung Pow Chicken, lol.
  7. stingerjg, First let me say good luck, and to thank you for what you are about to do. I did six years myself, and was deployed to the middle east in 91. But what we had to face over there was almost comedic compared to what you guys are dealing with now. And I just wanted to say I am damn proud of all of you that serve no matter the capacity (combat, or support). As far as what sight to choose, your decision could truly be the difference on how you return to the states. So by all means I DO NOT care what sight you decide to go with, as long as you feel comfortable with it. With all that said, personally I have full faith in the OKO, and would be more than happy to put you in touch with people who use the OKO in real world combat situations. But even if you go another direction than OKO, please don't go without some type of optic you feel secure with. And come home in one piece. I will also be more than happy to give you whatever info I can about the OKO.
  8. Keith, After I posted yesterday I read some of your other posts. I saw you talking about Hawaii and realized I had just sent one to you, lol. A customer from Hawaii is something you tend to remember. Call it jelousy, lmao. Thanks for the welcome!! As far as the blue lens housings, I have several sights with no electronics, some of them are parrots. I ordered them so I could somehow get them in the hands of movie prop people. I'm getting sick of only seeing Cmores, lol. So I have no problem if someone wants to contact me to switch out for a blue one.
  9. This post is a little old, but if you haven't made a decision yet, I would be more than happy to set you up with an OKO for a great price. And give you a money back guarantee for as long as you need. Just let me know. sales@okousa.com Chad
