  1. Well about a year ago a local competitive shooter with a ton of years reloading experience helped me set up a Dillon 550B for reloading 9mm ammo for my daughter and I to use at matches. Well for the first 10 months things went smooth. The load he suggested that I use was 3.1 gr of Titegroup pushing a 147 gr Berry's bullet.

Six weeks ago, my daughter got distracted while reloading and double charged a round and it cost me a customized Browning HP.

Last night I loaded 100 rounds, with plenty of powder weight checks, and I know I was watching each round as I loaded it yet today one of those reloads blew up a Gen 1 Glock 19 that I've had and fired prob about 200,000 rounds through.

Well now I dont have a clue what is going wrong. Any suggestions? I'm considering changing from Titegroup but right now really am confused and nervous about putting anything I've made into any of my guns till I get this figured out.

So I come here and instead of just reading am making my first post and its one asking for your opinions and thoughts.

    Till then,

    Stephen

  2. My ASR went crazy on me today.

Last stage of 160 rounds or so and halfway through the stage the dot went out, suddenly. Two shots later (don't ask) dot came back on as bright as ever. Another few shots and it disappeared again. Repeat above a couple of times.

Changed the battery yesterday. Battery might have been a few years old. Duracell. Supposedly.

Did this at the end of a 400 round practice a couple of weeks ago. Changed battery and OK through two local matches and another practice session and nine of ten stages at the FO.

Anyone had this experience and, if so, what was the diagnosis?

I will be calling C-More tomorrow of course but a little info from the cognoscenti would be useful to me.

    Thanks

  3. Your choice, Mark. But now you have me curious:

Have you ever shot a USPSA Nationals in any division at any location?

Have you ever shot a USPSA area match in any division at any location?

Has nothing to do with the matches or gun laws. Yes, I have shot and RO'd Nationals.

Huh, that's weird. I clicked on your shooter number link and your classifiers don't show any participation at any USPSA Nationals. So what year(s) did you shoot Nats?

The reason I bring it up is not necessarily to single you out. There just seem to be a lot of people on the internet recently who are quick to complain about a particular shooting venue for a major match, but then it turns out they wouldn't shoot the match regardless of where it happened to be held!

Perhaps you could illuminate us all on what qualifications are necessary to post on subjects in which you participate and what proof is necessary to back those qualifications.

  4. IF Revo Nationals was not in IL, I would go just to go.

What's wrong with IL? They run great matches at PASA Park--it's one of the premier practical shooting spots in the whole country!

They might run great matches, but it is in one of those states I avoid like the plague. I don't organize boycotts or that kind of thing, just choose not to patronize that state if I can at all avoid it. I am sure my life will be full enough having missed PASA.

Easy enough to stay in Missouri and not spend a nickle in Illinois.

  5. I'm 52, soon to be 53. It is what it is. When I check the scores for the major matches I shoot I don't even know who wins, nor do I care, because I am looking to see how well I did. And yes it's middle of the pack somewhere. If I can move up just a little from season to season then I'm happy. Even for our local matches we have a GM or two who always shoot. We don't all say, "Damn Chris showed up, there go my chances of winning this month."roflol.gif

I'm in it for the fun, BSing with a few buddies every now and then, and arguing over rules. sight.gif

When I no longer feel like laying on plywood I'll just take the penalties. When I feel uncomfortable sprinting on gravel I'll slow down. So what if that puts me in 25th place instead of 19th?

When it all becomes too much I'll start shooting IDPA or steel.yawn.gif

At Stage 24 you would have to take a zeroed stage.
