  1. Coulda/shoulda/woulda.....

The point I was making when I started this fire was ONCE I'D KNOWN it was an honest mistake, I [repeat "I"] wouldn't feel right about buying the product at that price.

    Best read in the world:

Mistakes Were Made But Not By Me

Will clearly explain what's going on here if you read it.

  2. Taking advantage of someone else's mistake is just plain wrong.

So, if you're vying for High Overall against someone and the points are real close, you gonna let them reshoot a bad stage because they made a mistake?

You going to take a win because the scorer made a mistake that you know about and no one else does?

  3. I may be the minority but taking advantage of someones mistake [GA rules or not] is not what I'd be comfortable doing. There's a big difference between a business doing a 'bait and switch' and just plain making an error.

One can say that he's not a stand up guy/business for not offering to honor his mistake but how is taking advantage of a mistake being a stand up guy?

  4. Every minute I'm in the gym, some fat, out of shape, 10 years older than me guy/girl is shooting. When we meet, I'll be a really fit finisher,...... Below them.

It's the speed, power and accuracy of the shooting, not your personal best bench press.

If you really believe the last two words, given that this sport is suppose to balance speed, accuracy and power, you may have already finished below them in your head.

It's the speed, power and accuracy of the shooting. DVC has nothing to do with being strong or fast on your feet.

    "Practical" shooting.

If we just stood there and shot I'd have zero interest in the sport.

  5. BTW all the crap about looking for 38 super comp is BS. I am losing 10-15 pieces of brass per match.

I gain about 500 per match by staying after and picking up all the 9mm laying around! cheers.gif

This way I am able to stay more focused on what's going on with the stage than I am picking up brass.

I have had an Open gun for about a year now. I don't get all the hype and voodoo surrounding them. They are just guns. If you get one built by the right builder, feed it good ammo and keep it maintained they run just like any other gun.

Just buy what you are drawn to. It's not like you'll have a hard time selling it if it's not the right fit for you.

    It's what we do.

Why "my" stuff is the bestest

  6. Ordered some .38s major a while back for my all day lesson next Tues with Chris Tilley. UPS seems to have managed to misplace it but Stacy just told me they're shipping another case out today. Without that, I'd be doing 6 hours of dry fire practice with Chris.

    Thanks AA

  7. I'm going waaaaaay off the reservation and say when I switched to the Wendell Cherry way of shooting, I found my fit was vastly less important then it had ever been.

Yes, my gun is pretty well fit BUT I can pick up most any shotgun and shoot just as well.

I know, it's total shotgun fit heresy but I'll never go back to being so 'into' the gun.

100% focus on the target, merging with the speed/direction of a target and breaking the shot when that happens. Not a mila second later...

Discalimer: I went from class D to B with punches in A in 14 month before I start using his method but I ain't George Digweed.

  8. Dragging the old girl into the 21st century.

Mag well, Trik trigger, racker, all 5 C-more mounting screws [thanks SLM/Ryan!] and I had some bocote laying around so I made some wider grips for my ginormous hands. Got a few 140's and a couple 170's coming.

I got an all day lesson scheduled with Chris Tilley on 5/8 when I down in NC for the week.

Edit: Old skool 2 port comp. Any advantage/up side to cutting in a front of comp side port to either side? [sorry that sentence sounds like hell]

  9. Last time I buckled a holster belt on in USPSA anger was 20 years ago and it was a simple buckle affair.

Enter my new CR Speed belt....

The overlap on the inner belt goes.......in back? Same with the outer?

My life use to be so simple, buckle belts, 3 TV channels and a black rotary phone attached to the wall with a cord........ :eatdrink:
