That was a lot.
I’m sure if you’ve collected brass that was stamped 40sw, at a semi popular club that shoots any type of action pistol, that was shot out of a Glock at some point. There’s now way to tell.
And you lived. -
Exactly. And there are several "bulge busting" type sizing dies. Bulging has been an issue since the .40 S&W was released in 1990 when I first started shooting and loading it. However you address it is up to you, but one of the first tech reports I read after Ka-Boom issues began was the fact that removing the bulge is only a cosmetic remedy. The structural strength of the brass in the previously bulged area remains compromised. Combine that with inadequate chamber support and that previously bulged area ending up over the feed ramp at the 6 O'Clock position and you run a greater risk for Ka-Booms. In my case it's simple and I've never had any issues with .40 S&W loads. I don't use uber-fast powders, I don't shoot Glocks or any other make that does not adequately support the case-head, and when I pick up brass at the range, it it has any indication of being previously fired from a Glock, it goes into the recycling bucket. Impressive. How do you sort Glock brass that was processed and shot out of a different gun? [emoji6] -
I know this isn't much of a consolation, but I've never seen round nosed bullets in .40S&W. I've only seen either HP or TC bullets. So, that may be your issue. Then again, I haven't shot 200gr bullets either. I've only shot up to 180gr TC or HP bullets.
My first indication was going to be the magazine springs, but you already said you took care of that with new mag internals and then new mags. So, that takes care of that. Only other thing I can think of is if the feed ramp isn't clean or has some sort of burr or issue with it. Otherwise, it may be possible the round nose is catching on the very bottom of the feed ramp and nose diving when the mag spring tries to push the rest of the case up.
Have you tried any TC rounds in the exact same mags/firearm and if so what was the result of shooting those? If you have no feeding issues with TC rounds in the exact same setup without changing a thing, I would say it is the bullet profile.
They exist.

I'd say it's good to go. They have competition shooters (1 national champion) in their employ. They are on top of quality. I've tried some and liked it. I reload now, so I don't buy anyone's ammo anymore.
I'd say it's a go. -
There is a thread about IMR Target.
-
I load it for a different caliber but I am finding it a little slower than the AU stuff.
-
Think about changing OAL to 1.180?
Side note: stop winning things like awesome guns and bullets and stuff. -
Thats about where I was going to start. Even though it's a very small part of the equation, I may try Clays for my minor loads since I'm going to have to adjust the powder measure anyway......and I've got a couple thousand already loaded of 40 major.
There's a warning here. The Australian Clays was good for 3.0gr.
The new Canadian Clays needs to be worked up. Check your bottle for which plant it comes from. -
Update:
I loaded a few test rounds with some other test powders. I loaded 20 rounds using IMR Target. I don't have the screenshots because I forgot my cord for the chrono. I'm using a Caldwell Chronograph.
My load is:
4.6gr IMR Target
1.155 OAL
180gr FMJ
I did not make major with this load as it was just a test and it was not my focus.
My PF was a 162. It didn't have the impulse that TG has but it was a bit more harsh than WST. I think with a good coated pill it could be a good powder. More testing to come.
This was shot out of a Sig P320. -
Unless you get the version with the actual thumb safety, all the safeties are internal. No visible safety outside.
-
I ended up winning a pound of this powder at a local match. I'll do some testing with a few different types of bullets at a 1.155 oal.

XL650 - lifetime warranty.
Dillon's customer service is hard to beat right now. -
Other bullet types most likely won't work at that length. Shorten it to 1.120 and try again.

I'll give you my set up as it pertains to a lot of things you mentioned.
I ran a Glock 35 in limited. Ended up getting that race concept holster from Bladetech. I thought the same, that it might fall out. I got some thumb screws from Stoeger along with his Boss hangar.
I would loosen it when I got to the line during make ready and tighten it when I holstered. I thought it was too much.
I got the P320 and did not get the same holster. I wanted to be able to go back and forth, if I wanted, from Limited to Production. So I transferred the Boss hangar over to a standard Bladetech.
My future plans will be with RHT when I'm ready for something different. -
This is a very odd situation, to me, W231/HP38 has always been one of the best powders as far as consistency on my press. We only differ in press makes. I run a Dillon. I use w231 for 9 and 45. Steadily my best dropping powder.

You're likely looking at another tool head.
I've seen 2011's that run flawlessly loaded at 1.150 but I've never seen at CZ that can fit that in the mags.
I could be wrong but this might be a case that may be helped by finding a happy length along with a bullet profile that may feed well with both. -
The bullet on the left is from my first order. They both weigh 180gr.
That makes it more interesting. For me at least.
I've ordered maybe 5k of these and they've all been the other profile. -
I've never seen the one on the left. All my PDs look like the right side. Interesting find.

The PELT trigger seems to be hit or miss with people.
I got the GG trigger. Curved. Feels great and runs without issue.
I guess I'd be pissed if it didn't work out when I swapped it out. -
Mason Lane
I've shot with him for a few years. I'm not sure which is the robot yet.
He's a natural. -
A P320 RX just killed Florida Open and 9th overall.

Any updates on this?

I got mine in yesterday and finally got to install it today.
The pistol fails to reset with every combination of new and old parts I could try. Awesome...99 bucks for a small piece of metal plus nine dollars for first class snail mail and it doesnt even work due to tolerance issues...
The trigger bar is failing to drop off of the sear unless i mush the trigger to the rear. Its almost like there's not enough over travel in the system. To say im frustrating is an understatement.
Also, a few other observations from when the pistol DID actually reset/cock itself a few times. I can feel the lighter trigger but the pre travel is very gritty. I feel like the portion of the trigger shoe where it connects to the chassis probably should get some polishing. I can definitely feel the lighter weight.
The trigger profile is interesting. I have the "Curved" trigger and the face is pretty flat. I think its HILARIOUS that this is production legal as it does NOT clone the factory profile. Political shenanigans at work...
All in all, this whole experience of waiting for so long and then being disappointed has left a sour taste in my mouth. Ive bought a variety of parts from CGW, Apex, Zev, DK, Vanek, Glocktriggers, etc etc and ive never felt like I wasted my money.
IIRC, I believe your issue was expected.
There were some instructions to call and get it resolved. -
Got my trigger in today. I ordered the curved one.
I can physically feel the difference in the triggers. It does feel better.
I cannot feel the lighter pull, but could you really feel a 2# difference?
