  1. Well, being a "B" in everything I am classified in I did not want to comment on the GM's performance...I rarely perform at the B level!
  2. Thanks for the clarification Bill! There you have it folks, if you shot Limited or Open this match may count as a classifier, if you shot any other division you are either safe or out of luck depending on your objective....
  3. I have reviewed the rulebook as well as the match information. There is not a place, when creating a match, to denote it as a classifier, which makes sense (it would be to subjective that way). From the rulebook: "Your performance in larger matches and tournaments may also be used to help establish classification. Placement in a major event with a score above your assigned class percentage may result in your being promoted to a higher class, even if your current average is lower. Winning first or second in class at an Area Championship or Major Tournament AND shooting into the next higher class may result in promotion (except to Grand Master); winning High Overall in an Area Championship may promote you to Grand Master class. In addition, if you score 95% or higher at a USPSA national championship, you will be immediately moved to Grand Master class for that division." Off the cuff I believe that you must have a minimum of 3GMs in a division shoot the match (and they must shoot at the GM level) for the match score to count as a classifier. I have a query into Sedro and will post the answer once I have it. Thanks! Mark
  4. My apologies to all who were looking forward to that class bump from the GA state match. Indeed the classification upload is separate from the match upload and I was late in getting the classifier uploaded. As for the match itself counting...my understanding is that it is based on the number of GMs shooting the match. I will do a little research and post my findings.
  5. Ladies and Gents: The dust has settled and the sun has set on the 2009 GA State Championships. It was a great match and it ran very smoothly. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all of those who came to shoot the match; you guys and gals were awesome. I also want to thank all of those who RO'ed and helped make the 2009 GA State Match a great event!!! I want to extend a special thanks to Jeffrey, Kevin, Peter, Chris, and Scott who were key in making this as smooth and easy as it was. Combined results, as well as the winners list, will be up on the GA State Championships web site in the next few days. Thanks once again for making it a great weekend! Mark
  6. We will not use the "R" word please!!! I am hoping for overcast and 65.....
  7. Saturday Pre-registration will be at the range on Friday afternoon. Thanks!!!
  8. 3 Days and counting! All competitors should be in the squadding matrix, in the right time slot, and in the right Division. If you are not please let me know ASAP. For those who just decided they want to shoot this awesome match we still have room in all slots. Please get email me your name, USPSA number, and division in an email I need all advanced entries by 5PM tomorrow, Tuesday 10/20. We will accept walk-ups at the match. See you in 3 days! Thanks! Mark
  9. Just got back from the range after a weekend of setup with some great volunteers! Everything is coming together nicely! For those who attended last year, I am hoping the Hot Dog Lady will be making another appearance Friday-Sunday but will not know for sure until tomorrow. One way or another there will be food services at the match. Thanks!
  10. Off the cuff I would say 1/3rd or a little more are out of state. From Maine to Texas which is very cool!!!
  11. Why yes! CPWSA will be there with all sorts of goodies. Not sure what other sponsors are going to set up but there should be some others.
  12. I know there have been some requests to change this or change that and I save them in email but I now have hundreds of emails in the match folder so needless to say I probably missed some. So, if you have asked me for a change and it is not reflected on the current squadding please let me know and I will fix it. Also, I still have spots for all time slots so don't be bashful, lets get those apps in. Thanks!!! Mark
  13. Who is the competitor? I will change them as I start doing the final clean over the next week.
  14. OK ladies and gentlemen we are 2 and a half weeks away from the state match. I have a few Friday spots left and with the lack of interest in Saturday/Sunday spots I may open more all day saturday squads. If you do not have your apps in the mail yet please get them to me ASAP. Thanks! Mark
  15. Quick Update - getting between 1 and 3 entries a day. All entries received thru 9/29 are on line for self squadding. If you sent us an application before the 26th or so and do not see your name please let me know. If you are an RO working Saturday and Sunday please drop me a note and let me know which squad you would like to be on as Friday squads are now locked. If you are a competitor that would like to shoot Friday you will have to email me as well. Look forward to seeing everyone in about 3 weeks! Thanks! Mark
  16. New bays are in but we will be shooting on the same range as last year. The bays have just been finished and although Mother Nature promised nice weather any precip at all and it will be muddy as the grasses are not all in yet. We are over seeding with rye as well but timing is an issue with that coming in.
  17. Ladies and Gents: Things are coming along well!!! All entries received thru 9/22 are on line for self squadding. If you sent us an application before the 16 or so and do not see your name please let me know. If you are an RO working Saturday and Sunday please drop me a note and let me know what squad you would like to be on as Friday squads are now locked. If you are a competitor that would like to shoot Friday you will have to email me as well. Thank you! Mark
  18. ***************** GA State 2009 Update ***************** We are currently at 73 with 5 weeks before the match. I have updated the online squadding with all apps received thru yesterday. If you do not see your name please contact Jeffrey or me. If you are an RO for Saturday and Sunday you can squad yourself on Friday or email me with your squad request and I have space reserved on all Friday squads for ROs (I expect the online squads for Friday will be full by tomorrow so many of you ROs will have to email me you preferred squad). If you have signed up as a competitor but would like to RO I would be happy to have more so please email me. If you have not signed up at all but would like to RO please get you application in ASAP because we have to order shirts. ROs can email their apps to me or to Jeffrey. Looking forward to a great match!!! Thanks! Mark
  19. The gentleman who receives the applications is at Nationals...we will resume our regularly scheduled programming when he gets back
  20. Sent them about 3 minutes ago...I could not remember if I had to send them or if it was automatic...took 24 hours to figure out that it is not automatic. Thanks! Mark
  21. OK Folks, the Comfort Inn in Canton has extended us a rate of $55 per night, $10 off last year's rate. They are about 25 minutes from the range and in an area covered-up with places to eat. The address is 138 Keith Drive, Canton GA 30114. You can hit the comfort in Web site or call the 800 number, the number at the hotel itself is 770-345-1994. Make sure you ask the for GA State/River Bend Gun Club room rate. Oh, you have to register between now and October 10th to get the rate, after October 10th they go back up. Last year we were slammed right up until the start of the match so there was no Match check-in at the hotel, I would assume that will be the case this year so please get to the range in time to register. Thanks! Mark
  22. Online.... I am going to try and get it set up this weekend. Stay tuned.
  23. Indeed, we will have a few all day Friday spots to shoot with the ROs. Please make a note on the match application. This will be assigned on a first app first serve basis. Thanks! Mark
  24. Ladies and Gents, Once again we have a great team of folks bringing you the GA State Match! You have already heard from our very own "Sgt Bilko" Chris Patty who is working with our many sponsors on their support of this event. Our Treasurer Jeffrey Abraham is busy processing apps while trying to practice for Nats so all that data entry and calculator use should help his trigger finger but if your name is mis-spelled when the self squadding is posted consider it an AD on Jeffrey's part. Kevin Allen is busy working on the web site, match book, and sponsor logos as well as keeping me on task with other items to be published (and as the poster child for ADD keeping me on task is a huge job). And, our very own Peter "Field of Steel" Oliver and I are working on stages that are sure to challenge all levels of competitor across all three elements of DVC. Scott Rogers, a new Dad, is going to jump in between diaper changes and there are a host of other locals who will be instrumental in pulling this off. I am working on the match hotels this week so I hope to have something concrete for you by Friday. I will post info here and it will be on the web site GAStateChampionships as well. If you have not sent in that application please do so as soon as you can, it would really help our planning. And, like every match ever held, we can always use more ROs so please get those apps in too. If you have questions please drop me a note. Thanks! Mark
  25. Actually we will use the self squadding like last year. I think the squadding think went well so I am not going to reinvent the bullet. Thanks! Mark
