  1. I’ve attached a picture of how it’s fits in a gx holster. Plenty of room.

Also it’s not going to offer any advantage on unloaded starts like the picture shows on the website if you own a legion. This is what happens in reality. Even without the weighted mag in there it doesn’t prop it up because the gun is not heavy enough forward of the lever.

    do you like it?

I’ve only used it in dry fire so far but it’s very promising. I disliked the *thumb rest [generic]* lever.

I’m shooting it live tomorrow so we will see if it translates.

I had to bump up the velocity to get acceptable groups with the 147gr Bullets.  I think I was at 3.7/3.8 gr of Sport Pistol to get up to 135 PF. I found powder puff loads of 127-130 PF with 147 gr coated grouped like crap through my Legions.

I do do not use Titegroup but know it’s typically a few gr lower than Sport Pistol from what my research found on common PF off a given bullet weight.

You likely won’t be happy with the accuracy from a 147gr coated bullet if you are shooting an X5 legion. A standard X5 will be ok though.

Were they .355 or .356 diameter?

  4. I’ve read some of the older threads but wondered what people are using these days.

I’ve had really good results out of my legion and 125 grn blue bullets with 3.7 grns of titegroup.

However, I recently got a lot of coated 147s. Anyone willing to share load data and PF?

I'd be curious if anyone could do a comparison of PSTG and Casey's stuff. Or Tom Castro's stuff.

Can’t speak for Casey’s stuff but I’ve had the other two. Tom has put a lot of work into his and there is short term value in his program but PTSG is on another level. It’s been around longer and has many people producing content. You can’t get through all the videos. I’ve also tried Max Michels program and found it to be excellent. Additionally, I tried Steve Andersons online program. It was in its infancy but I found it to be quite mobile unfriendly and didn’t find the value in it.

  6. I have one and prefer it to the springer. I found that I would engage the springer on the draw and several times drew with a gun and the mag released on presentation. It’ll be mandatory on any p320 I have. I don’t have to move my hands to engage the reload.

Been using them for over a year with a tungsten gr and 12# spring in 3 guns.  However recently switched to a 13# spring.

    Thanks!

after initial testing I decided the thumb rest is not for me. It requires me to use a different grip and I’m not sure the benefit is worth the reps necessary to train that in.

    Mindset

    Score more points per second.

Now apply that concept to your dry and live Fire plan. Bullseye stuff has a purpose but if you want to get better at USPSA you need to be practicing live shooting at speed and pushing your speed beyond your comfort level at times. It’s the only way to get faster. As Steve says you’ll never know what it’s like to shoot fast until you start shooting fast.

Consider adding some bill drills and doubles to your live regimen. You can shoot doubles at an indoor range if you don’t have access to an outdoor range. You will find it more applicable to USPSA than shooting bullseye and tactical standards repetitively.

    I just hit gm today.

    Exactly 18 months.

Anyone can make gm if they make it their only focus.

My first match was March of 2020. Still to this day I've never shot a level 2 or 3

I'm sure there are plenty of lower classed people who can beat me at matches. I literally made my only focus learning classifiers skills

There is a difference between getting the gm tag and performing consistently at a gm level

But I guess that's the next part of the game to learn how to compete at that level.

How many matches did you get to per month?

I've been a big fan of the decibullz moldable in-ear plugs, with 2 caveats:

First, definitely go with the foam tips. The silicon mess with my ears, and were useless for an indoor range.

Second: When assembled, the center of the plugs is just a hollow plastic channel. The only thing separating my eardrum from the boom is the thin rubber cap on the outside. What I did was slice up a disposable howard leight plug (NRR 32 greenies), roll it between my fingers, then dot the end with superglue, and insert it into the channel. It expands, filling the center of the whole plug, making it a solid piece. Now they're super comfortable, and stood up to unsuppressed .556 outdoors without doubling up.

If you're going to do the cutting plug thing, make sure to do it after submerging and forming the decibullz, so they aren't put underwater and retain the moisture.

Did you get the percussive ones that are made for shooting?
