Have you looked at GA Power nuclear facilities near Augusta GA? Good luck

I've been looking everywhere brother,   Mostly through staffer's I've known for years.    I'm a contractor so I never really had a home plant.   It's actually quite hard to get in unless you go through some sort of company like Framatome, holtec, BHI, System one etc.

  2. I was pointed here by another forum member;  I picked up my favorite gun and lost my job on the same day and now it's in the for sale section.

    Anyway;

I have a background as a Reactor Service technician,  I have a ton of qualifications for both BWR and PWR reactors; as well as certifications for trades such as NCCER/EPRI rigging qualifications.

I am also scrum master certified/ agile philosophy and would very much like to find a job working with a development team of sorts.

The person who pointed me here said;  you never know who we may know.   And I thought to myself that's very true.

If anyone works in these type of industries, or has any info on something please send it my way;  it's greatly appreciated.

Sorry "bud" but you're the one in the wrong.  Your comment was ambiguous and I was trying to help.  That teaches me not to be nice.

I bet everyone wants to be on your squad at matches...    😆

You can use any of the OR plates designed for the P-10 if you're not willing to wait for one of the Shadow 2 versions to come back in-stock. The only downside is that shape/profile of the front of the plate won't match perfectly with the shape of the Shadow 2 slide. ANR's P-10 RMR plate (made of steel) is in-stock right now.

Did not know that,   Thanks RennBaer, I will look into it.

No need to be rude to someone trying to help you.  You weren't clear in your question so I was trying to help considering I literally just bought that a month ago.  I was able to find a plate in stock today with just a small amount of googling so its a very legitimate question.

They are just words bud;   you knew what you were doing.   Don't try to be slick with words :),  helping would have been like hey here's the link to some in stock "that you said you found"

I did an extensive amount of googling and I found none outside of the ones in Canada that won't ship to the U.S.

I assume you mean you cannot find it in stock rather than cannot find any?  Just research some quality options and either check those sites for restock or see if there is any notify on restock options.

    Sigh..   Literally Larry over here..

Yes, they can be found online;  if I go sit in a safe area long enough one might end up there also..

The fact that they are sold out everywhere,  except a few stores in Canada that Won't ship to the US,  yea id say that means they are pretty non existent at the moment.    CZ also says no eta.

Shadow 2 is a good platform for LO

can do it as SA only using a SA model or converting a DA/SA into SA only.

or keep as DA/SA and shoot it like a carry optic gun , or start in SA model with hammer back and thumbsafety on.

add magwell, and set up for optic.

Kept DA/SA, add magwell to Shadow 2 Optic Ready model.

That's a great looking Pistol you have there sir.   Pretty much would want to run this exact same setup.

  8. So,   I can't find an optic mounting plate anywhere for the shadow2 for RMR/SRO footprint..

Does anyone know about how to fix this problem :)?

No worries at all have you ever tried one with a reach reduction kit and flat trigger?

I just learned about the reach reduction kit today,   I'm super unfamiliar with CZ pistols;   I don't know how I feel about taking anything apart lol.    That's what interests me so much about like the TS pistols,  but none of them are optic ready and it really sucks or I would go that route.

Of course, just use the safety when you holster. Or you can drop the hammer and have first shot be DA and still shoot LO.

Ok;   Just making sure.   I was just reading a post about specific rules, and an RO making people start hammer down:  Maybe he didn't know the rules completely.

The biggest thing for me with the DA pull on the shadow 2,  I have small hands,  reaching the trigger in DA it's hard for me to get enough pad on the trigger.

The other unicorn in the room is finding a dang optic mounting plate for an SRO..   they seem to be non existent.

Thank you all for the replies.

  11. Guys,    I've looked around and read some posts about the rules and I'm not 100% confident.

I'm hopping back into uspsa and I want to shoot LO,   I left the game shooting single stack/production.        I was looking at a few different pistols, and I would really like to shoot a shadow 2;   "I know there is a SA only model but it's like a damn ghost"

So my question is,  can you run a regular shadow 2 in LO so you essentially don't have to do the DA pull?

Last I heard, waitlists  are no more and sponsorship isn't necessary either. Here's their website: https://sjcfop113.com/

Ron Faircloth runs the place now, he's doing a great job.   From the last time I spoke with him which has been sometime...  there was still going to be a wait list which could have changed.   But I know for sure they did away with the sponsorship deal which is nice.   It's certainly more economical to shoot at FOP and not deal with the hassle of walking into the ancient city office where they all think they are John Wick hah.

Where is the Fraternal Order of Police shooting range, is that the one near Ancient City?  What does it cost to become a member, and do you need to be a LEO?

Its only a few miles away,  you don't need to be LEO,   But I'm sure there is a wait list now.   Due's are very reasonable!    You can access all the information to become a member from the website.

  14. I'm a local of St.Augustine..   We have a ton of great shooters here and a lot of match's in the area.   The first week of the month is Steel challenge, the 2nd weekend has a match in Yule, 3rd week is Steel challenge or USPSA at SAPSA,  and the fourth week is Ancient city USPSA match.   So there are two ranges here,  I would recommend trying to become a member of FOP113.   Ancient city is really expensive and I don't care for it much but that's just my opinion on it.

We have some great local gun smith's, and bullet manufactures that make some great ammo as well.    Let me know if you need anything,  we frequently go to the range and practice if you would like to check the place out before applying for membership.

  15. JP barrels are hard on coated bullets,  my loads from my JP rifle are considerably slower than many of my counterparts running a different barrel.

For instance it takes me 4.0g of wsf @ 1.140 to make 137 PF using a 125g coated bullet.    If I were to shoot a JHP it would be even more!

I have no experience with E3,  but Titegroup, wsf, wst, autocomp, hs6, n320 in any bullet weight have always been slower in my JP barrel YMMV.

Sure.  I've watched video of me shooting, and there's a good deal of gas being directed to the sides, so I don't know how much will end up going out the top, even if I open it up.  In retrospect, I should have gone with a comp that only had top ports.  Something like the MBX.

My friend has the MBX and it is doing his gun no favors in terms of flatness, our guns are setup basically identical except I'm running a JP comp and he runs an MBX.   I would say ours handle/felt recoil/muzzle rise and dot movement are SUPER close.

I've been thinking about opening up the small top holes on my Lantac, primarily because they keep getting clogged with lead.  I suppose doing so might also allow it to shoot flatter, but I'm skeptical it would make much difference.  Is your evaluation of how flat it shoots based solely on opening up the comp, or did you change multiple parts?

I'm waiting on my lantac to arrive,   debating opening up the holes as well.   Could you keep me posted should you try to experiment?
