  1. That just kicks ass.

If you want some custom rims, I would get in touch with one of the Custom Chopper guys. They do all their stuff custom from AL Billets and could do the bolt pattern easily. I bet one of them out there would comp you a pair of rims.

  2. I don't get it.... how can folks put up with 2 to 3 hours on hold? or 3 weeks of no returned phone calls?

I have called Hornady like a month ago, broke some minor springs... phone picked up within 5 mins, and I received parts, free of charge within 3 days.

I hope dillon hires some help.

I would agree that it would be frustrating for sure - and I would probably try getting BE to help me in that situation. They need to step up with Customer Service to help out their customers in need of parts, but I am sure they can barely afford the time to scratch their asses right now, let alone hire AND train new help. Sometimes it is more efficient to do it all with what you have and wait till things cool off a bit to expand.

  3. A little late on the response here, but I WOULD NOT use 290 unless it was in an area where heat can be applied and there is no chance of stripping out the head of the screw (like an Allen Head Screw).

I attended a Loctite Seminar put on for our company (when I had a real job), and they had us put 290 on a 3/8 bolt. Then they had us try to remove the nut after everything had dried. The nut broke loose super easy, then bound up tighter than you could imagine. It was not possible to turn the nut in either direction after that. If you look at the specs, the break away torque is really low, but the removal torque is very high.

I would avoid 290 for small screws that you ever want to get apart and can't put heat on.

  4. I just want to see the picture of Mike Voigt wearing the skirt for getting beat by Julie

To be honest, if I placed 15th at Bianchi, I'd parade in a freaking thong.

Don't take offense to this, but I think you would be the only one there...

  5. I had the same problem when I put a Limbsaver on my M1, but Limbsaver sells a coating that you paint on like fingernail polish, and it kills the tackiness. I painted it on the top of the pad so it wouldn't stick to my clothes while mounting the shotgun.

  6. Looking to pick up an M&P 9 (most likely used) - given that this product has evolved some - is there any particular serial number range to avoid or some tell tale sign to look for?

    Thanks

  7. I would like to use my electronic muffs for hunting as well, so I have a quick question for all you Sordin users...

How is the quality of the audio? I have read in some reviews that the sound is a bit distorted as compared to the Pro-Ears.

Do you guys find it necessary to double plug with the Sordins when using a rifle?

    Thanks

  8. No, there are subtle differences here and there. The receivers are different, so the stocks are not interchangeable. Different trigger group (M1 is aluminum, M2 is plastic), different barrel/choke system.

I didn't find a great deal of difference between my M2 with Comfortech and my M1 with a Limbsaver, so I sold the M2.

  9. He was my first pick too...only doing long range rifle work and not doing small stuff.

So...unless he is your brother or cousin and you can talk him into doing it for me I will need another name : )

You could call in a unused "marker" ;)

    Patrick

I was just about to send you a PM for some direction...so I guess I have an answer!

  10. Well, first I bought a new scale that would read in .1 increments. Then I did up 10 rounds with 4.9-5.0gr of HP38.

These seemed to work OK. I will be going to the 200gr FMJ bullets, and probably switching powder to Titegroup. Had a lot of recommendations on that. However, I am having a bit of problem determining if I am achieving the proper crimp on these ACP rounds. I have calipers to check it. Anyone know the figure I should be looking for?

.001-.002 crimp should be good. Measure your neck thickness, multiply x2 and add a bullet diameter. that is your start, and then you want your crimped round to be .001-.002 less than that. If you over do it, it will probably be worse than no crimp at all. It really doesn't take much, and I wouldn't be surprised if some barely crimp at all.
