  1. Thanks for all the information that is posted here. I want to get into SS but not sure which caliber to go with. I currently shoot .40 in Limited and the ability to use the same ammo is a plus but the soft shooting 1911 in 9 minor would be a dream. The extra rounds is a plus but since I'm not the most accurate shooter the point factor sucks. What to do what to do. 9mm is also cheaper to buy factory and reload. Can someone be REALLY nice and let me use their gun and gear in each caliber for a season to decide ?
  2. I had Andy, a local gunsmith (https://www.facebook.com/creecustomguns/), put a PT Evo on my STI Edge and I absolutely love it. This is my first experience with a metal grip and it is MUCH better in ever way then the STI grip.
  3. https://www.remington.com/handguns/model-1911-r1/1911-r1-recon-commander-double-stack Looks pretty nice for $1275. 9mm is the only caliber available now. Much cheaper then other models in the double stack mag with rail. Range report and details if someone has one!!!
  4. I agree with the highly modified GLOCK comments. However, once you purchase a G19 MOS and put an RMR, suppressor height night sights, threaded barrel, X300U, Zev mag well, Zev mag +5 basepad, extended slide release, Zev or other flat trigger and stipple job you are getting close to $2000.
  5. Thanks for all the information everyone! I have seen several AR types one MPX, SBR, and no Scorpions at local matches. I'm able to get a LE discount from CZ making the Scorpion very tempting. I really like the MPX but WAY too many LEs are drinking the SIG kool-aid! I just want a compact, reliable running system for a good price. The Scorpion I think may win. However, has anyone ran a Tavor in 9mm? I wonder if this would be OK? Probably not the best for gaming but with the conversion kit I could use it in 223 at work. Too many options and not enough play money.
  6. Anyone that lives near Columbus, Indiana and wouldn't mind me testing one or all, LOL, would be very appreciated. The SBR option I think would be fun as well.
  7. I REALLY like the JP GMR-151!! https://www.jprifles.com/1.2.13_GMR-15.php
  8. MemphisMechanic, sounds like you have sometime or fired them before?
  9. Thanks ramnj, the Nordic, at a quick glance, looks pretty sweet! https://nordiccomp.com/categories/nc-pcc/
  10. The scorpion is MUCH cheaper with several upgrades and mags are cheaper as well. The only thing I was not able to find was a better trigger. Yes, I think the MPX may be better made etc but I have read some really good things about the scorpion. Not so much on the PCC thought process though.
  11. Thinking of purchasing a CZ Scorpion, as an SBR, for myself and kids for PCC. Anyone running it and if so your opinion of it vs a AR in 9mm.
  12. Again great looking blaster! I really like Atlas because of all the information Adam puts out for free to help advance the shooting communities knowledge.
  13. Thanks for the information and advice gentlemen. I was thinking about tricking out a Glock 19 but decided not too. I figured if I put between $2-4,000 in a tricked out carry gun it should be a 1911. Nothing against Glock but I really like and enjoy the single and double stack 1911s. STI, Dan Wesson, Nighthawk and Wilson have a few models that look nice. I own an STI Edge for Limited and LOVE shooting it. Too bad my department will not let me carry a 2011 on shift because I would in a heart beat. If I do end up buying one finding a holster that allows a light and optic should completely suck...LOL!
  14. Can 2011 type mags hold up for personal defense use? I really like the new 2011 type pistols, loaded with upgrades, that come from the factory. These upgrades, rail (to attach a weapon light), mounts for a optic, threaded barrel and suppressor height sights, make them perfect to carry for self defense. However, will the springs hold up being left loaded for days and days at a time?

Hey, man how you doing? Long time no see or talk to. Hope you are doing good. I was just cruising the forums and was thinking about getting a 1911 for SS. You still shooting major in your Trojan is it? You know anyone local that has the Sig 1911 Max in .40 caliber? I really like it but need to handle one in order to drop that much coin.

Love my ss 40..  there is a shop in Indy that has  sig max 40 and max Bedwell is selling his trojan 40.. by the way who is this ?

  16. OK why in the world is the PP2 Blue $108 and the Gray is $129 at Shooters Connection? They appear to have the same features etc. So do I pay more for the color ... LOL!
  17. Sarge and Tarkeg, THANKS for the intel and advice. I did advise at first but I will be using this timer for personal use, ROing at local matches possibly and training purposes. So there is a chance it will be operated by someone completely unaware of its functions and operation. So something simple is a big plus. THANKS again gentlemen!!
  18. Any other options I have over looked by chance?
  19. DKnoch, is the CED 7000 too small all around? Display buttons etc?
  20. Don't want anything special but would like to upgrade from my 15 year old Pro Timer. It is still working but want to get another one before it dies...LOL! I like the CED 7000, for size, Pro Timer II or PACT Club 3 is what I'm looking at. Any advice?
  21. Was wanting to try a few shoots through a 1911 Sig Max in 40 caliber if someone in southern Indiana has one. Want to see how it compares to a STI Trojan before buying. Thanks in advance.
  22. That is a pretty good deal on the $950 40 Trojan. Interesting it is that cheap though.
  23. Am I allowed to ask how much for this holster in this thread?
  24. I'm been trying to decide which single stack to get for SS and have been looking at the Max but wanted to see what others thought. GREAT information in guys! A big thanks for all the information. Not a fan of series 80 either. These baby sounds good to go since TimH has 60k though his!!!
