  1. I'm loading on a Dillon 550b. I throw a few charges at the begining of a session to settle everything out. What variation are you experiencing?
  2. The biggest change as far as soot / smoke for me has been changing from cast w/wax ring bullets to one of the HiTek coated. (mine happen to be blue) IMR 700x or WST powders make a nice smoke free combo. Happy New Year & Good Shooting
  3. I have been using IMR 700x for a long time but I ran out. I found WST at Graf & sons. Tha Hodgdon reloading page www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/pistol shows very comparable loads. Check it out. Happy new year & Good Shooting
  4. I just found WST powder at Graf & sons. Had been using 700x and the WST has very similar load data. Happy New Year & Good Shooting
  5. Thats where I seat mine as well. Taper crimp and c.o.l. 1.175. It was just a lot shorter than the 230 r n I had been loading. No change to the amount of bullet seated inside the case though. Thanks for the reply
  6. Has anyone used this bullet? What c.o.l. are you using? Thanks, Bruce
  7. Yes, the short cases seem to be the culprit. The loaded case is .470 at the mouth. After looking closer the head just above the rim is .480 - .481 The ones that fit the case gauge are in the .473 - .475 range
  8. I've started reloading Blue Bullets in .45 acp 200gr. rnfp. 4.6 gr. 700x c.o.l. 1.175 About 2 - 3 per 100 won't drop fully into the case gauge but fit nicely in the chamber. After closer inspection the case it self is a little short. .84 - .86 spec is .898 This is just range brass that has been tumbled not trimmed. I have cleaned the case gauge so I'm wondering what's going on? I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks
