  1. Welcome to the forum!

Did a Search and found this...better send out for lunch :)

Barely the tip of the info iceberg available on the forum.

    I used 3.2 to 3.3 grains in my G17 with Berry's or Rainer's 147gr plated. Switched to

124/125 gr bullets and Clays recently because of better match results. YMMV.

Sorry, but we did not find any matches to display. Try again and broaden your search criteria. If you were searching for new posts since your last visit, it's possible that there are none to show.

  2. I have been using Frontier plated bullets for years, in .38, .40 major, .45 major and 9mm minor loads.

I played around with max .357 loads for a while too

    Absolutely no problems.

Work up your load as you would with Jacketed or lead. Start conservative and progress to the PF you want

  3. First off, let me say that lowering the hammer to the firing pin still makes me a bit nervous, but if that is what's call for I'll do it. What I have discovered

is that I can pull my CZ 75 ever so slighly out of battery with my index finger against the rear sight and still lower the hammer with my thumb so that a

slip would drop the hammer against the slide under the firing pin, all the while keeping my hand clear of the ejection port. Do any of you experienced

hammer droppers see a problem with this technique that I am missing?

    Here's what I do.

    1 Insert Magazine.

    2 Rack slide.

3 Grab hammer with weak hand finger and thumb.

4 Pull hammer back. ( this proves you have a good grip)

    5 Pull trigger

6 ease hammer forward.( all the way )

    7 Holster

    8 Assume the start position.

    Has worked ok so far.

  4. Guys

I have a foolproof way to beat the roulette wheel and for no charge I will share it with you

I have based this method on the teachings of my now deceased Uncle James. A man who made millions and spent comparatively little, while being very generous to friends and Family.

Although his system was based around the National lottery it is easily modified to work just as well at the roulette table.

Each week he would ask those who had bought lottery tickets if they won anything, Almost invariably their answer was no.

With a big smile James would announce " I have " and after a suitable pause " I still have my buck in my pocket"

I have followed this system for over thirty years now and it has served me well.

  5. Was any of this brass fired in his Shadow before? If you open up his chamber, when you resize brass he fires, you'll still have bulged brass. If you could adjust the "U" die down a bit more, you may be able to fully size the brass and eliminate the bulge. Does it look like you could sand/grind some off the die? The other option is a case pro roll sizer.

    EG

No, all the bulged brasses we have found was fired by other guns (probably Glock or open guns in 9mm. major ...).

Having the chamber reamed is the last chance I would suggest to my friend (Wardog, mostly because I don't know WHO would be a competent pistolsmith for this job: perhaps Dallera ?), but the "U" sizing die that we have bought (just to solve this problem) unfortunatey isn't 100% useful (it works better than the normal resizing dies, but still we have 1-2 bulged brasses every 16 we are firing ...

I would also try to grind off 1-2 millimeters fron an original Dillon sizing, just to see if the die can work better at the base of the case: guys, do you think that grinding off 2 millimeter is too much ??

Why not dump the bad brass.

    Thats what I do.

By the time it developes a skirt it has been used quite a few times.

My friends say I am too fussy but I gauge every single round I make, usually a few are a bit tight in the gauge so I put them aside.

I then put them through the Lee FCD and either shoot them in practice and dump the brass or use them in a lost brass match.

I don't mind being called fussy I have practically no ammo related malfunctions in either my Edge or the Eastern European 9mm (with poor after sales service) that I use.

  6. The locking lever has a bearing dentent under it, that is probably what is holding it. You can remove that lever by undoing the reset allen-screw inside it. Once that pops out then the gun should fall on the floor. Be sure to catch it...

The locking lever as in the dial that you rotate to place the gun in safe or release? I removed that and there doesnt seem to be anything I can access to release the lock. What/Where exactly is the allen reset screw? Is this normal for these holsters to lock up like this??

This happened to me when I borrowed a friends Tanfoglio Buzz and put it in my CZ holster.

I had to screw off the plate on the outside of the holster.

If I remember correctly this takes the pressure of the little catch inside.

Be careful there is a small spring in there.

I now have over 5000 rounds through my shadow with no feeding probs ( once I got the oal right). I use Frontier 124g rn cmj bullets

But since your friends gun is 9 by 21 i guess we can't compare.

Have you tried the rounds which won't feed, into the barrel when it is removed from the gun.

I do have a complaint about CZ tho.

The trigger spring broke after 5000 rounds or so and the factory flat out refused to send me one. They said I would have to go back to the dealer I bought it from, who would have to go back to the wholesaler etc, etc.

I explained I needed it for competition and couldn't wait for weeks but they were adamant they would not help.

When a gun breaks and its only 3 months old and has only 5000 rounds through it and a 10 cent spring would fix it, I would expect the manufacturer to post one right away, not tell me to either wait weeks, possibly months for a warranty one or buy one from their shop and pay 52 euro postage for a spring weighing a few grams.

I guess shooting STI and S&W for years has spoiled me.

    al,

I highly recommend that you deal with the US CZ, www.czusa.com. Call and ask for Mike or CJ, two great guys. They wont just send you one spring, they will send you out spares as well, just in case.

Everytime I have had a problem, I called them up and they ship me spare parts, sometimes without any charge.

Let me know if I can help,

    Shay

    Shay

I really envy you guys the service that you get from American companies.

I am in Europe and since CZ USA did not get any profit from the gun I bought I cannot ask them for assistance.

I cannot understand CZ UBs attitude, for the price of a spring they would have had an enthusiastic supporter instead they have a person who will grudgingly continue to shoot a CZ but tell everyone about their shoddy service.

    al

    Edit to add.

Not even for the cost of a spring since they will have to give me one eventually.

  9. Stefano,

The 147's can bump the slide stop, so most of us grind down the slide stop bump just a bit to clear the bullets.

I load my Zero's round noses and Montana Gold's JHP to 1.125, but FP to 1.10. I have shot 115's as long as 1.165 in it without a problem.

What ever bullet he chooses, load it long, dont crimp much , put it in the chamber till you touch the rifling and then back off a bit.

    I Don't understand this.

    Can you elaborate

  10. This thread seems to have been inactive for a while and since it relates to 771s I hope no one minds if i ask a question.

I am using 4 771s in production Div.

The top of my mags are very close to my body and I find myself often grabbing some shirt as well as the mag.

How can I modify either pouches or belt so that the base of the mag is about a half inch further from my torso.

    al

    Anyone.

    al

I run the 771's for single stack. What kind of belt are you using? The CR/Safariland set up moves the holders out about 3/8". If there is still a problem, I'd probably use a 1/2" Delrin spacer between the body of the holder and the belt attachment, and a longer bolt. With the spacer, it probably won't be as stable. If you can't find the hardware at your local store, McMaster-Carr has them. Unfortunately, they sell in lots of 100. Fortunately, you'll have plenty of spares if you lose one

I am using a cr belt.

I am not familiar with a delrin spacer and google didn't help much.
