I have owned 2011s from all of them.
Infinity>Atlas>Nope>Hell no
Just by an open gun. At some point there will be lobbying for a new division for single-action only frame mounted optics with compensators that identify as Carry optics guns. You will be ahead of the curve

Then your reloads are slow.
A great big funnel with self correcting features (like a Limcat magwell, etc) is going to be faster and more consistent than trying to reload on the run without one. More margin for error allows you to push speed. This really isn't even debatable.
(And yes, despite shooting Open, I practice reloads)

Best point yet; Infinity doesn’t have the same problems and neither do smaller custom shops. Why not? Why don’t they change vendors?
exactly. The finish on my SV is superior to the Honcho that I briefly owned.

The more I thought about it. I just won't bring myself to accept a gun that has gone through 3 coatings and showed signs of rust. I'm not an expert on metal coatings, but I haven't seen anyone on here who would be satisfied with accepting that.
How much of your money do they have?
I would imagine that the negative publicity generated from this thread as well as the negative word of mouth is not in their best interest.

I sincerely hope you put it on a credit card. If you didn't..... basicly you have no recourse at all. If you did you can cancel payment through credit card company and they will take their money back. Take it off your bill and then your end is all done. The fight for the money will be between PT and the CC. The CC will win. Either way you dont have to worry.
I went down this road with a $4,000 truck parts purchase that I ended up loosing about $2,000 on because I used a debit card. With a debit card it's your money and the bank can't do anything to get it back.
Agree 100%. Do a charge back with your CC company and have no regrets. The fact that PT hasn't offered you a full refund speaks volumes.

I'm not sure I agree. Most of the A-M people I know seem to hold that percentage at bigger matches, unless they got their classification a decade ago. I'm actually surprised at how accurate the system is.
It’s hard to shoot your classification against the true death stalkers.
At 2021 Open Nationals, Only 2 M were above 85% and only 8 A were above 75%

How far do you suggest standing back from a 1/3 target to simulate say 10 yards? My math says 2 yards. Does this sound right?
it's been decades since I took multivariable calculus however 10/3 does not equal 2

I have a version of this in XXL. https://www.quiksilver.com/pierside-straw-lifeguard-hat-AQYHA00145.html
It will fit over muffs.

I have had this happen with multiple Romeo 3s. Send it back

Yup we would move to CO irons for sure, GREAT IDEA and zero reason not to
THIS is a great idea but shooting your production gun with a magwell and 140 mm mag in L i m i t e d M i n o r is unaccecptable?
Or shooting a 2011 with a slide mounted dot in Open is unacceptable?
Is the root of all of this nonsense the HOA on practiscore??
There is already a division for any gun anyone shoots.

why shoot a Nationals if you don't care to travel? I'm confused between being able to shoot and being able to travel. Those who are able to shoot should be able to travel...?
If traveling to Nationals is too much for one's schedule, he should stick to area matches. No one should show up to nationals without dedicating large amounts of time and effort invested in training.
Agree. The only thing that I would add is that the range should be less than ~2 hours from a major airport. (If you live in BFE, sorry.) Is there a range that is further from all major airports than Cameo?
Connecting to a small airport makes travel harder, may add additional hotel days, not to mention the serious increase in flight cancellations

I said commercially available. I.e., factory ammo. Factory 9mm Major. Factory .38 Super Comp. Obviously reloading mitigates the cost difference. Have you tried buying a whole new reloading setup lately? It's borderline unobtainium.

That Major ammo is WAY less commercially available in a time when ALL ammo is more difficult to find & expensive? Hence my comments on reloading.
Brass costs the same, bullet costs the same, primer costs the same.
Reloading cost of major vs minor is due to needing more powder. The typical $30 per pound of powder amounts to less than half a cent per grain.
I think you want validation that shooting open minor is a fantastic idea. It isn't.
But if it works for you, who cares what a bunch of keyboard warriors like me have to say. You do you.

I'd rather not stress over Major/Minor
Seriously, is this REALLY a stress for you?
What exactly stresses you? Powder spillage while loading, more wear and tear on the gun, more recoil?
Almost everyone I know who shoots open, started with a major load and has never wished they shot minor.

I've been debating in my head what to buy for my next gun & struggling with the Major/Minor thing. Accepting that I'll never be a serious competitor & am doing it for fun has allowed me to realize shooting Minor isn't a big deal. I'm currently D class in Limited. Shooting Major wouldn't make the difference in winning a match...
With few exceptions, none of us are ever going to win an area match or even a sectional. Most of us will top out with class or category "wins". Conversely, many of us want to improve. That is why we train. Standing in a rock pit for 5 hours for 3 minutes of shooting isn't that exciting to me.. It is the process of attempting mastery of a difficult skill that drives the competitors.
If you have decided that you are content being a poor USPSA shooter at the bottom of your division (nothing wrong with this btw), buy a pallet of the cheapest remanufactured crap ammo that you can find and don't even bother reloading. Because reloading really is not fun and will not make any difference for you at this point

Somewhat related to the topic, what happened to the Practical Shooting Insights IG page?

Before my recent move, I had an L-shaped 3 car garage. I turned the back part of the "L" into a reloading room. Dry wall/Insulation, ductless A/C unit. Already had a utility sink. It was money well spent. I could reload all summer and did not really need to run the A/C that often.
Losing this space was by far the worst part of moving/downsizing

This one aged just fine. Lol
On a positive note, if you shot at CMP year, your range safety card is still valid so no fun video to watch before check in

4 months isn't much time. Just to find another range that has a open couple weeks for something like this. Then agree to the price. I'd assume you still need to pay Cameo for use of there facility too. The match is going to be what a week long, plus a week of setup. That's two weeks they could of scheduled something else but didn't. Luckily USPSA has a surplus of funds.
The new facility might even mean a date change. Have competitors already put in for time off work, or booked flights, air BNB's yet? Say they move it to Florida how many people already paid and registered that now wont want to travel that far?
All this when we just had a match there last weekend that sounds like was fine.
comments didn’t age particularly well lol -

SCSA Open division since there is no Power Factor. There are also a bunch running around in 3-Gun Open and also Open for USPSA Multigun. Some local matches you can even win shooting Open Minor.
If you win a local match shooting minor, there is likely no Open heat. If you beat decent/good Open shooters shooting minor, you should be shooting major. The recoil is in Open is not even close to that in a Limited gun.
Open division in USPSA= Major+Comp+Frame mounted optic. Everything else is for Timmies, multigunners and steel shooters dabbling in USPSA, small children and those who can't reload and are too cheap to buy factory major PF ammo.
Show up at a Level 2 or 3 shooting Minor and you have just given the entire field ~5%. No one does this who has any desire to place well. If this doesn't phase you, none of this matters but this is a "Competitive Shooting Forum".
