What about it “screams range bag” I have a tool bag that looks strikingly similar...and my computer bag from work looks more like a range bag than the DAA backpack. Someone would have to be hanging hang out with some very high end hoodlums for them think they would know that the DAA backpack is a range bag and think it “screams range bag”. Lol...BTW I fly with mine all the time for work and nobody looks at me weird and TSA never says a word...nor do I get scrutinized like I am screaming “I have a range bag at the airport”. So I would use that as a solid test that this DAA backpack is a solid range bag that does not look like a range bag....but we can always let the OP decide what he thinks of my suggestion I suppose.

    Whatever

I think these bags by Double Alpha Academy are AWESOME. They are purpose build to be range backpacks and they even have a cart for them if you want one. I have the large one and the medium one. I prefer the large one because it holds more and things fit better in it. They deem to be a little pricey but they are EXTREMELY well made. DAA also has a bunch of other types and styles to chose from and all of top quality and durability.

So far, so good.  Installed my red dot.  The Nitro fin was not a drop in for mine...needed a little dremel work to get it to drop in.

Planning on giving it a good run over the weekend in 9mm Major and 38SC.

Nice!  Did the Romeo3 Max fit without modifying the mount?

The problem with saying just shoot open, is that what was happening when Carry Ops was being debated as a division at all. I was in that camp, and I was wrong. Carry Ops is huge, and only getting bigger. There's no logical reasoning presented so far in this thread to disallow a weight in carry Ops. Only emotional responses, which is the same kind that say just go shoot open. I do agree that going to the b o d is the best idea, however.

I hear what you are saying and I am inclined to agree.  However, games have rules.  Is there a logical reason supporting holster or mag pouch location in CO?

Better yet, take 30 seconds to take the light off your gun.

I'm not sure what it is about this sport that makes people like this. It's not like people roll into an SCCA event and they are like yea bro, it's stock, ignore the aftermarket wheels, brakes and boost controller, that's how me and my boys all run.

Exactly..  Don't like the rules of the game, find something else.  Or get on the BOD and make changes

Question: Do Limited Major shooters drop to Limited Minor at full Classifier matches?

    No

It seems to me that higher level shooters - A or M, could gain an advantage by shooting 9mm to move up a ranking. Especially if you had a gun set up very similarly to your .40.

    No

You are continuing to seriously overthink this..  Limited (a division, not a class) is for 40 Major if you care about being a competitive shooter.  If you don't care about your scores, stop asking the same question and shoot whatever you desire. Limited minor is for children and noobs. If anyone tells you otherwise they are just being polite or citing a unicorn-like example

Everything Bluto says is correct. I like 38sc because its a longer case which gives you more powder options. I guess it would depend on what your financial status is. I just ponied up and bought about 15k 38sc brass all at once.

You will make power factor easier in 38sc also.

Unless you really want to shoot N105 or 3n38 what  powders are you really missing out on with 9 major?  I shoot AA7 or SWMP in both calibers.   It really just breaks down to cost and your inclination (or lack thereof) to pick up brass.  After having one of my guns rebarreled in 9, I can't honestly tell the difference between 38 and 9 at match speed..

    5. What are the spare parts worth investing? Should I buy spare parts or just buy another DVC Open as backup? What is your experience with your DVC Open?

    Thanks in advance. Cheers

I strongly support a backup gun that is set up as similar as possible (if not identical) to your main gun... I would also buy another optic for when yours fails (it will).

    #Optics = #guns + 1

  9. Remember the $100,000 Pyramid game show....

    Here are the clues:

Coated bullets in Open, Limited Minor, Open Glocks, Lee Progressive presses....

Answer: Things that you can use  in USPSA but better options exists

One other thing I noticed about CBC brass is that the primer pockets are not to spec.  I had a bunch that were very hard to deprime so after depriming them I decided to use a reamer on them.  More brass came off the primer pocket than crimped military brass.   If I put a Winchester or Federal case through the reamer, nothing at all comes off, so clearly the primer pockets are too tight.

I have had the same issue. Many are not getting deprimed on the first attempt

Where do I find the what if function? Will I see it while looking at scores from my matches? Or is it a separate page where I input my recent scores in minor and then select for major scoring?

On the practiscore competitor app. It’s not on the practiscore website. You have to buy it. Worth it IMHO

    limited minor.........still dumb

    ^This.
If you don’t care about competition, why do you care if there is no one shooting in the production division? Or your overall placement?

If you care about competition and want to shoot Limited, buy a major gun.

Using the what if function on practiscore is OK but it does not take into account the strategy changes when one starts shooting major power factor.

Just placed an order for Honcho #2.  You will really love it once you get your hands on it.  Understand things are running a bit behind due to coronavirus, and unforseen issues, but I have no doubt they are getting them back and finished as fast as they can given the circumstances.  Be patient and you will be rewarded.

How long did they say the current wait is?

  14. I have a 38SC Open gun with an oversized tungsten sleeved barrel.  I would like to get a new barrel, chambered in 9mm.  I have attempted to contact the builder without response.  Frankly, I would welcome other (possibly less costly) options. I do not need tungsten for the new barrel.

So.....are oversized barrels commercially available?  I have searched the internet without success.  I know that many builders could build me a new top end but trying to save a few $$$
