  1. I have six 1911 kytex pouches. They have solid retention, stay on the belt well and work well for IDPA and carry use as too. They are good, but limited... they only hold mags upright against the body. If you have a spare tire hanging over your belt, you may want a different pouch that has more angle adjustability.
  2. The big question is will they release 140mm-170mm magazines?
  3. Holster was good to go. No issues and it did well all night.
  4. Yes, it's a Limited/Open division holster and can hold any G17/22 frame with a 4.5"-5.3" slide It has about a 1-1.5" vertical draw before it can clear the holster; similar in action to something like a DAA Racer speed holster. My G35 can't be rocked out forward or backwards and I can hold the belt upside down and shake it without the gun falling out. Except it's nowhere near the cost of DAA/CR/Ghost style holsters... my Armiger was about 1/2-1/3 the cost of the DAA holsters. I'm going to take it out for a practice spin this week and a local match next weekend.
  5. I thought I'd share this on the enos forums. There's a kydex holster maker that's semi-local to me. Looks like they do alot of concealed and combat style holsters, but also can custom make items for customers. I saw some pics of another person's competition setup with an Armiger Solutions holster and figured I'd ask if they could make something to suit my needs. They've got alot of different patterns, colors, and are really willing to work with me to figure out what attachments and styles would work best for me. Lights, lasers, concealed, OWB, IWB etc... whatever you want, they've got options. Best yet is that the pricing was good and the turnaround was quick (about 2 weeks). I was considering a DAA Racer type speed holster like most of the competitors at our local club use, but for half the price I was willing to try a local company. Glad I did - I will be using Armiger again for my Limited 10 & Single stack holster. I went with a red carbon fiber material paired with Bladetech DOS attachments. Armiger was able to do a deep plunge cut on the front to aid in drawing - so what I end up is a fuller coverage speed-style holster. The edges and molding are clean, the hardware installation is top-notch, and retention is great... not only is it easy to draw but I can hold my whole belt setup upside down and shake it without the gun coming out. Since it screws into a standard Bladetech attachment, if I ever want to change mounting methods it's as easy as removing a few screws. Their website is in the process of being rebuit, but there's still links there: http://www.armigersolutions.com/ My setup:
  6. Sorry is i'm late to the discussion , but here's some 115gr frangibles in bulk. Decent price too considering it's not a cheap plated or anything (12cents). Think the only problem you might have is actually reaching major with a 115gr pill in a short OAL like a glock uses. Might be better in a 2011 or 10mm. https://www.americanreloading.com/en/40-sw-bullets/155-40-sw-115gr-frangible-bullets-500-ct.html
  7. I have a rear 10-8 sight on a Lone Wolf Glock 35 slide. It measures .256" over the slide. I also have a Hi-Viz front sight with .180" height Will these work together?
  8. Tungsten does not machine easily and is pricey enough that you wouldn't want to waste 20% or more of your metal stock by whittling it away. It would almost HAVE to definitely be MIM or sintered to be cost effective - and even then, how may units would have to be produced to get costs down under $75/ea or so. If the parts came out around 6oz ea, that's probably almost $15+ in material cost alone compared to maybe $2 in brass costs. I guess it doesn't matter anyways because everyone knows you're not a true gamer unless you use an osmium grip plug. haha.
  9. Alot of info out there is geared towards the lighter open-top factory style glok 35 pistols. What spring weights would be ideal for a Lone Wolf Glock 35 Slide with solid top shooting factory 180gr loads around 178PF? What about shooting softer 168PF handloads? It's for a Limited 40 build I'm working on and the pistol has a DK custom trigger kit, if that matters.
  10. The Seattle slug plugs are, I think brass. And many of the heavyweight plugs that can mount a magwells are also brass. THere are also steel and aluminum plugs, but brass is pretty popular due to the increased weight. With MIM and sintering methods available to cast metal grip plugs with little-to-no post processing, and tungsten literally being 2X the weight of brass.... why are there no tungsten grip plugs or magwell plugs? Granted, tungsten powders are pricey at $50/LB in bulk... it's not bad when you consider people pay $100 for tungsten guide rods (that can break and malfunction the gun). I'll bet you could sell tungsten grip/magwell plugs like hotcakes for $75ea.
  11. So I'm strongly considering getting a .40cal pistol to shoot Limited. I like 1911s (I have several) and I also like CZ (my father has a CZ75 SA). Because STI/SVI are out of my price range, I was pretty much only considering the CZ75 TS up until I saw the Rock Island Pro Match 40. It's steel frame, checkered, target sights, full heavy dustcover, takes S_I mags, and it's actually a couple hundred cheaper than the CZ TS. It's also a heck of a lot easier to find than a CZ TS chambered in 40. There's a lot of info out there about the tactical sport, but not very much on the RIA Pro Match 40. So what's the deal... how does it actually compare to a CZ Tactical Sport? Is it reliable? Good compatibility with other 2011 parts? I'd like to keep total gun costs around $1300-$1400 after changing out all the personal preferences (sights, grips, magwells, etc...). Just as a point of comparison, my daily carry is a Les Baer... so would I really disappointed with an RIA 1911/2011 versus the CZ TS? Someday I'll bit the bullet and order an SVI Limited gun, but until then I just want to get into the sport a little more - get a feel for what I like.
  12. Thanks for the quick response. I'll check out the Cheely options. I'm still in the planning phase so I'm more or less just kind of looking at all my options. I guess while a thread open about the CM... are there any good smiths that do work on CZ/Tanfoglio open-guns?
  13. I'm interested in my first open gun. I have guns for SS & Lim-10, but nothing in Open. At this time I'm considereing a Czechmate because I know if I get a 2011 it'll probably end up being an SVI, cost 2X as much and take 12-18 months - haha. Plus I can swap the sights & comp on the CZ CM and shoot Limited if I really want to. I've been searching around for the answers to a few specific Czechmate questions without much luck so I decided to ask here. I've never seen a czechmate in person, don't know anyone that has one, and won't even have the chance to try and see one for about 6 more months. What is the thread pitch on the factory supplied barrels? What is the length of the barrel that extends beyond the slide? Is the DAA Quinn III 90-degree Tanfoglio mount a direct drop-in replacement for the factory mount? From what I've seen and read online it looks like the czechmate frame might have some kind of milling for the installed mount. Any help, suggestions or photos would be a big help.
