  1. other than trying clocks which just did'nt fit my hamhock hands (nothing against them). I was always steel 1911 fan, tried xd45 when they first came out  then xdm45 and last one bought xdm40 s&w and I'm in love with them all, blade-tech holsters work with them, never a problem with any of them with factory ammo, only with reloads till I got that worked out on them. Loading up now to try to return to isps comp. next year :sight: wife wants a s/w mp in 9mm to carry, we'll see how she like that and get back to ya. good luck

  2. Off line for a while , live happens. Jake has the right pistol marked, I emailed the owner and asked if he would concider offers and he will but I have not had time to call him and arrange to meet and look it over, the price do seem a little steep for a shooter, plus adding mag well, new barreling, beavertail, hammer  If I get time to see can not get his price down I may have to pass. Thanks for all your input

  3. well the xdm started out the same way, 9mm then 40 and last 45 , seems any new platform for a new xdm would start out the same way, as for sti ruling limited who says they can't stand someone else getting in :surprise: , just my 2 cents

  4. Agree with with RIIID forged is the way to go. Got mine more than a few years ago, got bomar site installed, I think it was a wilson beaver-tail, dawson fiber-oped front site, bushing barrel, triger job to 4 lbs, para magazines, or meggar work, dawson basepads and guts, I thinks it was a old dawson magwell that I bought from someone. Yes 18 rnds with the weight of a forged frame yea it's heavy, but if you're like me their is nothing like a good 45apc in your hand, yea a 40 s&w would give ya 20 or 21 rnds but could cost mega bucks t have made from a 45, if you have to have a 40, I've got one of the xdm 40, and they are a sweet gun  , and yes reloads are cheaper, and yes I like it, but it still sits on the shelve while I carry and compete with my 45 :sight:

  6. my 45 acp load is 4.3 gr clays 200gr swc 1.250 oal. mixed range brass. very accurate mild recoil makes major. i use a 14 lb recoil spring. as stated above start at min and work your way up. this load works in my gun but may not in yours. reload safely.

straight clay works great in 45apc
