  1. Reloading for me isn't about the cost. This is a hobby for me. I enjoy it immensly - almost as much as I enjoy shooting. I'm probably not saving a ton of money. Hell I'm probably spending a little more, i have'nt actually figured it out. But if I wasn't spending at or on my reloading bench, I'd be spending it elswhere - or worse...my wife would!
  2. Hi all, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to reloading. I can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed and learned from you guys and reading these forums. I have been reloading for a few months now and have loaded close to 2000 rds of 40.s&w and .45acp using a Lyman T-Mag II with great success. As of right now - I want to start loading for 9mm using 124 gr. Rainiers plated projectiles. I've relecieved my dies and shell plate. I have clean brass, small pistol primers, and 2 different powders I could use. As we all know, powder is tough to come by so I'm kinda stuck with using what I have. I have a good amount of both IMR PB and SR4756 and I've seen on Hogden's web site that there is load data for each caliber with both powders. What I would really like is to pick the brains of you super experienced guys to see if you've have loaded 9mm with either of these powders and whether you've prefered one or the other and/or why. FYI, I'm shooting a G35 and G23 with Lonewolf 9mm conversion barrels. I shoot IDPA using these same pistols with stock .40 cal barrels and ammo in order to stay in SSP so I'm not caring about PF nor am I competing in this 9mm caliber. Thanks in advance for your advice. Danman
  3. I've only used PB for reloading .45ACP. under a 230gr LRN. This was my first time using it in this caliber and it seems to be very accurate so far. Has anyone ever used PB in a .40 reload. I see data for t on Hodgden's site but was just curious.
  4. I was like you JPG, I couldn't find pistol powder anywhere. I got super lucky and found 8lbs of IMR SR4756 and 4lbs of IMR PB at a gunshow two weeks back. I over paid a little but at east I won't go hungry. good luck.. pickens are slim.
  5. I'm new to competition shooting as well. I'm a lefty, so a decent hoslter was harder to come by. I finally got a cheapo Fobus combo, holster and mag pouch from Amazon. It was horrible, way to tight. I had to heat the kydex (plastic) and reform the holster with a propane torch (at the trigger area) to loosen the retention. But after these modifications, I'm quite pleased with it now. My two cents, stay away from Fobus - at least for a Glock anyway. Enjoy!
  6. I use 8.5g of BlueDot under 165 Gr. Raniers in my .40 target /practice rounds (G35) and besides a little too much flash, i was impessed with the accuracy. I have seen other posts of 10mm guys liking BlueDot immensly.
