Wow, it's got my interest. Patrick Kelley did a review of the regular tp9, and it was a good gun. This looks like a runner straight out of the box. I wonder what the street price will be.

Adamge, what exactly is that? Looks like something I can't afford.

Well, if the TS mates with one of my other pistols, the spawn should be free to me, right? Maybe I'll end up with a 45oz steel frame striker fire pistol with a 2 lb trigger. I could handle that.

I see. I filed the leg on my glock to ease up the mag release. Sounds like it's a do-able project on the TS.

I noticed that about the mag catch spring in the shop. My 1911 mag catch was stiff in the same way- I polished the mag catch and cut a coil off the spring and now it's much easier to work.
Could the same approach work on the TS, or are softer springs available?

Hi all,
I've been shooting a G35 in Limited for a while and I'm looking to move on. (Reliability issues that are undoubtedly some simple fix, but I've kinda lost faith in the thing.) I handled a TS in a shop yesterday and I was amazed at how similar the feel was compared to my gen 4 G35 with the large backstrap. And the trigger... wow.
Last night I shot an indoor match that showed me just how difficult it is to switch between platforms. I bought my first 1911 recently and tried shooting it in an indoor match in singlestack. Yikes! Compared to my Glock, it is an ergonomic nightmare. It's tough to go from putting down fast runs with one platform to really novice-looking runs with another platform. I thought it would be fun to take the new gun out, but didn't account for how competitive my personality is. That was the least-happy I can remember leaving a match.
So, what can I expect that might make the transition difficult, if I were to save my pennies and get the TS?

It helps the plate move less and return to the same position quickly. Also, a hit on the bolt can't drive the plate up tight to the 2x4, which would end up stressing the stands if it were tight and taking hits.

I just bought an arched smith and Alexander magwell. I put it on and it solved an extra problem for or me: it has effectively pinned my grip safety! The notch is further in than on my old msh. Now I don't have to wrap tape or rubber bands around the grip to disable it. Sweet.

That's become my plan actually. If it gets rusty, I'll polish it and put a new f.o. rod in it. They're cheap.

I am running an uncaptured zev guide rod with a 15 lb ismi spring. Next match a fellow shooter offered to bring his chrono. I'm interested to see what the pf is.

I know, I know. But the load is based on load data from the forums, and 4.7gr is the supposed max. And maybe Sandy Claws will bring me a chrono for Christmas.

I replaced the ejector with a lone wolf, no increase in reliability. But that was a good suggestion.

I use the heavy gen4 zev magwell with the large backstrap. You just have to sand the very bottom of it on the backside so it only as thick as the outer shell of plastic. It then slides into the thin slot of space on the back of the magwell. Problem solved!

No just a grade 8 bolt from home depot. It's harder steel than the regular bolts. A tiny bit more expensive, but still easy to find.

Random mags, yes to the flat point bullets. I don't even know where to get RN 180 gr in 40. But I think it's an ejection issue, not a feeding issue.

Crashdodson, here you go

I went to the range today, and shot about 70 rounds. I tried limp wristing, putting my weak hand thumb on the slide, shooting fast, slow. Not a single malfunction. It must be saving them up for my next match. I also plunk tested my ammo, something I've never done before. 100 rounds and every single one was consistently loose on the chamber. So I still have no clue what's been going wrong.

It still jams with the factory spring. And I dont recall it ever jamming during a weak hand /strong hand cof. I'm really starting to think I'm touching the slide...

Which means that even if I'm a little under major PF, I still shouldn't be oversprung.

I've done that before, so I cut the tab off the factory extended stop. It's so small now that I doubt I'm hitting it, but I do have a very high grip. I'm starting to wonder if my support hand thumb is touching the slide slowing it down. It naturally goes up high enough to do that.

It's been doing this for the past 7 months or so, which is most of the time I've had it.

You're right, I'll have to buy some factory ammo for the next match.

I can't wait to see it. I'm expecting and hoping to hear that it's a great pistol. We need more options, and building a 2011 shouldn't command such high prices. I'd actually like to see taurus make a 2011. My pt1911 runs perfectly.Hope to have one of these in a few weeks for an out of box video!

I would say around 5000.
