  1. Going to SIG's Range Day next Monday at SHOT Show. Hoping n praying they'll have a 10mm...!
  2. Looks that way. I'm going to speak with the Sig reps during this year's SHOT Show Range Day. I'm very interested in a 227 style and would wager that I'm not alone. Gotta tell you, the 227, as it is in.45, is amazing. A 10 in that style would be perfect--with the right loads--imo.
  3. Lots of excitement over at Sigforum over development of 220 in 10mm. Obviously, stainless steel construction and supported barrel will be in order. I fell in love with the 227 last year at Sig's SHOT Show Range Day last year. Now I'm thinking that a 227 style 10mm would bring me back to that "obsolete" round. I do miss my old bevy 'o Tens from the '80s and 90's. Thoughts on this fellow Sig afficianados?
  4. I use the groove as I get out to 25 yards +. Learned this trick from a former F.A.S.T. guy. Good stuff, helps me stabilize my weapon, since I tend to overgrip with my strong hand during timed qualifications (been in law enforcement for awhile). I find this technique to be quick fix when under pressure, i.e. competition. Now, here's something cool. Ever wonder who came up with this design? My reading points to Paris Theodore--creator of the ASP handgun. This story is that this design feature came about in/near 1970, but wasn't patented...? Below is an excerpt from one of several sites that state: "Another striking feature of the ASP was its uniquely shaped triggerguard. The standard triggerguard was cut, and a hooked extension was heliarc-welded onto the pistol using a comparable alloy. The design was patented as a “forefinger pocket” and aided in a finger-forward, two-handed grip. For improved access, the forward half of the triggerguard was reduced in width by 50 percent—a change that tailored to right- and left-handed shooters." (found this excerpt at personaldefenseworld. Not enough posts yet to post up link)
  5. Can't go wrong with these guys. I ran the Sevigny Warren for awhile and liked it alot, my current setup that I like even better is the regular Heinie .125 notch rear sight paired up with an Ameriglo or Dawson .090 wide/.215 high front sight, same light bar proportions as the Sevigny's but smaller. Running a G17, I like Sevignys better on a 34. The proportions there are .150 rear/.115 front. I just started running my G34 for competition. Any chance you can post pics of your setup (Ameriglo/Dawson)--if I read your post correctly?
  6. I started IDPA back in the late 90's with a Glock 20. Found the Federal Classic 190 grain to be the most forgiving & darned accurate round. Didn't take long to realize that factory ammo costs were killing me. Switched to a .40 barrel to save $$ for a bit before getting a Sig 229 (.357/40) from my first Fed agency. I do miss that huge Glock frame and novelty of being the only 10mm in the midst of .45s and 9s. Now? I use the G 34. Never looking back! Good luck with your 10mm. If you can afford the ammo, or relaod, I say "go for it'!
