  1. I have not read all of the replies, however I think your problem lies with your testing proceedure. Most of the Smith and Wesson revolvers I have worked on have a lighter firing pin strike on double action than they do in single action as the hammer travel is slightly less. BTW they only way to go for light double action pull is FEDERAL primers. My Smiths vary from 5 3/4 to 6 1/2 pounds double action and are 100% with good ammo.
  2. With the final rules still in limbo I am trying to find ways to be competetive with my 625 that I like so much. Now that I know that both of my guns come in under the 42 oz. limit, I have decided to order in some 45 auto-rim brass and use the same 130 p.f. load (read gamer if you will) that has proven to be so effective in the past. Before I go too far do you think "IDPA" will outlaw this combination? It seems to me that with all the changes in rules "IDPA" wants to set the revolver shooters back to the 1950s. As the 45 Auto-Rim was introduced in 1920 perhaps this will be OK.
  3. RE-wighed my 625s today, it seems that when I zero out my Lyman digital scale it makes a difference whether it is vetical (down) or horizontal. Now both of my guns come in under 42 OZ. I now have the option of shooting with 45 auto rim brass in SSR, or moonclips in ESR.
  4. Weighed both my 4" 625s when I got home tonight, guess what ? both weigh 43 OZ. Both guns were weighed on my Lyman electronic scale. How accurate do you think the postal scales were? Also measured the barel length per IDPA they are 4.125"
