Looks like that will be a good contingent from South Carolina (Gamecocks!). Oh I forgot, there might be a Clemson fan among the group. Looking forward to it!

Our apps will be going out be the end of the week.

Jack...make sure you tell Upchurch and Wheaton that the State of Alabama has an outstanding restraining order against them.....they can't come any closer than the Georgia State Line without risking imprisonment!!!!

At least one of us will be there to continue the annual Ala beating. LOL!!!

  2. The last couple of rounds are probably hitting the slide stop and activating it. You need to dremel some material off the slide stop; refer to Bobs article on tuning the slide stop. This should cure the slide lock issue. Ejection problems, been there done that. Sent it to Dan Bedell and he fixed me up. My new open gun runs like a top now.

  3. Does the match have to have a minimum number of shooters to make it a go? Have you met that minimum number yet. Our concern is, we register for the match, and the hotel and the match gets cancelled at the last minute. Now I have to scramble to register for another match, pay late fees and find another hotel to stay for the match. Not to mention the late fees I will have to pay for registering late for another match. I am looking for some reassurance the match will be held and not cancelled. If the match is a definite go, You can count on 2 more applications.

  4. Well, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I was trying to lay the shells against the side of the receiver and shuffle all 4 shells back and forth. This works but you have to taper the forend so the shells will not hang up on it. The (correct) way is a lot smoother and faster. I dry fired for about an hour tonight, going back and forth between the two techniques and the correct method is night and day faster. I will work on it for a few days and post a video.

  5. Does anyone have any pics of the shell sequence followed to perform this loading method? I have tried it for the last several days and the only way I can load 4 is to shove the first shell in with my index finger using my pinkey to guide the end of the shell in. The other 3 I use my thumb and the leading edge of my hand to (shuffle) in. It is working well but a little slow, about 4.2 for shoot 1 load 4 shoot 1. I know it will be faster if I can load all four with my thumb, but I cannot manipulate the shells without losing the one in between my pinkey and index finger. The technique is great, thanks for the pics that show where to relieve the receiver. This reloading technique is almost impossible without making these cuts. All I need now is the proper technique to hold the shells and it will be on like donkey kong.

  6. Could be, but The gun is only ejecting the brass about a foot out of the gun when shooting right handed. I have been shooting limited with no issues for several years. I have also shot several other open guns, both 9mm and 38 super/comp and have never had this issue before. I wonder if it is a combination of extractor and ejector. I spoke with Dan Bedell last night and he advised me to first start with the ejector and tune it with the scope off the gun. I will try this later in the week and report back my findings. My loads are HS-6 169 pf and 7625 169.7 pf. Neither load will eject farther than about a foot out of the gun. I have a light recoil master in the gun, but have tried everything from a 7lb straight to a 11 lb variable no change. I upped the pf to 180 and got the brass to eject about 1.5 ft out of the gun. So I do not feel it is the loads or the recoil springs. If anyone has experienced a ejection problem similar to this right or left handed please let me know what the fix was.

  7. I need help. Are there any gunsmiths out there who have built a open gun for a left hand shooter? The problem I am having is during ejection the brass is hitting my left thumb. Sometimes the brass bounces back into the ejection port causing a jam, or the empty brass will be left hanging out the side of the ejection port with the slide partially closed. When the cases do eject (about 75% of the time) they only go about 2ft from the gun. This is a 9mm open gun with a allchin mount and a cmore. I have tried recoil springs from 7lb to 10lb, Both straight and variable. I have also tried the light recoil master. This does not have an effect on how far the brass is ejected. I have an Aftec with both springs installed. I have tried it with one spring on the front and with only one spring on the rear. Not really any change in the ejection pattern either way. If anyone can help me with this problem I would really appreciate it. (PLEASE do not say start shooting right handed or cut off my thumb, I Suck shooting right handed and cannot brush my teeth without a thumb)

  8. The lens hazing, is that caused by hybrid ports or barrel porting? I do not have any barrel ports (yet), and have not experienced any hazing other than oil splashing on the lens when the slide cycles.
