You're welcome. Let me know how it works out. I have an astigmatism that makes small dots go figure 8 pattern.
I believe I heard that match was cancelled. Better check with Dave.

They hold up pretty well. He's still using one. Been looking at them myself as I'm not a big fan of the Ultradot small tube. Obviously it works well though.

The barrel has to be 6" for Production. My suggestion would be to get a 686 plus. That 7th round often comes in handy. I replaced both the front and rear sights and had a trugger job done. Made distinguished with it in no time.

The "hammer" is to increase your feel of the trigger.
I don't have salt with the group tightners. Have to watch my blood pressure.

Alan is correct.
My Production revolver had a serrated trigger and a hammer spur. I didn't like it but it is what it is. A non-serrated trigger would certainly be considered an external modification. The best you could get away with on the hammer was to trim it a little to keep the spur from biting the web of your hand.

Many thanks for all the well wishes. Sorry it took so long to get this post out but I can tell you, this past week has been a whirlwind to say the least.

It took 15 years but I finally reached my goal of a 1920 plaque. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that when I did it, I would win the Cup. Many thanks to the Kansas City bunch for catching me before I fell back into the creek when they told me I won.
The shooters in this sport are just phenominal. After finishing up on the mover, I wasn't quite sure how I did. I looked back at the crowd behind me and all I saw was everyone with their thumbs up. That image is burned into my memory and will not be forgotten any time soon.
During my speech, I asked the unclassified shooters to stand up. There were 64 of them this year. The most that I have seen in quite some time. I told them congradulations, you are now classified and members of the action pistol fraternity. This sport is unlike any of the shooting sports that I have tried. You are part of a family in this sport. We are all competitive but at the end of the day we'll give you the shirt off our backs to help you. Whether it be moral support, help with a gun problem or advice on helping them improve.
Because of this sport, I have friends from all over the world. I cherish that friendship and look forward to being with them any time I can. It was an honor to shoot with them over these past few weeks. I wish them safe travels home and can't wait to see them again.

I've been using the primer tube from my 650 in my 1050 for several years now. Solved all of my primer issues with the machine. The only time I ever set off a primer in the 1050 was when not all of the old primer came out of the primer pocket after de-priming.

The key is to not struggle up close. When the buzzer goes off, get the gun on target as fast as you can and get the shots as close to the middle as possible. A shot may go near the edge up close but I adjust as I go along.
Shooting at pasters went away with the black dot. You could always see a paster on the old targets and most would shoot for it because you couldn't really see a ring.

I have a montra that I started saying to myself years ago and still do it. It's dot trigger. When the dot is on my black mark on the plate, I pull the trigger. I say this in my mind for every plate, everytime. When I hit a plate outside of my mark it's because I jerked the trigger. If I was shooting for red on white, that jerk could be a missed plate.
In Metallic, I use a 3 step montra. It's sight, freeze, squeeze. Works every time.

A C-More has too much parallax. Anything passed 25 yards and you're in trouble.
Used Aimpoints for a while. I could never seem to get the intensity where I wanted it. It was always just too bright or too dim.
Pride/Fowler worked well for me but they got pricey.
Been using the Ultradot matchdot for a few years now and have stuck with them. I put a sunshade on the back when the sun is behind me.

With the barrel out of the slide, a loaded round should just be under flush with the hood. Will a loaded round drop out? Sounds like the brass may have been fired from a Glock previously and is bulged at the base. The force of the slide closing can jam the round in the chamber and then be difficult to get out. You might try an under size die or be sure you are getting a cam over on the press.
I had a problem with loading rounds for Russell's P9. When I was belling the case mouth the base of the case was bulging out.

Hey Grant,
The discussion was about a 1911 in 9mm. You and Helen are different because you are shooting a gun that was designed to shoot 9mm. The 1911 was designed around a cartridge that had an overall length of 1.270". Now if Springfield would make their EMP with a 5" slide, the problem would go away with the 1911. The EMP was shortened in all areas to fit the 9mm.
You all also use Starline brass which eliminates the problem of different size cases from the same manufacturer. Most shooters try to use range brass or other makers.

Considering where you are, 6 months isn't bad. Now the question is, was it the gun or the nut behind the trigger?

This true 'old fart' has just got new shooting glasses and being able to see the bullet holes is a distraction. Just turn up the dot till it flares and you can't see the holes any more. NZ$300 wasted; Could have done that in the first place.

I tried that for a while. I found that turning up the dot was more of a distraction for me. I'll turn the intensity down as I move back.

Actually, this "old" fart can see the bullet holes. It's all I can do to not scan the target. I normally loose my attention span after the 46th shot. The 47th is usually an 8 and the 48th goes back to the x.

In other words, situation normal.
It just started snowing here. Stopped by Lake Charles on my way back from TX and shot a match with the revolver. Shot a 96. Finally started working the trigger better.

I almost made the mistake of saying that the 34 doesn't meet production rules because of barrel length. The rule says barrel length of less than 5.35". According to the specs from Glock, the barrel length is 5.31". Lol
