  1. What recoil weight spring are most people using with 9mm minor load in a glock 34 or 17L

    I'm running a 13lb ISMI flat along with a 5lb striker spring in a G17L.

    Oops

Funny, I was watching that Glock and almost bid $390. Only reason I didn't is I only need the upper from a 35 for my Limited project. Good score there, decent price. Enjoy!

  2. I'm in the same boat as you are at this point. Got a custom Limited gun a couple years ago, but haven't been able to get out and shoot near as much as I'd hoped (less than 3,000 rounds through it at this point). I love the custom gun and I'm a big 1911 fan, but I shoot a mildly modified Glock as good as my 2011 on any given day. I use a G19 at work and shot one for some time in Production. Like you I may unload the 2011 and mags and go back to Glock, but still debating at this point. Let us know how it goes.

  3. You should be able to pull a 4"-6" group at 50. The stock sights are adjustable but mine are hitting pretty high even at 15 yards using both factory and my reloads, so I will be replacing them. I'm a lefty as well so for slide-lock reloads on any pistol (that doesn't have an ambi-slide lock lever) I use the slingshot method. All said and done though the Glock 17L is really soft shooting, especially with lighter springs and reloads. Probably my favorite Glock so far.

  4. The G17L's require taller front sights than a G17 or G34. I have a .265" tall x .125" wide fiber optic Dawson front and a standard Heinie rear on mine, and it's POA/POI at 25 yards with a 125TC Bayou on top of 4.3 grains of TiteGroup at 1.100" You can go up to .585" tall. Plus if you buy a set from Dawson, they guarantee POI/POA and will send you a new front sight. Glock OEM sights suck anyway.

I was planning on going with Dawson or TTI. I guess I won't try to dig too deep on what Glock's issue was with these sights, I've just never had a Glock do that.

On a side note, how do you like that load? I settled on 4 grains of N320 pushing a 124 coated RN from ACME, OAL 1.14". Running right at 130pf, and reliable with the spring changes.

  5. So I got a good deal a new Gen 3 G17L a couple weeks ago and decided to use it for fun in Limited Minor. The POI was high of POA using off the shelf 115gr even with the rear sight bottomed out. I worked up a few loads, chrono'd them, and settled on one. Threw in 13lb recoil and 5lb striker springs and went back to the range. Now I'm about 3-4 inches high at 10yds with the factory rear sight bottomed out. I'd planned on changing the sights anyway, but anyone have any ideas why the gun would be high even with factory ammo? I've never had the factory adjustable sights on a Glock before, is this common?

  6. Well, 15 months and it arrived today...

10mm awesomeness! Can't wait to put some rounds through it this weekend.

Where did you get the Legion emblem work done? I would like to get something similar added to my 2011's

I emailed the vector image to Brandon and they engraved it there while building the gun.

  7. Trace must be well versed in this process after all (as if that's really a question)...Got an email that the pistol was assembled on the 4th, and as soon as the barrel comes back from TiN coating it was getting test fired, photographed, and sent out. I suspect the next week is going to go by slower than the last 14 months...

  8. It appears we're running 50/50 RO to Loaded Target, and 1 for my choice-if-I-had-the-cash, the PM9. I'm trying to justify the PM9 at $1300 by thinking if I get a Loaded Stainless, then have the front strap checkered, flat top the slide, Dawson front FO sight, & EGW internals, I'd have spent way more than $1300. Thanks for the opinions.

PM9, buy once cry once...then buy another. Soak up tears with beer.

  9. The great thing about getting into it now is there are a good number of great builders out there, it would seem. No matter what direction you go you'll probably not have any buyer's remorse.
