  1. OK, I have norrowed it down to these barrels. First off, I have a complete lower this upper is going on with the following:

    - Upper reciever

    - Low Mass bolt

    - MI Gen 2 SS handguard

    - Syrac Ordnance Low Pro gas block

    - Surefire Muzzle brake

So basically I just need the barrel. This will be used for any three gun match I enter, so short and very long shots will be done. I do not want to go with a 18" barrel because I find it is to nose heavy for me (doesn't balance right). These are the barrels that I have found in stock that seem to be quality....input welcomed, please vote.

  2. I have been shooting three gun matches for about 1 year. Most the time I have been using my work rifle (SW Midlength magpul) and bought a Stag 3g. Shot the Stag 3g in 2 matches and did not like it because it felt two end heavy and transitioning between targets was a lot slower then with the 16 inch SW.

So I am either thinking of a 16" inch gun or a 18" lightweight barreled gun.

Distance would be out to 400 yards.

  3. Hello:

Instead of buying a three gun rifle I am looking into possibly building one (yet on a budget). I am looking at a few different barrel manufactures and was wondering the opinions on this sight.

    - I already have an upper reciever, bolt, and syrac ordnance adjustable gas block.

    - Looking at the midwest industries SS Gen 2 for Handguard

    - I know JP is the best but it is about 200-300 dollars more then most other barrel companies.

    - Daniel Defense, looking at there 16" midlength barrel

    - Rainier arms

    - Blackhole Weaponary

    - Centurion Arms (16" LW)

Just wondering your opinion on the different barrels.

    Thanks,

    Adam

  4. OK, I am glad some of you can simply say go to the gym and carry the rifle you have, but it goes much further then that. I workout everyday (cross training, weight lifting, and running) and thought the Stag was heavy as well. You also have to take in body type, arm length, etc into account. I am 5'8" and do not have long arms. So for me to reach out towards the end of the forarm on the Stag 3g put me in an awakward shooting position. If I moved my hand back the rifle felt unbalanced and I could not stop the rifle as fast when i was quickly transitioning from target to target.

I quickly realized a 16 inch gun or an 18 inch lightweight gun would have to be the ticket for me. I have been running my work rifle (S&W midlength magpul) in local three gun matches and have been winning. When doing different drills (even at a distance) I found the heavier Stag not to handle as well for me.

So for an individual to simply say, "work out" is possibly not getting to the actual problem of why that certain individual thinks the rifle is heavy.

  5. Hello:

I have a barrel length question that I am sure will start a discussion. I am using a Mossberg JM 930 right now but the length of pull is a little to long for me. I shot a buddies Beretta 1301 Comp and really liked it. So the question becomes which barrel length to get for the Beretta. I see some individuals running 21" guns with a longer mag tube.

I would be either shooting tac optics or limited.

    Thanks for the help.
