  1. Well, I flipped it and it does seem to work, but I’m still having problems. Also, it’s tilting forward in the track.
  2. Here's what it looks like. https://photos.app.goo.gl/WVZd3wg3F5m3TQyU9
  3. I did. I've been shooting pistol for a while, so I didn't get much out of the first videos. But, I must say it is good to stop and focus a bit on the basics. It's good material. I got to the shotgun vid and had to stop while I waited for my equipment to arrive. I tried doing quad loads on my unmodified M3K and found it to be extremely frustrating, so Saturday morning I got up and removed a lot of material from the loading port. It made all the difference in the world. On Sunday I finally got around to mounting my Invictus 12 round shell caddy to my belt. Previously I was picking up the stacked dummy rounds from a table, but grabbing them from the shell caddy also makes a huge difference. I need a lot of practice, but at least I know I'll to figure out the quad loads. Before I hacked out my loading port I didn't think I'd ever me able to get it. Long story short, I haven't spent enough time on the training videos. I'm also getting my rifle reloading system up and running, so that's taking a lot of time as well. I'll get back on it soon. I have found a lot of great resources on YouTube as well. Here's a photo of my gun smithery...
  4. Awesome! Man, they’re waaaay behind on their shipping. I tried contacting them by email and on their website again today, so maybe I’ll get a reply. I’ve been using them since the last ammogedon. I’m sure they’ll get it figured out. I just want to make sure I’m still n the list.
  5. I have a Mr Bullet Feeder, so during the primer/powder/bullet cycle it was recommended to use he Lyman M neck expander in station 1. This flares the mouth of he case out to accept the bullet. With 9MM the Mr Bullet Feeder kit comes with a powder drop that expands the mouth of the case, but not with the 223 setup. I know that one use a die in station one that does expand the neck all the way down but I’m not all that familiar with that. I’m about to reload, so maybe I’ll upload another video.
  6. Anyone heard from Bayou Bullets lately? I placed an order almost 4 months ago and haven't heard from them. They didn't reply to the message I sent in their contact system and their phone has a busy signal. I only tried once, so I'll defiantly try again. They're probably just swamped, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks
  7. I'm sizing with the Dillon sizing/decapping die in station one and then trimming in station 4. Contrary to the Dillon's instructions, Lyman says to size before their trim die. I just ran about 1500 cases through it last night and everything seems to be working just fine. I probably won't touch anything till I get the Dillon (Carbide) die. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMN1QZPGxGMTV2S85cATMez80HxUBNGCxN4kxSwnazhC9NcYaixlJtkHxkIeXmE6g?key=VkFTVm55SEJ6R2FlZ2VPY3ZXQy1LX01zQ3F1MzZn
  8. I ordered mine on May 1st.... that's almost 12 weeks. Don't seem right. Was yours for 223? On a side note, the Dillon die says not to size the case before the trimmer die. The trimmer die does the sizing, and the tight fit is needed to prevent case spin. Only the decapping die is needed in in station one. The instructions with the Lyman trim die says that you do need to resize before the trim die. Also, when I install the RT1500 on the Lyman die almost none of the case mouth sticks out the top. If I adjust the trimer die down enough to get a reasonable amount of clearance for the cutter the case gets stuck. I ended up having to adjust the die so almost no case sticks out the top, then I had to bring the cutter down until it's just kissing the top of the die. I don't think this is the way it's supposed to be setup, but it does work. Hopefully the Dillon die will resolve this issue.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. I’m thinking of getting some small plates for live fire practice as well (I say “practice”, I just love to shoot). Seems like hitting these small targets is a big thing.
  10. Update: I just spoke to Kyle at Springer Precision... I'm so glad I contacted them. He is truly an expert. He thinks my extractor is fine. He said I could check it by pulling a case out of the extractor using a trigger gauge. 3-4lbs is normal. He said that looking at the photos it's fine. He had me plunk test my chamber. My old barrel has a solid plunk, but my new Barsto barrel wasn't as solid, and if I bushed in on the round I had to pull it out using my fingernails. He said the Barsto barrels lean towards the tight side, and I definitely needed to ream the chamber. This is what's most likely causing my extraction problem. He also said I may be able to improve my accuracy by installing a 16 or 18lb spring. 18 would be best if I could get it to slide lock. A weak spring could cause the gun to come out of battery too soon and send the rounds all over the place. I should be able to get a 1-2" group at 15 yards... Thanks Mr. Kyle...
  11. Thanks for the reply N3WWN. If you click on and then zoom into the photos shown above with the round in it you can see I have lots of space between the extractor and the slide material. There are lots of YouTube videos on “tuning” 1911 extractors. One thing they do is take off he slide, insert a round, and wave it around to see if it will stay in-place. A 45 is a lot heavier than a 9MM, but my extractor seems to be holding the cartridge well enough. In one video the guy took some off the tip so the rim of the case was a little closer to the bottom of the recess and they also recommended removing material where it stops against the slide (like you said). He mostly talked about smoothing out the surfaces where the rim of the case enters the extractor from below. It actually looks like the new extractor has had more work done to it than the original. Below, I added some photos that include the old extractor. Now that I think about it, my original slide was replaced by Springfield sometime along the way, so maybe that's why the old extractor doesn't look so bad. If they did replace it I'd say it has at least 20-30k rounds on it. I've contacted Springer Precision. Thanks again...
  12. I’d like to make some dryfire targets for 3-Gun. Years ago I downloaded a bunch of PDF targets from this forum that are suitable for USPSA and they served me very well. I’m just getting into the 3-Gun and want to make my dryfire more realistic. I haven’t been to a match yet. I’d appreciate it if some of you veteran 3-Gunners would suggest what type and size targets you come across in matches, along with common distances. Also, please include shooting positions. Lastly, what shooting scenarios seemed to cause you the biggest problems? I plan to size them similar to other 1/3 scale targets so I can position myself 10ft away from where I’ll place them on my garage door. Thanks
  13. I have an old XDM with about 70k rounds on it. It was the first pistol I used in USPSA, but now it’s got a light on it an has been relegated to home defense. I noticed a while back that it was starting to have failures to extract so I decided to do some upgrades and repairs. I’ve installed a BarSto barrel and replaced the original extractor with one I purchased from Springer Precision. The barrel seemed to have accuracy issues, and the pistol was failing to extract very 50 rounds or more. It seems to be worse when I’m shooting really fast. I replaced the extractor, but it still seems to be failing at about the same rate. The SP website says the extractor will need to be “tuned”. I have no idea of how to “tune” the extractor. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve attached four photos. Thanks
  14. Update: I tried the low profile slide stop and I think it’s going to solve my problems. The factory slide stop seemed to hit my thumb joint, but I can’t even notice this one. It would be perfect if it was as long as the original. Even with the shortened length I can usually drop the slide with the thumb of my strong hand, but sometimes I miss it. Overall I’m very pleased. I can’t tell you how many malfunctions I’ve had, usually at big matches on hoser stages where I’m all amped up…. Lol. Thanks https://benstoegerproshop.com/cz-shadow-2-rami-flat-low-profile-slide-stop/
  15. I’m definitely going to get the Lyman, but I was wondering if I should also get the Dillon as well. Thanks for the help.
  16. Yep, that looks familiar…. Should I go ahead and leave my Dillon die on back order or cancel it? Thanks
  17. I’m looking for alternative to a Dillon Rapid Trim 1500 Size/Trim Die (19797). I’ve finally assembled all the stuff to reload 223, except this one die. I’m pretty sure someone already suggested an alternative, but I can’t seem to find the post. I asked Dillon for an ETA and they recommended I try another vendor due to the extremely long lead time. Thanks
  18. Ordered. I think that’ll make a big difference. Thanks
