Just got my slide back from Mike Caylor at Caylor Custom. He put a fiber optic front sight on it. Straight forward job except I own a slide with a "bastard" dovetail cut on it from past work.
Mike was able to fit a sight to it and did a Teflon finish to the slide.
Good to find people that do a good job at a fair price and in a reasonable time frame.
Thanks to you people on this forum for recommending him.

I am shooting the 18.9 LDA 9mm in production. It took a while to get used to the trigger system but I really like it now. This is the second year I will be shooting it.
You don't see a lot of people shooting them but thats cool.
Early on I had some function problems and sent it to Para for corrective action but she's cranking now.

I hate that people I know and shoot with have so little respect for others that they "forget" they owe you money and excactly how much it was.
In the last week I have had to be a total dick to someone that shoots with us to make good on a bounced check(forgot to send money) and now another one can't rember the amount he owes me.
People should stand up and be grown ups when dealing in money matters
it sucks

check out hte mag pouches from Blackhawk. They are single pouches but are no biggerthan they need to be. I am using them for production. You have more freedom to arrange them on the belt.

DQ-never feel bad or second guess yourself on a safety issue. if you end up being wrong about the squib -- reshoot
if you see him at another match ask him if he makes a habit of pointing his weapon at himself and others- he was not thinking right that day
I would think the rest of the squad would be pissed if he was not DQed

Had problems with my Para as posted in another section. Called Para service and was told to send it back to them for warranty service.
Gun went out to them Tuesday and they called Thursday saying they were shipping it back to me. It was at the office Friday afternoon. Went to the range and put 50rnds through it and had one failure to extract. shot another 80-90 rounds on Saturday with no problems.
Very happy with Para's communication and quick repair/adjustments.

update on extrction problem
Called PARA and spoke to service. Explained problem and was told that there was nothing I could do but to send it back to them. Tech would not go into detail but seemed familiar with what I was explaining. Said may have to replace extractor or go as far as replacing the barrel. No reason or explanation was given.
As long as they make it work I don't care what they do!!!!
In the ups today.
Will let you all know how it goes

it seems that the case doesn't get pulled from the chamber and the slide comes back & strips off the next round from the mag.
when the jam occurs what I see is a fired case in the chamber with a live round most of the way out of the mag jammed in behind it
-
It isn'nt new but doesn't have many rounds through it either. There are no nicks on the extractor lip and it has enough tension to hold acase on the breechface.

hello all,
I have a PARA LDA 18.9 9mm with the new style power extractor.
It does not extract a case and the slide picks up a fresh round and double feeds.
It will do this 1 -2 rounds out of every mag. not in the same order but on every mag. I am using Win white box and Rem yellow box - same problem.
I took the extractor out and cleaned it and put some break free on the spring and pivot point. It has no shok-buff and I put a new 14lb recoil spring in it. The chamber and breechface look and feel smooth - no burrs that can be seen.
Today it went 12 rounds(1 stage) and started gagging on the next stage. It is the same scenario as last weekend.
Any suggestions or things to look for will be appreiciated.
Thanks,
Danva

what is the shock buff technique? My wife has been having some trouble depressing the grip safety because of her small hands.

Ammoman.com has US made NATO stamped 124gr 9mm ammo on sale.

"Neck hold" is what we used to aim at when shooting at 50 yrds. It is the narrowest part of the full size target. You adjust yous sights to hold at the top of shoulders vertical and center of the neck to hit in the center ring.
This is what I was taught and it worked quite well.
Don't forget to change your sights when you go back to 6yrd line or you will shoot at the bottom of target!

GOOD LOOKING!!!
My wife got her STI from Derek last fall.
Great Guy and great Craftsman

looks like a sight rid such as an Aristoctrat. It is a rib with a cam arangement to change the sight settings as you move from 6,25 & 50 yards. I used a neck hold at 50 and 25 yard. They can be sighted in at the ranges so when you move forward on the line you just adjust the settings.
Hope this helps

Hello all and Happy Holidays,
I see that Dawson Precision is selling aluminium shock buffs and have'nt heard of them before. Are they in use by many shooters and do they work or is this a gadget for your gun?

Plastic Solvent
in Shotgun - Technical

Hey all,
My Remy 1100CM gets really fouled up in the forcing cone area of the barrel. It looks to be fouling from the plastic wad. Shooters choice and Hoppes do not seem to cut this stuff.
Can anybody suggest a solvent that will cut this? It may not matter as to weapon function but it looks trashy looking down the barrel.
Thanks
