  1. I have an 11-87 with Synthetix Stock, Choate +4 tube, Firesights light pipe.....It is great!!! Knocks down steel with no problem (Modified choke). Had Benny make me an EZ Loader.. The only problem is that it takes a bit more practice on the reloads, as the loading gate is narrower than the 12 Ga. I use #8 Remington Gun Club ammo amd have no problem.
  2. My new 20 Guage 11-87 is doing a number on the rims of the shells. It puts a healthy ding in the rim which prevents them from being reliable reloads after 1 or 2 reloads(at best). Any help?
  3. Just added a Choate +4 to my 11-87 20 Ga. The supplied spring seems real long and I can only load a couple of rounds with the extension installed. How long should spring be...I assume this is the problem because works ok with factory setup. Any help!!!!!
  4. A while back there was an article in Front Sight that described a reloading technique in which the loading hand was swept back and forth across the gun. Does anyone have more info or a copy of the piece...I have misplaced my copy of the magazine.... Thanks
  5. No need to disassemble the whole receiver? thanks
  6. I need help with the disassembly of a new 11-87 20 ga. I need to remove the trigger group. Any easy fixes?
  7. I think you are thinking about Carlson. They installed removeable choke in three Mossberg 590s for me. Good price...fast turn around
  8. I have some STI mags for about 8 years. It seems that the current followers from STI are different than the older ones. Anyone have any info????
  9. Finally got through to Winchester. They do not have a reload recipe for the Low Noise/Recoil shells as they use a "propriartary" powder.
  10. These are the shells...does anyone have a reload recipe...I believe it is a 28 gram shot load. Thanks PS This will be used for genral purpose target...not USPSA thanks again
  11. Anyone have a reload recipe for Winchester reduced recoil and noise 12 Ga??
  12. Anyone having problems with primers not fully seating with these hulls on a MEC 600 press? AA's work just fine.
  13. I have bunch of the others. The New England Yankee in me doesn't really really want to waste them.
  14. Anyone know if the Claybuster 4118-12 can be used for a 1 ounce load? Thanks
  15. I started with a SDB and have been very happy with it for about 10 years. Only a few minor problems that most have noted here. The only real interesting problem was a timing problem between the shell late and the primer ram. The shell plate would hang up on the edge of the primer cup. Tried the adjustment,,,still NG. Called Dillon, explained problem, they said the shaft on the primer ran was BENT!!! and replaced it. Went on to buy a used 650. The 650 is just for 40 and the SDB is used for everything else (4 other calibers). Both presses are great but each has its peculiarities!
  16. Are you talking about yourself AGAIN Jim????
  17. What is the difference between the red and gray hulls?
  18. You win some....You loose some....but you gotta get dressed for them all...
  19. Sorry, they are Winchester Universals.
  20. Does anyone know the difference between Winchester AA and Winchest General Purpose hulls?
  21. Just insatlled a Knoxx Compstock and a Cheekeze pad on the 590. It seems to be measurably better but I do not know if the claimed 54% reduction has been realized. A friend of mine who is a Trap kinda guy recently gave a reload recipe for an extremely low preasure round. I have a shotshell loader that I haven't used in a year of Wednesdays. Will dust it off, buy some components and see what happens!

    45 acp

Here's something a bit different! A number of years ago, when a whole bunch of us were shooting 45's, we used the following. 250gr Flatpoint cowboy bullets 3 grains Clays Bullet was seated very short just covering the cannalure Shot SUPER soft but the gun cycled slowly and at time some of us found we were actually faster than the gun... This is about the softest load I have ever used, regtardless of cal.
