  1. I got 2 9rd mags in today. Modified them for 10rds and polished the feed lips. The springs are unbelievably stiff. I loaded them with 10rds and plan to leave them for several days.
Any idea why they need to be so strong?
    Reliable feeding most likely

  2. Shot a bunch of 1 1/8 oz stuff.  Specifically, Winchester Super X 1 1/8oz 7 1/2 shot at 1280.  What exact shell are you running??  I am sure it is mentioned somewhere in here but...
I would have thought the super x would have run for you.

I typically run Remington Clay and Field or Fiocchi 3GJM stuff ... Both 7.5s, 1-1/8th doing 1200.

I've ran lighter and slower loads in testing. To this day, the Fiocchi 1oz doing 1150 light strikes for some reason but cycles when it does pop. The Gun Club 1-1/8 doing 1145 runs all day

  3.      Took mine out for a little break in and some testing last night.  Ended up shooting 250 rounds which was pretty painful considering I still only have 5 round mags.  Birdshot only...no slugs yet.  I had mixed results.  Any high brass or fast game load type shell worked well and the recoil wasn't bad.  I shot some Walmart Winchester(1200 fps) and some super x at 1290 fps but it would not consistently run with them.  It seemed like the bolt was not going back far enough to strip the next round off with the lighter loads.  I also had a couple bad jams where the front third of the shell gets smashed into the chamber and is jammed between the mag and the bolt.  Have to pull really hard on the mag to get it out but then it is easily cleared.  Makes me think i need to tune my mags a bit as well.  Overall, I am pleased with the gun.  Need to try and figure out what its favorite food is and then we will be happy.

Here is a thought for you guys.  What if a guy ran shells that were a little hotter (1300-1500) with the heavy piston installed.  I assume it would bleed off more gas and therefore might equal out the increased recoil of those rounds.  Plus, you would have shells that cycled 100%.  Any thoughts on this??

The stuff that wasn't running well ... 1-1/8oz or 1oz? The gun tends to like heavier payload at lower speeds or the 1oz when going over 1200 (1300 seemed to be good)

Also the factory spring goes solid before the buffer can contact the end of the buffer tube. This I think plays a role in how well they run early on. The buffer from Taccom solves this

  4. Dry piston but the bolt and such was wet enough to ruin a sweat shirt with flying lube!!  ha ha.  I have a couple 19s coming this week and am searching for a couple 9 rounders.  My M3K took several hundred rounds before it started working good so I will be patient.  How many rounds are you guys thinking before you could assume it was broke in??
After a flat of shells mine absolutely was. I think after about 100 it was already g2g

  5. I had mine out today for the first time. Ran great on Fiocci #7.5 but any time I tried to load it 5+1 it would choke trying to eject the first round. If I ran it with just the 5 in the mag it was fine. Anyone else have this issue?
    Break the gun/mag in more

  6. Speaking of video...I’d like to see a video of what the baseplate of a 9 round magazine that has been modified to a 10 rounder looks like.  I took one apart just to see what everyone has been talking about but would like to see exactly how much to cut off.
Cut a shells width off that spike or just cut it flush w off

  7. Well let's see. One time the shells wouldnt extract. Ok changed extractor, the next time the trigger was freezing up, dont know what cause that or how it got fixed, one time the bolt wasnt coming back all the way to chamber the next round. One time the follower was getting stuck in the magazine tube. One time in the middle of the match the shell drop stopped working, like what drops the shells into the breach so you can chamber them..... at a certain point I just stuck it in my closet and starting using my 20 year old pump action.
    Give ya $100 for it

  8. I have a stroager

I have yet to run it in a comp where it actually works

always seems like something stupid happens
What exactly happens ... Put shells in, pull trigger to dispense. Seems fairly simple [emoji1787]

  9. Ok.  I have gone through all of the posts and still have a couple questions.

#1   Sounds like all you need for a stock is the outer adjustable part.  It is my understanding that the commercial tube inside is already set up for a 6 position outer.  Is this true??

#2   What are you guys feeding these things??  Will they shoot just about anything?  Cheap Walmart Fed or Win? Or is there a particular velocity they like?

Thank you in advance.  Hope i didn't miss this info somewhere in the pages.

    1. Yes
    2. Start w 1250-1300 fps 1-1/8oz target loads for break in ... After 100 or so it should start to run lighter. Hull quality is key for box fed so while it may run crap bulk, don't count on it

  10. Any chance you would be willing to elaborate on what needs modding on the drum to make it work?

Replace the factory tower with a RIA 2rd mag, smooth out the transition and make any clearance cuts to get the back cover on w the new tower

  11. Get it if you want something different and know it may take some modding and about $25 to potentially correct it, should it not work.

There are +1 pads in the EU that are close to $50/shipped each. I'm waiting on 2 potential US shops ...

  12. They may break and you never know when you can get em again....
In all the years we have been shooting I've never seen someone break a mag aside from stepping on one and bending the feed lips. There is a massive rush on this gun right now - I don't ever see a supply being a problem in the long run since mags for these were plentiful prior to the 80 showing up and people going apeshit over it

  13. So I actually tried a MatchSaver reload today with the VR ... It is possible on a locked back bolt with mag left inserted. However, it's not easy as you need to hit the release paddle hard enough to compress the follower/BHO tab to drop the bolt closed.
