Rowdy, I have been getting light strikes with my SP01 Tactical. Sounds like the same problem the OP stated. I have the 8.5 hammer spring in the gun and a 11.5# sitting here. I know this is a subjective question, but in your opinion is there really much difference in the feel on the first shot when decocked between the 8.5 and 11.5? I could just put it in and see for myself, but I'm really lazy today.

I'm not Rowdy but have had experience with both springs. There is a difference if you're at home on your work bench tinkering and doing slow DA pulls.  You'll be a little lighter with your DA and a only slightly lighter in your SA.  But at speed, I would say no. A smooth trigger (by polishing the internals) makes a much bigger difference in the overall feel than going from an 11# to 8.5# main spring.

If it were me, I'd make sure the gun runs 100% with 11# (because it should with all the goodies/polishing), then if it does, repeat with 8.5#.

  2. If you want to stick with 10rd mags, go with the mecgar 10rders. They're the same body as the 17rders but they put a dimple on the side of the mag so the follower can't go past to accept 10+ rounds.

Cheapest and fastest you'd get them is from gregcotellc. You'll also be able to use the same basepads (as stated from other posters) & mag springs used for standard 17rd mecgar mags.

  3. Taken from the description of the T2 Disco: https://cajungunworks.com/product/1485t2-disconector/

Disclaimer: This exclusive CGW short reset disco WILL ONLY WORK in CZ’s that have our SRS-1 or SRS-2. The reason is, the 1485-T2 will stop the trigger bar in 3.5mm’s. The stock CZ system resets in 6.5mm’s, therefore if you install this product in a stock CZ, the trigger will not reset in SA.

Disclaimer: If you already have the CGW Reach Reduction (RRK) installed, the 1485-T2 will not work. Contact CGW for a special “hybrid” disco that combines the benefits of the RRK and the 1485-T2. We also offer a custom “RRK-T2” on a special order basis, please call or e-mail for details.

Give Dave a call at CGW and he'll get you squared away.

  4. If you want a short reach, the stock SP01 trigger is the best choice, if you want a longer reach, the "old style 85B" or 97B is what you want.

And if you want something in the middle, the "new style" 85 is what you will want.

  5. Only question I can help you is that the Ghost 360 mag pouches allow for bullets out in addition to your standard bullets forward. (And if you're interested in them let me know...I've got some I'm getting rid of).

  6. Hey John - that doesn't look like gopro's capability of shooting 120 FPS. Are you sure you were shooting more than 24/30FPS? Bump it up to 120 fps at the very least. Do you have any NLE software? If not, send the videos my way and I can edit them...I haven't played much with gopro's video editing software but they've had to have made it easy to make slow-mo videos.

  7. I've never thought of using an extended firing pin on a TS since you're able to run a "heavy" main spring to get reliable ignition without huge adverse affects on your SA pull. I'd spend the money on other stuff...

I'd say the hammer hook and sear engagement and respective angle is more of a contributing factor on how "light or crisp" your trigger feels.

I'd be interested in seeing if anyone has had experience with pierced primers from an extended firing pin with factory main spring or otherwise...

  8. Add a decocker and have your da start at half cock? Not sure how much that shortens it.

Half cocked is about 3-5mm closer. Definitely will help. I am looking into that.

You're going to have to get an SP01 tactical if you want a decocker. This means a new gun...(the sear cage and innards of a CZ75 decocker is a bit different than a safety). You won't be able to get a reset like you would on a shadow since the SP01 tacticals have a firing pin block (assuming you want to stay production legal).

  9. If I could and had the resources/holster I would be able to figure it out myself but am in a bind here. I'm hoping someone would know the fastener size (Size/TPI and length?) for the 4 screws that is used to fasten the two pieces for retaining the belt. (see attached)

    Thanks a lot!

    Chris

  10. IPSC rules also state you can't change any parts to aftermarket parts (other than sights). IPSC shooters will have to use the Pre-B disco while people that shoot USPSA have a choice in either (for Production).

  11. Just a heads up I'm going to be posting up a few serendipities that I got for sale on the classifieds section. Not trying to make any money (my cost + s/h to you) but pass along the deal to BE members that missed it. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought them. It was late...and I wasn't thinking. Sorry for hogging them

  12. I would agree with the majority and practice decocking the SP01.

Shameless plug: But in case you are looking for another P09...I've got a brand new one worked over by Matt Mink (purchased from trgt on this forum). If you're in Southern California, we can PPT it but if you need it shipped I do have a barrel and sled you can use for SSE. =)

  13. I think you can get a great trigger with a standard SP01 with all the CGW/CZC upgrades and trigger work. That's what I started with and later bought an SP01 Shadow to compare...I wasn't blown away but it might be because there was a bit more work done to the SP01. But that's just me...

  14. Isn't a decocker gun one that has DA/SA? Forgive my ignorance of CZ but I have Sigs and HKs and they all are DA/SA with decocker (I like that particular manual of arms...).

I believe JayDee is alluding to the fact that a DA/SA CZ with decocker is a bit more difficult to get a nice trigger compared to a DA/SA CZ that is equipped with a manual safety.

  15. I can definitely afford more but have bought a lot of guns recently so wanted to start with SP01 and do the work myself and learn more about CZ platform; I am new to CZ.

I don't see much on changing out sights is it easy to throw on some FO from CGW for a do it yourselfer?

Pretty easy...CGW sights have the front sight notched out already so no need to drill it. You'll just have to drift out the rear sight from left to right (and install right to left) when looking from the rear of the gun.
