Chamber length was brought up: "does this gun have a short chamber?"

    YES. Yes it does.

Made up a variety of dummy rounds. Maximum lengths that will chamber without the bullet ending up in the lands:

I have a variety of dummies I cooked up of each of these loaded at 1.100" ... 1.110"... 1.120"... etc. My findings:

    125 TC Black Bullets Int'l.

Max length 1.120" (fails at 1.125")

    124gr Acme RN.

    Max length 1.108"-1.115" (Failed 1.122")

    135gr Black Bullets Int'l.

    Max length 1.130" (Failed 1.135")

    147gr Precision Delta FMJ.

    Max length 1.125" (Failed 1.130")

    150gr Bayou SWC.

    Max length 1.100" (Failed 1.115")

I noticed the length issue too. I gave it the credit of running at 1.13.

However on Unload show clear, I noticed the live round would kind of nick the bullet on the way out. Im not at 1.12. The 1.13 didnt give me issues in about 600 rounds but better safe than sorry.

  2. I'm late to the party.

First lets start off with this was a Level 1 match. The Winnebago up for grabs wasn't even running. To add to that Motosapiens won it last month and the sheets would need to be burned and replaced.

It was one of those days where the sun was to the back of the target and the wind was blowing through Moto's hair....oh wait back on track. It was pretty easy to see the light piercing through the black hardcover on the single target as each shot was being broken. Shooter even commented "about the mikes" as he/she made ready for the next string.

I scored 3 Mikes 3 Alpha based on what I saw transpire and what was on the paper. My Secondary RO/Scorekeeper agreed with the call based on what he saw as well. There were a total of 4 discernable hits in the A zone if I recall correctly. Neither here nor there as they were all A zone hits. No other hits besides the hardcover black. None. Zilch. Zero. El Negative numero.

Based on If there are extra scoring hits or questionable penalty hits thereon, Yes sir there were.

and to me as a certified RO not at his first rodeo...... it was obvious which hits were made by the competitor being scored.

Well George how did he know? I watched the three mikes happen and all the other hits were Alphas. This all means the main argument was how do I know which Alphas 9mm hits were theirs and which 9mm Alphas hits were someone else's. That's really what the argument was....

At the end of the day I didn't win the Winnebago but I get to go home to my hot girlfriend who most times doesn't like me. I immediately left this argument due to the shooter (who is a CRO) eloquently pointed out that I'm only an RO and don't know what I'm talking about. I handed the timer to a National Match working CRO and said you make the call. I don't get paid enough to get yelled at by a shooter emotional distraught over a game.

At the end of the day. I can see both sides but believe it could have been scored fairly.

  3. The Stock2, Lim Pro and Stock 3 all have the same size frame. Buying a Stock3 Xtreme is a real expensive way to get a set of Eric Grips.

The Xtremes make no sense to me. The finish is worse than chrome, and they all need the same amount of work as a stock gun. The trigger is better out of the box, yes, but it's still not up to par.

    All this ^^^^^

Maybe if it was race ready but its not in a condition I would open the box and go compete with.

  4. I dont think it is. All i know is i had to break down my friends extreme that he just got and had to polish everything as if it was stock internals.

I pulled the trigger on a fresh out of the Box Xtreme and WAS NOT even remotely impressed.

    For the price tag?

    Build your own.

  5. Ran accross this on my 45. I just about tore my hair out trying to figure it out. Switched bullet profile and took care of the problem.

The gentleman I bought this from ran Truncated Cone and didn't have the issue. I wanted to stick with the RNFP profile on this bullet because it's also what my Limited gun eats up.

  6. Ran into an issue. Easy fix but thought I'd share.

    STI Trojan 1911 in 40 S&W w/ 10MM mags. 1.185" OAL RNFP 180gr

10mm mags allow more movement forward than traditional 40 S&W mags. (RED BOX) When the top round is fed, it will drag the next round forward slightly. As you can see here, it can contact the slide stop. (Green Circle)

    Causing this.....

I was able to file down the slide stop in this location till it stopped making contact. (Green Circle)

Not final pic but you can see it improving. After contact was no longer happening, I polished it out with 440+ grit sand paper. I checked Slide Stop operation all along the process.

  7. I know Ben has the stock safeties on his guns, can't speak to other people. I changed out my Lim Pro's safety for the smaller ambi model so that it would fit in the Production box as well as the IDPA box.

Thanks Twinkie. Furthers my thoughts about a bad box hosing a shooter. Good to know about the limited pro too.

  8. I spoke with an NROI instructor about this when WJMs incident happened.

The rule for the box does have a "buffer dimensions" for the box maker however he stated that the box should have been an approved USPSA box.

How can you say that a wooden box made by god knows who is an approved USPSA box? The Stock II with Ambi safety is on the NROI approved list. IMO if the untouched factory gun doesnt fit then its on the box and not the gun.

Unless Tanfoglio is putting out guns with different tolerance safeties?!

Can anyone confirm if Ben, JJ, and Eric all run the stock ambi safeties on their SIIs that passed Nat Gun Checks?

  9. There are so many variables with FPs, and fitted blocks. I can only speak to my experiences.

I have massive "hangs" with the various FP combinations I tried. These including Henning Gen IV and III. The only combination I got to work reliably was the Xtreme FP and an extended FPB that was fitted. Pretty much same combo in the Xtremes.

  10. Are you running the Titan Hammer?

I believe the T3s are super easy to fit with the Delta but need additional work for Titans.

I dont have mine in right now. Currently playing with the Dual wing, Titan, and working FPB.

I thought the delta was identical to the titan, except for the weight up top. No? How else do they differ? Trying to learn here, as a buddy will most likely be wanting T3's fitted to his titan hammer S2's!

I can only refute that because the Delta Hammer works with my fitted T3 and will not work with my Titan. I would take video of them both to prove it but I sold the Delta already.

  11. I do not have a trigger scale but it is a whole lot better than I started, but still not as smooth or good as the shadow.

You can get it just as good as a CZ trigger. Its always personal preference. I will say the different Hammer Spring ergonomics will always give CZ a slight lead in not having stacking at the end before the DA Break.
