  1. I know the frame is stainless steel. I have drills and taps for ss and a mill. Has anyone drilled one before?
  2. Why is the comp the tough/expensive part?
  3. I have a EAA Witness Match. I need to drill and tap the frame for a Quinn III C-More mount. I know the screws are 4x0.7 (metric). Can someone give me the location of the four holes in the frame on the Limited or Gold? Height wise the holes appear to be in line with the slide stop pin. From photos the first hole (rear) looks to be just forward of the front of the trigger guard. Jim Skeel
  4. I am a retired engineer (Mechanical) and a self taught machinist. I have shot competitive pistol on and off for fourty years. I shoot Steel Challenge for fun now. Mainly .22 pistol and rifle but I am in the process of setting up my Glock 34 for Steel. Red dot optics have made it possible for me to compete again with the pistol. I shoot Skeet and Sporting Clays and I am a Ponsness/Warren dealer. I have been reloading for fifty years. Brian's forums are a great source for good information. I hope to contribute here in the future.
  5. Kevin's email said: "The bore land dia is .3548 and any lead or plated bullet that is under .356 will never shoot very well."
  6. I did correspond with Kevin at KKM. He will not comment on twist rate. I don't understand why as it is something one can measure. I suspect KKM has made changes to their twist rate and they do not want folks coming back to them for the latest design. His advice was to shoot some quality jacketed bullets through the barrel. He commented that 115 grain jacketed bullets are always the best. He said the problem with lead or plated bullets is the sizing. He said the KKM bore land diameter is .3548". He said the bullets need to be .356" to .3565" in diameter. He commented that any lead bullet that is under .356 will never shoot very well. I will do some testing when my slide comes back from ZEV. I have some Winchester 115 grain FMJ hollow base bullets and I will acquire some Hornady FMJ 115 grain bullets to test. I will post the results here in a couple of months.
  7. The KKM Match barrel appears to be a 1 in 18" twist. The Glock OEM barrel appears to be a 1 in 9" twist. The above "measurements" were made by observing the degrees of rotation in the length of the barrel. Not exact but I am sure it is close. This is a big difference! From what I have read the European manufacturers use a much faster rate of twist like 1 in 9 or 1 in 10. The last time I tested these two barrels the Glock OEM barrel grouped much better than the KKM. That was with 115 gr. plated bullets. I will re-test both barrels with 115 gr jacketed bullets as soon as I get my slide back from ZEV.
  8. I will have to measure mine. I know it is a lot slower twist than the OEM barrel. I know they do not have options on the twist. I just wonder if they have made changes. Their website talks about them "experimenting" with barrels.
  9. I have a KKM 9mm Match barrel (G34B1) for my Glock 34. This barrel appears to have considerably less twist compared to the OEM barrel. Anyone know what twist KKM uses in the G34 barrel? Anyone know if KKM produced G34 barrels with different twist rates?
  10. The thumb rest and mag well are Rim-Edge. The comp is something I made (steel). The bolt handle is something I made (aluminum). The grips are Hogue 9/32" G-10. The C-More mount is from Bearcave Machining. The internals (trigger, sear, hammer, hammer bushing are Volquartzen.
  11. Who can machine the slide on my Glock 34 for a direct mount of a C-More STS? C-More recommends the "pins" be machined in the slide. Jim
